The big 3-1

This is the only picture I have from Ben's birthday 2012. It didn't end up being as great a day as I had planned on it being. We went on a morning run all together, then we all got showered and read to go. We were going to Disneyland!! We didn't make it there. We had some errands to run first and they ended up taking waaay too long. But this is the only picture I have. Dylan snuck into my jar of eucerine and got it all over himself. It was awesome. I thought Ben would have died from the horror (he hates looking at that stuff), but he actually thought it was funny. I'm glad it was documented, because it was funny! Happy birthday, babe! Sorry it didn't turn out very well. I'll make it up to you next birthday!

Here is the recipe for "Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies" Anna Olson, Food Network 3/4 c unsalted butter, softened 1/4 c granulated sugar 3/4 c brown sugar 1 egg 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 c all purpose flour 2 tsp cornstarch 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 c bittersweet chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate bc my husband likes that better) Preheat oven to 350•F. In bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with a paddle, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add egg and vanilla, blend in. Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Using standard-sized cookie scoop (or tablespoon, or whatever size you please really) drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet (I line with aluminum foil so I don't have to wash!). Bake 8-10 minutes, until barely golden brown around edges. The tops will not brown, but do NOT cook longer than 10 minutes. Let cool on sheet or wire rack for 5 minutes. Remove from sheet and cool completely ( they will be gone shortly after that!). Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies. **(The parenthesis are my notes.)

Look how small she was! I love a tiny little baby!

I laid her down on Dylan’s bed while I finished his bath and bed time routine, and she fell asleep there.  That is one of the cutest things ever.

Playing under her play mat. One of the first real times. Dylan helped overwhelm her with toys when we broke out the box of baby toys.

First baby pics

My amazing friend Casey came over to take some pictures of Brielle when she was about 7 weeks old. I love them so much! I just wish I had more!!

She did pretty well, but she got kind of cold and tired and hungry since we were just doing it at our house and I didn’t have a space heater or anything.  They’re cute and I can’t believe she’s already so big!

Between September 6 and 13.

Big flower, little lady.

First “tummy time.”  She seemed to enjoy it, at least for a little.  And yes, she is pulling her knees under her in the top picture!  So athletic.  ha ha

A name…

On Sunday, September 2, 2012 we blessed our sweet little baby girl at church.  She will now be named on the records of our church as Brielle Madison Dohm. Her father, grandfathers, some uncles, and some family friends were there to help giver her all the love and blessings our Heavenly Father has in store for her!

I totally spaced it and didn’t take any pictures with all the people who were there to support us! Doh! So I asked my mom to snap a picture of us just after church when we got home. Really wish I had been able to get everyone in a picture!

So here we are… don’t mind the fact that I look awful.  I was running late and didn’t get to curl it, like I had planned. Boo!

PS. My mom M.A.D.E. the blessing dress.  It turned out beautifully!

This was between August 30-September 6.

That pacifier says, “Do Not Disturb.” Love it.  I tried to get her to use them, but she didn’t like that size/shape then.
