Egg Salad a la...Burned!

Okay...so maybe this motherhood thing is harder than I thought!!

I was doing pretty good...got up, fed the baby, ate breakfast, etc., etc. Then it was getting close to lunch time and I thought...mmmm, egg salad sandwich sounds REALLY good, I'll just boil some eggs. So, I get out 6 eggs, put them in the sauce pan with water, put the lid on and put them on the stove. Thinking to myself...I'll go check on Drew while they start to boil...I'll be RIGHT back!

Well....an hour later this is what I found!! (Only after I heard the big BANG come from my burning kitchen!!!!)

Notice there are only 5 eggs left in the pan....that's because the 6th one EXPLODED all over my kitchen and dining area!! I'm still finding egg!! LOL

Visiting the Twins Is Hard Work!

So we went to visit the twins, Hallie & Brighton, yesterday!! OH my HECK!! Aren't these pictures hilarious?? Who's stinkin' cute, chubba wubba, baby is that in the middle! I guess I'm just totally up in the night at how "small" he is...oh, poor guy...he is still my cute little baby!

So much to love!

Auntie Kenna is here! YEAH!! Drew sure loves his Auntie Kenna...or should I say she sure loves him! She doesn't want to put him down. On Sunday, we were at my parents for dinner and my mom kept saying to McKenna..."I want to hold Drew" and McKenna wouldn't let her!! I guess when you fly half way around the world you have every right to hold the newest (or one of the three) family members as much as you want!!


Things are going really well! I am super tired though! But we are adjusting and just having so much fun with our "little" bundle of cuteness!! Drew is such a good baby! We are so blessed to have him in our home!!

A Visit from Gongy!

My sweet Grandma Bonnie came to visit me or I should say us in the hospital a couple times. The one time she got to hold Drew, he was in the NICU not under the bili-lights and I didn't have my camera with me!! So...anyway, Gongy, aka Granny, aka Grandma came to the house for a visit!! I love these pictures. Grandma..you look fabulous in turquoise and black!! Oh, and Drew thinks you're pretty hot, too! Look at that wink he's giving! Thanks for all your love, Grandma!

Exciting Day!!

I must be the worst mother...I have not posted for the past few days!!

Well, things around the Woolery home are...let's say... Wonderful!! Drew was having some jaundice issues and yesterday we finally got word that his levels were in a much healthier range thus ending our Bili-light days!! YEAH! Mama can hold her baby again!! He did so good under the lights...of course he loved it there all toasty warm!!

We ventured out to Wal-mart last night...I know, I know...what kind of mother subjects her 9 day old son to the vastly, germy world of Wally-World??? Let me tell you, he was quite covered and protected especially by his daddy...it turned out good...we ran into 3 friends so they got to sneak-a-peak at my adorable son!! I do have to say I really hate---love---no hate Wal-mart! We stood in line longer than it took us to shop...I could go on and on and on, but I rest my case!!

So, today should be rather exciting! Two new baby cousins enter the world in less than 2 hours and Drew's "favourite" Auntie returns to the Mother Land tonight for her long awaited visit!! YEAH!!! We are so excited!! What a fun day!! We shall post again soon...with some pics of course!!

It's Official....

...I'm in LOVE!!

I cannot begin to tell you how much I LOVE my baby (did I just say the words "my baby")! I love Drew so much and feel so very blessed to have him (finally). Heavenly Father has blessed us with such a beautiful gift...how will I ever repay Him! I feel so much love from my Heavenly Father and Savior. I am so grateful for this precious, entrusted gift.

Drew is so sweet and I must say the cutest baby boy I have ever seen! I love his face, eyes, lips, nose, cheeks, chin, ears (one ear folds over a little), hair (love the hair), hands, nail beds, fingers, belly button, bum (to be honest I don't know that I have actually lifted him up and checked out his bum yet), his chubby arms, legs, feet and his long toes. He has the cutest rolls on the back of his neck that I just want to nibble on. He has the cutest cry and makes the sweetest sounds! I LOVE THIS BOY!!!



After a very long 6 day stay in the hospital I am so happy to be home with my son and my sweet husband!! Wow! Watching my husband with his son is quite amazing to say the least...so it's official....I'm still in love with my first love!! I love you Sigh and thank you for helping me do anything and everything while in the hospital (& before & now after). I know the reason I am feeling so great after the c-section is because of how much Silas helped me with my stay there...he helped me out of bed, made me take walks, rubbed lotion on my dry, cracked, swollen feet and just basically did all that I asked him and didn't even ask him! He is very thoughtful and kind. I love him very much!! Drew has a great Daddy!!

I have to give a huge thank you to my family...especially my mom! She has been such a wonderful help to me as well. Not knowing I wasn't coming home Monday...you know just a routine check up...turned into you're having a baby tonight...she has done so much. Then she, Val and Evan came and cleaned my house on Tuesday. Oh, boy!!! How nice to know my baby would be coming home to a clean house...not that my house was filthy but I was supposed to have 2 more weeks, right? Even though those nesting instincts had kicked in, my lazy, 8 month pregnant body just couldn't handle it!! So thank you so much for that!!

So for those of you who have not met Drew yet...come take a gander!! I was telling my family last night (you know because I'm feeling so great) I want to show him off!! Take him around to all my friends and family and showcase him! But we'll wait to make our debut a little while longer, but feel free to call and come by for a visit.

First Official Drew Night

Last night was our first night of getting to hang out with our little Drew in our room. (He is still little to us.) It was a lot of fun. Amy had a renewed sense of energy and felt the miraculous power of Drew in our midst. I guess there is a sort of healing power or energy when it comes to new life.

