Fantastic Fall Fun!

We had lots of fun the Fall of '09. It all started with the big guy's birthday. Another year older and better!

The cake the kids requested for Dad was, of course, a football. It is football season at our home. We are keeping a close watch on all the college football action. The Carolina Panthers suck this year so we don't worry about the pros.

Due to the sheer number of candles, 51, we decided 4 would be sufficient.

Halloween soon followed Dad's birthday. We had a ninja and Cinderella. They both got loads and loads of candy. It was quite a temptation for Mom and Dad. We tried not to snitch too many!!

On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, we decided to go camping. It is too HOT to camp in the summer. The Fall is the perfect time. Of course, it was extra cold that night but oh well. The kids had a ball.

The next day we decided to hike up to Hanging Rock. You climb about 800-1000 feet in elevation in 1 mile. We are full of energy and ready to hit the trail.

Mom was so busy focusing on breathing and keeping up with Jason and Trent, that there are no pictures of the trail up. Here is a view at the top. It was cool and quite foggy out.

We made it down in one piece. We were ready for a long rest which we got on the ride home.

Thanksgiving Dinner! We are so thankful for all the blessings Heavenly Father has given us.

Decorating the Christmas Tree! Dad and Mom don't need to do much more that set the tree up and the kids do the decorating. Of course, Aubrey continues to "rearrange" the ornaments everyday! We are enjoying our time together but wish we could see our family more often.

Our Newest 3rd Grader and Cub Scout!!!

I can't believe I have a 3rd grader already. It seems like just yesterday he was my curly blond- headed tornado running wild. Jason has grown so much. It won't be long before he is taller than me. He is still a tender hearted sweetheart though.

One of the most exciting things to happen in our house lately is we have a new cub scout. Jason was so excited to finally be a scout and has looked forward to this day since he was 2 years old camping with Daddy and the scouts.

At the first pack meeting, Jason earned his Bobcat badge. He was a bit nervous not knowing what to expect. After this meeting, he reminded me about 10 times to please sew on his Bobcat badge.

He is proud to be a scout and is already talking about becoming an Eagle Scout. He is totally awesome and I'm so happy to be sewing badges on his shirts for the next 8-10 years!! sigh!!

Marchin' on D.C.!!!!!

This is the crowd that rode with us on the Metro on our way to Pennsylvinia Ave. It was packed. Tons of people energized to let their voices be heard.

We came up out of the Metro and this was what we saw! Thousands of people heading to the Capital. Letting their voices be heard. (Smokin' all the way)

We didn't have time to make our own signs, so we gladly accepted these signs that were being passed out. Aubrey and Jason were excited to hold a sign, chant U.S.A. and march down the road.

There were people of all ages and backgrounds. People from all over the country. We talked with some ladies from Los Angelos, South Carolina, and Michigan. I think most states in the nation were represented.

Half-way down Pennsylvania Ave. Aubrey got tired. "Daddy please hold me!" She had to hold her sign up high still.

Wall to wall people. Everyone was polite and kind. I didn't encounter one rude person the entire day!

When I turned around I saw that we were standing with the "Astro Turf" people. People are so creative.

Of course, the only news truck we saw was FOX! Go Fox news!

Jason was feeling quite patriotic! Hopefully he can now see that standing up and letting your voice be heard is what being an American is all about. A man on the Metro that sat next to us shook Jason's hand and thanked him for coming to D.C. It was cool!!!!

Aubrey is right at home telling everyone exactly what she thinks. She loved the march and the chance to chant and yell like everyone else. This is one up-and-coming political activist!

Summer Fun with family!

The summer of 2009 was a busy and exciting one for our family. In July we had a Robinson Family Reunion at Yellowstone. We stayed in a lodge at Island Park, ID with all our "relations". We really enjoyed spending time with family and seeing all the wonders that God has created for us to enjoy.

But most of all we loved all the time spent with our family. There is nothing more comfortable than taking a nap with Grandpa!

These are memories that will last a lifetime!

I'm sorry to say but that seems to be my motto lately. I can hardly believe that it has been almost 4 months since I last posted something. So much has happened in those 4 short months, I will have to break it up into a couple different posts.

Let's start with May and June shall we?!!

Jason completed his first year in karate. He went from a white belt, to a yellow belt, to an orange belt and finally ended with a purple belt. He was challenged but worked hard and was so proud of his accomplishments.

Way to go, Ninja boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aubrey had her first dance recital also. (Please excuse the poor quality photography, I have no idea what happened) Anyway, Aubrey did a marvelous job and was not nervous one bit. She now wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.

Another very fun and exciting time was when Grandma and Grandpa Robinson came out to visit. We love it when they come and Aubrey and Jason love to climb in bed with them first thing in the morning. We are looking forward to their next visit! hint! hint!

Grandma and Grandpa also got to watch Aubrey and Jason's last soccer game. It was hilarious to watch Grandpa as Aubrey's coach tried to herd her little team around the field. I thought that Grandpa might just run out and try to help coach! Aubrey was so excited that she got a soccer trophy just like Jason.

Jason finished 2nd grade. He had a good teacher and did his best all year. He is a very hard worker. We are so proud of him.

Aubrey also finished school, PRESCHOOL! These are the girls from church who attended preschool here with Aubrey and I. We had a lot of fun and actually learned stuff too. We can hardly believe that we only have one more year of Preschool before heading to Kindergarten. What will Mom do with herself then?!

Running in the Sun!

Jason had his Fun Run at school last week and it was right during Preschool. I decided to take all the girls with me to watch him run. This is Avery on the left and Anika on the right. Of course, Aubrey is in the middle and really loving having friends with her. This combination of girls is a good one. They all got along great and had no squabbles.

All the kids started out strong! (Jason's in the red shorts) He took off and ran and ran and ran!

Toward the end of the run, kids had slowed down to walk. Only a few kept going. Go Big J!

Jason got a frisbee for participating in this fundraiser. Thank you for supporting him. He had a good time and is talking about doing it again next year.

Two days after this race, he had to run a mile for P.E. He was so excited because he was 2nd fastest in his class to run the mile. He said, "Mom, when I started I was behind. Then everyone started to slow down and walk and I started to pass them. I caught up with Kevin (the leader) and we were neck and neck. He slowed down and I kept running fast and got 2nd." A girl named Amy passed both boys to be first. (That reminds me of another Amy I know!) He was super proud of himself and we are too!

If you need a change of pace or a warm up come on out to North Carolina. We averaged about 88 degrees this past week. Saturday after playing soccer and melting in the heat we had to break out the little pool and take a dip. The water is right from our well and very cold but the kids managed to get use to it quickly. It was refreshing and reminded us that the hot summer is on it's way!
