Remodeling

We have been working on our house for a while now, and slowly but surely it is getting done. Let me just tell you that it will be great to have it finished. When we moved into our home it was not what we remember walking through when we decided to buy it. The previous owners covered holes in the floor and holes in the wall and many other stupid things. It has been frustrating but we are now making it the way we want it. We just finished our 2nd bathroom so it's not nasty anymore (except when kayden keeps peeing on the seat and the floor). Before, we would sit on the toilet and feel like we were going to go through the floor.

Now we (Ryan) is working on the third bedroom and the living room. He tore out the wall only to find "no" insulation in the wall. That room was always cold. Today he has all the drywall up and he has totally fixed/made a new ceiling. Next it will be our living room. Hooray! I am so excited. Instead of boring you anymore with this post I will just post the pics. :) Have a good day!

These might be good?

I was watching Good Morning America this morning and there was a lady on it who makes all her meals with a slow cooker. I love the slow cooker but I run out of things to make. I thought these looked wonderful. The breakfast one looks like a good Saturday or Sunday breakfast. How would you like to wake up to the smell of breakfast. I also thought it was good cause you can make it while you kids are in bed and you don't have to worry about them "wanting to help". I don't mind when my kids help but sometimes it is nice to have no help. Anyways, I haven't tried them yet but I wanted to keep the recipes so I'm posting them here. I am also posting her blog to. I hope your all having a great week.

Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole

30-ounce package of plain frozen hash brown (shredded) potatoes
4 previously cooked sausage, or leftover diced ham (I used chicken and apple sausage)
½ onion diced
1 green bell pepper diced
1½ cups shredded cheese
12 eggs
1 cup skim or fat-free milk
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

I used a 6-quart slow cooker for this recipe.
Spray the inside of your crock pot with cooking spray. Dump in the whole package of hash browns. Spread them out with your fingers, and break up any clumps.
In a mixing bowl, mix the dozen eggs with the milk, salt and pepper, cheese, cut-up sausage and diced vegetables. Pour everything on top of the hash browns.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4. It's done when the eggs are fully cooked and the edges start to brown a bit. If you want the cheese to brown and get a bit crispy on the sides, cook it longer.

Buffalo Chicken Lasagna

uncooked traditional lasagna noodles
4 previously cooked chicken breast halves
1 jar of prepared pasta sauce
1 cup buffalo wing sauce
3 red, yellow, or orange bell peppers ( i think you can you green too)
1 15-ounce tub of ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar blend)
½ cup bleu cheese crumbles
¼ cup of water (add at very end)

Use at least a 5-quart slow cooker, or cut back on the amount of ingredients.

In a large glass bowl, combine cooked and chopped chicken breasts, the pasta sauce, and 1 cup of buffalo wing sauce.

Ladle a big spoonful of the sauce into the bottom of your crockpot. Cover with a layer of uncooked lasagna noodles. You'll have to break them to get a proper fit.
Add a smear of ricotta cheese to the top of the noodles. Add a layer of chopped bell peppers. Sprinkle on a handful of shredded cheese.
Repeat layers until you run out of ingredients.
Add the bleu cheese crumbles, if desired. Put the ¼ cup of water into your empty pasta sauce jar and shake. Pour the liquid over the top of the entire lasagna.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours. When cooking time is complete, unplug and take off the lid of the crock. Let it sit for 20 minutes before cutting into it, or it will fall apart. Ask me how I know this.

What have I got myself into!

Sooo... my husband comes to me and says, "So honey, what do you think about me getting a snake" Im like, "absolutly not!" I have always hated snakes and I didn't want one in my home. He says " What if I can keep it at my mothers..." That got me thinkin. hmmmm how can I be the BEST wife in the world and still not have a snake at my house... "Deal"

So later that night just after I got home my husband pulls up

With the snake

and wood to make a home for it

IN MY HOUSE!

WHAT THE HECK RYAN!!!

His reply, "I thought you were kidding"

I'M NOT KIDDING!

Long story short. Snake now lives in my house.

I figured if I'm going to have this snake in my house I need to blog it. And no better way to blog it than to Brittney spears blog it. You know... the one with the giant snake on her shoulders. Ahhhh bad idea. Almost every pose was a freak out pose... my face looking all distorted. Anyways, I tried. Then... Ohhh THEN...

My husband thought it would be funny to freak out his already freaked out wife. He switched it to video mode without me knowing it... and well, just watch and you'll understand.

By the way... I never swear. unless i am scared by a snake cause of my stinkin husband

Look where that snake head is... it's by my ear!

In the start I was getting mad at Kayden waving his hand in front of the snakes face.

Finally my internet is working!

I just wanted to let you all know that the reason I have been a slacker lately is because of major Internet/computer problems. I will be doing a better job!
