Jan 14th Doctor Visit

Today we had a really good doctor appointment with Brittany liver doctor! The doctor is sending an appeal to move Brittany higher on the liver transplant list which mean she will get a new liver sooner. We will know in a couple days how much higher she is. The heart test came back good and so did the brain scan. They believe her liver is still growing but very slowly. They have put her on a high calorie diet because she is losing weight and they need her healthy enough for the transplant, so they told her to eat lots of ice cream and cookies (lucky girl)! She had some more blood work done today but we won't know the results until tomorrow. They feel she is as stable as she can get for now. She will continue to have regular doctor appointments and unless something new happens, we get to sit and wait for the call saying they have a new liver for her.

Back Home!

Brittany is home! The doctors have her stable again even though her levels are still low. We met with the blood doctor today and he said they are working very hard at finding a way to help her but so far no one has ever seen this before and everything they try isn't working. He said they are calling other doctors all over the country for help with Brittany's condition while we wait for a liver transplant. Next step is another doctor appointment with the liver doctor on Monday! Please keep praying for Brittany!!!

Unexpected hospital visit

Looks like Brittany is staying the night at Primary Children's. She has lost some blood and they are trying to stabilize her. I called her doctor this morning and they told me to bring her to the hospital so they could check on her levels. Ben took her to the hospital since I was student teaching and I had an observation today. Her blood leverls were low but she feels okay, just a little weak and light headed. They are doing a transfusion right now and probably again tomorrow.
