Happy Birthday Nana and other things

Today is my Nana's birthday, she's a great lady and I love her so very much.
Last night, I went to Nicky & Julia's Baby Shower. I was able to buy them presents and participate in games. It was a good opportunity to meet everyone too because on Sundays especially the last few, there was a few people that have been away and a few them serve in callings like Primary so it was good to catch up with them.
School started back today, I know that I haven't got kids at school yet but I am really glad they are back meaning the shops will be quiet once again as well as everything starting up again like play group for Declan, amongest other things to keep me busy meaning there's more opportunity to blog exciting the going-ons with everything...yay!

the final part of the weekend

We had a final part of the weekend, we went and had a BBQ with Benn's brother Luke and some members of the Branch. (Richard & Evelyn Scott and their 4 kids, Aaron & Julia Clark and David & Sarah Tucker). It was pretty good and there was a lot of food. We told horror stories about childbirth (due to Julia about to give birth anyday now) amongest other things.

During the course of the day, David received a message on the phone, he showed Benn and they both jumped on the internet to checked it out. They came back talking they couldn't find anything. Anyway, they filled us in and told that President Hinckley died. I said I will check out the situation and I called my parents. First thing they said to me was, It's sad about President Hinckley so I went out to tell everyone that the rumour was true. We all felt sad and everything but it wasn't the matter of if he died, it was the matter of when. As bad as it sounds, I feel sad more for Heath Ledger, I don't know why.

Anyway, tomorrow is a normal day. I need to fix up a few things and tomorrow night, I am going to a Baby Shower for Nicky and Julia. Should be fun!

So far, this weekend...

Yesterday was Australia Day, Benn & I didn't get into the whole celebrations. Benn mowed the lawn, worked on the hilux and washed the car. I went to the shops and did the housework. Declan had a tough day yesterday, he was standing up near his toy box and then toppled over. He bumped his head on his steering wheel, then a few hours later he was sitting on my knee and somehow he lost balance and SMACK straight into the coffee table. He couldn't breathe now he's got a black eye.(see photo above)
Saturday evening we went to Nathan and Meagan's to hang out. We had such a boring night Friday night we felt that we should do something on the Saturday. It was good to hang out with the both of them. We have got a Barbeque on tomorrow. Should be a great day!

playing hide & seek

This is Declan playing his favourite game. I hide around the corner and Declan has to go find me. There's a lot of giggles all round.
Here is a picture of Declan's attempt, he's so cute, so lucky to have him!

Now that I have time...

I have just given Declan to Benn, they are watching manly stuff together (a 4wd dvd).
Had an interesting day...got up extra early this morning and went grocery shopping. I was away for a couple of hours and it wasn't that cheap too. My theory is that we are still setting up house so the first couple of shops will be expensive. I booked my air fare coming home from Melbourne (I am going to Melbourne for a week, I leave on Saturday, 16th February and come home on Sunday, 24th February.) I am really looking forward going because I get to spend time with my family and have lots of fun with my niece and nephews.
Benn came home early, and decided to go down town Raymond Terrace which was fun because we haven't looked around as much yet. My knee is giving me a bit trouble can't walk on it properly, having a tough time especially doing things with Declan like I can't bend down to pick him up or even run after him with changing his nappy, anyway I am just going to wait it out. I think it will get better on it's own.

Catching up!

I'm back, I am trying to make this a regular thing...

Anyway, I feel a bit sad today because of Heath Ledger. I remember falling in love with him in 10 Things I Hate About You and A Knights Tale. I even had 'A Knights Tale' poster on my wall when I was a teenager but then he did Brokeback Mountain and kind of lost interest in him but it's sad especially how his family heard (they heard on the radio) and also his 2 year old daughter growing up without a father because I see the difficulty Abram (Benn's brother) has growing up without any male role model in his life (their father died when Abe was just 2).

Had a pretty busy last couple of days...we went over to Lesley's house on Monday (I am on a Raaf wives forum and she's on that, she only lives around the corner from me) and she has a son that is a couple month older then Declan but they play great together. Yesterday Benn & I and the missionaries went around to Roly & Nicky's house (they are in our new branch) and had mission correlation (Benn is the Assistant Branch Mission Leader) seeing that Roly isn't always there due to the shifts he works (he's an RN). That was fun. They have the most 3 sweetest girls.

Today was relaxing...the plumber called by to fix a few taps and that's basically it for now. I still have to make dinner, we are having shepherd's pie tonight...yum

What a big couple of months it has been

I just want to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR even though, it has been a couple of weeks and give you an update. I promise that I will post regularly and give all the news headlines to you.

We are now in our new home at Raymond Terrace (30 minutes, north of Newcastle). It's a really nice area close to everything...shops, the beach and far enough away from all the fast food resturtants. Benn has started his new job as a gunnie even though he starts all his training next week and for myself I have settled into a new environment quite well. I am yet to do the make friends part but it will probably happen when all the kids go back to school.

Declan has settled in quite well. He's now a 9 month old! He has got over his nasty chicken pox which he got around Christmas (that will be a 1st Christmas to remember) and has got 4 of his front teeth. His personality is now starting to shine through as my little boy develops. He loves Mummy (of course all due to this wonderful seperation anxiety), shoes, arrowroot biscuits and new people. Even if he's a really bad mood, if a new person comes to talk to him, he will be really happy and act like nothing is wrong.

I love both my boys to pieces! Anyway, better continue on with my Sunday. I still have got an email to write to my raaf mother's groups friend in Sydney and a Sunday School lesson to go through again.
