Soccer stadium

      We went with a few people from Alan's work to a soccer stadium. They  held the world cup there.

                       We went into the player's locker room and we took a tour of the whole stadium.

One Sunday we decided to go on a walk on a mountain. It was called Signal Hill. There where a great view of the water and there where some intresting animals like wales and theses birds.

Camps Bay

 These are pictures of Camps Bay our favorite beach in South Africa. The kids decided to play games on the beach.

 We enjoyed our trip the Theme Park they have here in South Africa.  The little girls enjoyed the merri-go-round.

 And the others liked the boat ride.

 The best attraction we saved for last. Alan and I and the three oldest took a ride on the sling shot.

 They dropped from two stories high, swung out across the water and back again. They loved it.

Penguins

 South Africa is famous for the animals found here. We had a great time visiting the site where Penguins live. This little baby penguin gave us a good laugh as he waddled along.

 100's on Penguins can be seen along this path.

The Farm

One of our first outings here was a trip to the farm. The kids tried to catch the cow but she didn't want oto be caught.

 I did catch the girls for a quick photo. They are always ready with a smile.

 Anna and Rebecca fed the baby lamb with a bottle and Emma harvested eggs from the nest. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Home away from Home

We are enjoying our new apartment here in Cape Town. It really is so beautiful here. When we were preparign to come everyoen that describe South Africa to me spoke of how beautiful it is.

 It is winter here now and the weather reminds me of a California winter. The days are warm with a nice breeze and the nights are a bit cool. We love the palm trees and view.

London

The Kids had a bet with their Aunt that if they could make the guard smile she would pay them $50. So as we toured London they were waiting for the moment they would see the guard and make him smile. They hatched plans on the airplane; on the underground; and on the tour bus. Each child had the perfect plan to make him smile.

 

So you can imagine the disapointment when they realized that the guards were behind a gate about 150 ft away from us. Emma also pointed out that they had the hat down so far it covered thier eyes. 

But it was  a great adventure to London. It was fun to be in the Land of Sherlock Holmes, Jane Austen and Dickens. 

On the Road Again

We have started our new adventure. We travled to Cape Town South Africa this week via London. We arrived yesterday so I have not yet downloaded our pictures. I'm sorting out the converters for the various electronics. I am happy to report that this time I didn't need a special lesson on how to run the washer/dryer unit in our apartment, and I didn't have to wait until the week before we left to find out the the washer and dryer are the same item. YEAH!