We also watched a couple Steven Seagal movies. Drew really seemed to catch on to the spirit of Under Siege as they showed both 1 and 2 on TNT. He was much more interested in the acting than all the violence.

I tried singing Rock a Bye Baby to him, but I had a tough time with the words. I did much better with Rockin' Robin.

Drew made it!

Amy was checking in for just a routine 24 hour Watch the Blood Pressure Session. Before we knew it, the doctor came in to ask us if we wanted to do Caesarian or the other one. Since no dilation had even occurred, we figured it best to just get him out. It was a good thing too, because his shoulders are broad. The doctors had a little bit of a rough time getting them through there, even with a C Section. The other one would have been really tough.

Before I knew it, there was Amy getting sliced open on the operating table and me with Evan's gigantic camera trying to hold it steady enough to get some good live action shots. They pulled out this little white guy and he was kind of heavy. 9 lbs 8 oz. A mere 3 oz off of my prediction. 20 inches long.

Official Bedrest Ordered!!

As of Friday night I was put on strict bedrest by Dr. Melendez...he is soooo mean!! jk I had to do another 24 hour urninalysis, my favorite past time these days. So...when I take the lovely jug in I then head upstairs to Labor & Delivery for the NST and to wait for the results of the test. While I'm resting, literally, I don't even turn on the TV or read I get to listen. I love laying there listening to Drew's heartbeat, it's soothing and puts me to sleep. Anyway, the same issue has arisen with my blood pressure (get it "risen"). It just wouldn't come down this time. It wanted to hover around the 140/89 area which is borderline too high for the pregnant types. My test levels came back the lowest they have ever been at 141. For pre-eclampsia they look for #'s over 300, so I'm normal there, phew! But the doc still wanted me to be on bedrest for the weekend....

So here I am, being a good girl, and staying in bed. I have been in bed for the past 43 hours, give or take an hour or so when I get up to use the restroom, or take a shower. I feel like I'm getting bed sores already and I keep thinking about the grandparents in the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"...heaven forbid!!

Last night all the girls and kids came over and we ordered take out from Chili's so I wouldn't have to be home alone during the Priesthood session. Thanks MOM, Val, Jill, Jamie (Kendall's FIANCE), Courtney, Rylie, Saige, and the lone boy Cole for coming over to be with me!! It was nice to sit on my comfy leather chair rather than the bed for a little while! Cute Rylie kept coming up to me and would lay at my side and look at me with those gorgeous blue eyes and say "I love you!" And then she would rub my tummy and snuggle me!!

This isn't easy but I'm coping especially since I have my SWEET husband who is so willing to take care of me and for my supportive family! I'm comforted too by the sweet spirit I have felt while watching ALL of conference. Couldn't ask for a better weekend to be bedridden, that's for sure!!

1.What is your most embarrassing moment?
When I was living with my Aunt Peri for the summer down in AZ we went to a Diamondbacks baseball game. Needless to say at even the age of what...23 I still didn't have a grib on the whole female time of the month thing...it was awful...I will spare everyone the details (if you want them I will share) It was not only embarrassing, it was horrifying!!!
2.What is something that you think about and laugh at every time?
"Marwage! Marwage is what bwings us togever today!! Twu wuv...."
3. What is your favorite season and why?
I love Spring--it's quite refreshing after the long winter...oh when will it ever be spring!!! I do love summer as well...I never had to work during the summer....and now I never will again, except for now I get to be a mom!!!
4.Who is your hero?
Do I have to name just one person?? I will say my grandfather E. William Scadlock. He passed away almost 3 years ago after battling cancer for many, many years! He was a wonderful man and I love him very much!!
5.What have you learned throughout your life that you would share as advice for others?
To be close with you family!! They will always be there for you. I really love being with my siblings now that we have all reached the "adult" phase of our lives! The family unit is so important to me! Love you guys!!
6.What is your favorite goofy thing that your spouse does which makes you fall in love all over again?
When he sings opera and of course when he dances, especially, robot and break dance moves!! Love it!!
7.What is your favorite book(s) of all time?
I am totally with Christy on this one...Jane Austen all the way! I've only read (so far) Pride & Prejudice...but I love, LOVE her style and wit! The movies are all fabulous..but give her books a go! I do love the TWILIGHT series as of late!! Had to mention those, of course!
8.What is one of your pet peeves?
Tailgaters---ohhhh, I just want to slam on my brakes! (Sometimes I tap them though:) Also, when I can hear people chewing...drives me batty!
9. Where has been your favorite place to travel and why?
Last summer Sigh and I and some friends hiked down to Havasupai, in the Grand Canyon! All I have to say is...AMAZING!!
10. What do you love about yourself?
That I laugh a lot and I do have great legs when I'm not pregnant!! Can everyone say Cankles?
11. Would you take a million dollars if you never could use a computer ever again!? Only if my husband was still able to use his!!! But, hmmm, seriously that is a hard one to answer! How would I be able to do silly things like this anymore!!?
12. Favorite flower? I love the tulips in my yard! And I love Peonies!
13. What is one food you cannot turn down?
Chocolate, warm bread with homemade jam, and ice cream!!
14. Who is one person (dead or alive) that you would want to meet, and why?
I'm going to say....Emma Smith...because she had such a hard life, losing so many children, being married to the prophet, etc. It would just be interesting to hear her tell her story.
15. Are you a dog or a cat person? I love DOGS!! My cute puppy (100 lbs. dog) Forrest is so cute. He really is a sweet dog!
