2012 Update

I have been debating just not doing another blog.  To be honest I just can't seem to find the time anymore with my new job and blancing our lives right now but I also want to have moments to refer to down the road that reflect on the kiddos and their special moments in childhood. I can't catch you up on all that has happened since March but I can report the latest. Both of my babies are growing like little weeds! Jack is now 4 and in his last year of Pre-School before Kindergarten.  He still enjoys school and being the line leader and calendar helper. He is very good about meetings friends and loves playing and using his imagination.  He is obsessed with Spiderman and Batman right now.  (We will be Spiderman for Halloween this year.) He wants to learn to read and is getting closer. He is really good at soccer and really seems to enjoy it. He scored 8 goals a few weeks ago in one game and was over the moon!  He has a reward chart at home that he loves getting stickers for. He plays with Claire really well and he is referred to by Claire now as Bubby which is a name he has kind of adopted by us all. His  favorite food is still peanut butter and jelly.  This summer he became a fish and pretty much taught himself to swim by the end of the year.  (We still have some things to work on for next year but he can at least go under water swimming and tread water when he is up.) He loved jumping in and finding things in the water with goggles. He is really good at Monkey bars on playgrounds and he can climb around and go down the fireman poles like a 7 year old. He took gymnastics over the summer and while he might have his daddy's coordination- he definitely mastered forward and backward rolls. He can also do a flip on the bars all around.  He is also obsessed with playing the ipad.  ( I don't like this and limit this as much as I can.) He does enjoy a math game on there and he can do simply addition very well.  He knows all of his letters upper and lower case and he can write most of them without looking at a sample. Jack told me I should stop working that he would give me all his money which is so sweet. He still loves his hugs and kisses from me which I love and he loves to "Cuddle Bug" as much as possible.  He enjoys golfing with Greg and spending time as a family. He had two funny stories just today at school.  (IT makes me sad I haven't kept a list especially since these just so happen to be from today- clearly I have not documented a zillion!) Anyway- so his teachers told me today the markers dropped and Jack yelled "OMG! Pick those up!"   I was laughing bc he gets that from both myself and Greg. I also apparently packed princess fruit snacks for Jack at school today and he had his teachers open it under the table and pass them over.  I guess someone noticed and Jack told them they were actually Roary fruit snacks in a princess bag. When I got to school he told me not to send those again that he only eats them at home around family. I was hysterical. He has given up naps which I hate but he will not go to sleep if I try unless we are in the car. He loves looking for bugs, playing pirates, and going on scavenger hunts. My Poppy is getting lots of prayers from us lately as he is older and not doing so well but one night Jack started crying so hard.  He got really worried that something might happen to Poppy.  He said he has to keep living because he has the best ice cream ever. :) It made my heart smile. Jack also has noticed Amber alerts on TV.  He asked what they were about and I told him.  He said that those parents should have more babies because they love kids so much. He has such a sweet heart and is a very emotional child. Sometimes it is difficult to manage but I wouldn't ave it any other way. I am emotional and I know how he feels.  He is such a cute little spirit and I try to embrace all the things about him that make him unique. He is definitely getting older and trying my patience.  He blows me off and tells me he gets it that I shouldn't keep talking and so on.  ALREADY!  He has also asked for a friend to spend the night already.  He said "He lays awake dreaming about what it would be like"- seriously he is a drama King! For the most part he is a great big brother and even his teacher said when he sees Claire at Chapel during school he gets really excited.  He asked his teacher if he and Claire could be in the same class because he said "they are never apart."  I know I am leaving out so much but I will try and post as I remember.  Claire Bear is in her first year of Pre School.  She is doing good and has one of her closest girlfriends in her class that she talks about every day.  Apparently she has a little boyfriend named Ryan that she held hands with as well. She is a super cute little mess and I want to squeeze her and kiss her all day every day! She says the absolute cutest things and she is really into long stories lately.  She uses the word "though" as much as she can and always properly. She took gymnastics all summer with Jack and is now in a session alone.  She LOVES it! She can do forward rolls, flips on the bars, routines on the beam, rock climbing, floor exercises, trampoline straddles, and more.  She loves wearing her "LEO" but insists on pink vs black. She will listen to Mr. Frank her teacher and do almost anything he says. She asks to go 7 days a week. She also wants to play soccer with Jack.  She is actually pretty good but too young to play on his team. (clearly).  She often gives kisses and the best hugs and always follows with "I love you so much!" It melts my heart. I have had to go to TX for work a bunch lately so Claire will tell me often "Mommy you not go on a plane again without me ok?" It breaks my heart! Her T's sound like F's so for example. With is Wifh and to be honest- She can keep it that way for as long as she wants. I love it. Claire loves riding her bike and also all kinds of sports. She wants to have a baby now. She loves playing babies and will play babies for hours. Of course she also plays Spiderman with Jack.  She is Jack's little shadow. She told me the other day when she got to be 4 years old like Jack she would have a "pee pee" like him. Uh huh... Interesting... Her teachers have told me that she is so caring and when a child at school gets hurt or os sad she always is first to help them.  That was the same feedback I got from Jack's teachers at age 2.  So cute. She says her prayers and says "Please God Amen in Jesus's Name".  HEr favorite song is "This little light of mine."   She loves sweet treats and cheese.  I feel like my blog sounds like that annoying person her paints rainbows and sunshine in their life at all times.  LOL I haven't posted in so long I want to make sure I get all the cute things down for memories! Maybe one day Ill tell you all the bad.  :) Just kidding- aside from Claire not listening to me and telling me "NO" often and Jack being a whiney 4 year old w a lack of sleep- (the normal things that come along with these ages) these babies are the sunshine and rainbows I made them out to be. :)
