Fun with cousins

My sister, Stacie and her family have been here most of July. We have had a great time. Campbell loves to be with his cousins, Ethan and Sydney, and little Bro-Yo just happily trails along.

We had 4th of July fun with sugar cookies, fireworks, etc.  What no pictures? I hate my camera and I forgot it...

Campbell has had lots of sleep-overs at Grandma's house when the cousins were staying there. For several weeks he had barely slept in his room at our new house. He was devastated the few times we wouldn't let him stay over. 

Also, my sister is a great idea source for my house so we embarked on a painting project and room re-do. Still a work in progress so more on that later... but it's been so nice to have her good taste around for ideas.

We will end their visit with a trip to IKEA and City Creek on Monday. Ahh shopping!

Campbell will be very sad when his cousin-buddies go back on the airplane far far away.

Sun Valley

Last week we went with all my family to Sun Valley, Idaho.  We stayed in a nice condo that fit all of us. Adam and I lucked out - by having the youngest child we got the master suite because the closet was big enough for the pack n play. Our bathroom was huge - a big jetted tub and double shower-head shower. I think my older sisters were maybe a smidge bitter. I told them they are welcome to get pregnant with another child and that might help for next time!
My sister had planned several activities for the families to do except none of which I could do with my young kids nor in my pregnant state; e.g. horseback riding and river rafting. So alas, I could not go to any of those fun excursions.  My mom and I took the younger kids to the park and splash pad.

I planned an evening of Minute to Win It games that I had "pinned" from THIS site.  It worked out really well 'cause they were silly challenges that every age could at least attempt. The younger kids weren't very good but at least they felt a part of the fun.  The laugh-out-loud highlight was the game how's it hangin' . I was having my mom help with the set up of it by tying yarn/string to a banana.  When I told her it needed to dangle between her legs, her reaction was priceless. Sadly, I don't have a pic of this 'cause I took video footage - but basically you tie a string to a banana and tie it around your waist and it dangles low between your legs and you have to basically thrust to get the banana to move an orange a certain distance. Adam challenged the brother-in-laws to see who had the best use of his banana. Hilarious.

Sun Valley is so pretty. I remember going there often when I was young but hadn't been there for years. We brought our bikes and enjoyed the nice trails, although at 25 weeks pregnant, my pee-holding capacity severely limited any miles upon miles riding. Here's the Sun Valley Inn. Very cute Swiss-look. The Lodge is quite fancy-shmancy, though I didn't get pictures of it.

On the way home we stopped at Shoshone Falls near Twin Falls. How cool! I was expecting them to be underwhelming, but they were quite a site!  See the rainbow in the left part of the frame? :)

I had a great time. My favorite part was in the evening playing games like Great Dalmuti or Malarky. 

It's just nice to spend time with all the fam, which I don't see very often with a family in Virginia. Here's the crew minus one bro-in-law camera man. I love those kids--they're good eggs.
