The high school finishes (the school year) before the elementary school does by a day or two (or by several days when we have lots of snow days up here) and our past elementary grads often come visit their old teachers on those days. I asked one if they'd seen Nathan, who was on campus somewhere, and he said, "yeah, he was down in Mrs. K's room taking a Math Final, for fun."
that's my boy.
He got all A's and B's again this semester - so far for high school he's had 8 B's and 20 A's and he was on the Principal's Honor Roll, and he takes advanced Math and Science classes and Engineering and Architectural Design classes as his electives.
