20 years ago Corinne and I at my birthday party! 

Present Day:

Corinne came over with her new baby Brooklyn. Brooklyn is 8 weeks old and weighs 9 pounds! She was so light! She is the cutest little thing ever, and that hair is awesome! 

 

I wish I could say Jadyn is giving her kisses because that would be so sweet but I won't fool you... she was trying to eat her hair. It was so fun to visit with Corinne and see her baby girl! I hope there are many more play times like this in the future. 

center of attention

First of all I got a new camera lens for Christmas and absolutely LOVE IT!!! I thought I took a lot of pictures before... but now... much more! Beware :)

Second, we had game night with the Cooper family Sunday night and can you guess who was the center of attention????

Grandpa and Jadyn doing happy baby together. (a yoga move) Grandpa has been doing this with her from day one so he is very excited she is doing it on her own now.

 Grandpa loves his J-bird. He would not let anyone open presents until Jadyn was awake. haha

Santa treated Jadyn very well this year. It's cause she is such a good baby :)

Paige and I were so excited for our hubbys to open up this gift! It is certificate to Burk Williams which is an incredible spa place. They get to go together and enjoy steam baths, saunas, jacuzzis, snacks, and a massage.

 The picture didn't quite come out but around the circle it says, "mommys little peanut" and in the middle it says Jadyn and there is a peanut charm. How clever of my hubby huh? i love it!

 He needed this so bad, his old one was falling apart big time! And we were so sneaky- he had no idea! 

christmas eve

For many years our very good friends John & Alice, (they are practically Grandma and Grandpa to us), dressed up as Santa and Ms. Claus and came to the house Christmas Eve after dinner. Santa comes to the door, while ringing his bells and carrying a big red sac! We loved it! He comes in and we sing and chat and then he gives us a gift, which is always our pajamas! One year he even brought a puppy dog! This has been one of our favorite traditions!!! It was even more fun with Jadyn, and it will be even more fun when she actually knows whats going on. :) The day was great... it started out with family pedicures, cooking, dinner, Christmas Eve program, Santa & sleeping by the tree. It's so sad how fast Christmas comes and goes.

 We have a picture of us doing this many many years ago and thought we would re-create it and we even have a new addition to the pile!

We made the boys take off their shirts and pose with the pj's! It was great- I should put together a calendar with all the shots and sell it! ha 

to grandmas house we go

My Grandma and Grandpa have been coming to our house for Christmas for over 20 years we calculated, but this year due to health reasons they can't make the drive to be with us. The one thing I remember most about all those Christmas years was nobody could go downstairs until everybody was ready... including Grandma and Grandpa. My sisters and I would go jump on them in their bed and try to get them to hurry out of bed. Then we waited on the top of the stairs... to what seemed to us as forever... but as soon as G-ma and G-pa were out of there rooms we went dashing down the stairs. Grandpa also always had the best Christmas Eve stories for our Christmas program. 

Since they can't be with us we drove to them on Monday and spent the day with them! Jadyn loved sitting on Grandmas lap and Grandpa was sure the natural with her. Jadyn gave them ALOT of smiles, it was sure cute. Grandma and Grandpa we love you, and we will miss you on Saturday but we also understand. 

Doug's name is officially "THE BABY HOG"

holiday fun

We have had many fun Christmas parties this past week and of course since this is the only time she can wear this outfit she wore it to all of them. :)

ears pierced

Jadyn got her ears pierced 2 days ago. I was kinda nervous about it ... well actually really nervous about it ha but after hearing from my sister-in-law I calmed down a little. Brandon came with me as well, which helped because when it came down to do the piercing I ran to the corner and covered my ears while Brandon was the one who held her down. I just couldn't do it! She cried and it was real sad, but she was done crying by the time we got out of the office. Afterwards I swear she was mad at me or something because the rest of the night she would NOT look at me! She would look and smile at Brandon but nooottt me. I was like what the heck, daddy was the one who held you down, maybe she was mad at me for ditching her for the corner???? It took till morning but she does like me again. :) Her cheeks are so big that you can't see them from a picture straight on... so I had to get a side view.

 She has to leave these in for 6 weeks and then we can put some "pretty" ones in :)

yakkity yak

Jadyn has started to talk (coo) a lot lately and I have tried and tried to get it on video but every time she would be talking she would then spot the camera and stop! It drove me crazy... I can't even tell you the amount of times I tried. The other night I hid the camera behind Brandon's neck while he was talking with her and this is the longest I got. (So please don't mind Brandon's neck in the corner.) She spotted the camera at the end so you can see what I'm talking about. 

FOLLOW THE STAR: A LIVE NATIVITY

This week was Jadyn's acting debut! Every year our church puts on a live Nativity at the Altisma building. It is really neat, its a recreation of the story of Christ's birth to remind us of the reason for the season. This is the 13th year its been going on. There are live animals and volunteer actors from the church and community. They have a lifelike manger set up on a hill outside the church building. Inside the building they have one of the nation's largest Creche exhibits with over 400 unique nativity scenes from all around the world. I love looking at all the different nativities. They are amazing! Anyways on Saturday night Jadyn was asked to be the baby Jesus!!! And I have to say she (even though being a girl) was the most perfect baby Jesus! The first session she slept and the second session she was wide awake just chillin and looking around. While Mary was holding her, she held her up and the light was directly on her beautiful face. It was so perfect because its all about the baby... the baby Jesus. I got a bunch of good pictures but one picture I took- everything was dark but the light shining on Jadyn. Just before we went to Follow the Star we had the missionaries over for dinner and they shared this scripture: Mosiah 16:9 "He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death." So as I looked at that picture where everything was dark but "baby Jesus" that scripture came to my mind. And so as the Christmas season begins and we see all the christmas lights I hope we think of Jesus Christ who is the main light. The light of the world. And that our light of Christ will shine to all those around us. It was such a neat experience to have Jadyn play baby Jesus, I'm so glad we agreed to it.
