extra ultrasound

I had a full ultra sound today to check on the baby. At my appointment Friday I was measuring a little small so they just wanted to check things out. Everything looks GREAT! They can measure alot more in an ultrasound and she is actually right on in her size. The tech said that today she would probably weigh in the upper 6 or lower 7 pounds and she will have another week to get even heavier. We also found out that she does have some hair!!
The c-section is scheduled for next Tuesday the 6th (the day before Berret goes back to school). My mom will be flying in Monday night and Berret and I are really excited to have her here to help out. We have most everything we can think of ready for the baby and are just anxious to meet little Hallie!
They don't normally print out pictures when the ultrasound is extra but the tech said this is one of the best foot shots she has ever seen this far along. You can see all 5 toes!

Today was a great day. A while ago I won a mini-session with an AMAZING photographer, Carly Carlson. Today was our session and she did a great job. Check some of our pics out at http://blog.carlycarlson.com/ .

I didn't realize how much my belly button was popping out! It was really fun taking pictures with Carly and Berret had fun playing with her little girl. If anyone out there needs some updated photos you should seriously consider Carly. Thanks Carly!

childrens sewing-jacket

I didn't think this project was ever going to end. I had to spend 4 hours in the sewing lab on a Friday night...lame! Most of the contsruction of this jacket was done inside-out so it was really confusing to look at and really hard to understand how all of it was going to work. I learned alot of things with it though.
*Fleece stretches easily and my lining fabric didn't budge so that causes some problems but you can ease in fleece quite well.
*Fleece is horrible to unpick because the stitching just sinks right in and you can hardly see.
*The feeddog has trouble grabbing really slick fabric like my lining.
*Ribbing can be a pain but it isn't that bad to work with.
*Lastly with all of my sewing classes I am no longer terrified of putting in zippers even invisible ones. The outside and the lining were assembled seperately then sewn together inside-out. The entire jacket was then turned right-side out through a hole in the seam of the sleeve lining. All raw edges are enclosed in the jacket.
My zipper was just a little short of reaching all the way up to the hood. To solve the problem I added a tab and button to fill the gap and it turned out to be a nice detail. Genius right?
Well I just wrote a bunch of jibberish about this jacket that probably doesn't matter to anyone but this jacket was alot more complicated for me to make than it looks.

new niece!!!

Warren and Allison had their baby Sunday November 2nd at 10:17 AM. Danielle was 5 pounds 1 ounce and 18 inches long. She was born about 5 weeks early but is doing great. She is being kept in the special care nursery and is progressing really well.

Allison looks like she is doing great. Doesn't Allison look amazing after having a baby!?!?!?!?

our halloween

For halloween I dressed up the tummy as a basketball and Berret was a basketball player. My ridiculously bright orange shirt is from DI and I cut a basketball out of felt and sewed it on. We had easy and comfy cotumes this year.
On Thursday we had a ward party that turned out great and was alot of fun.
For the Office fans here is Dwight and Angela actually its Jilliann, Berret's cousin and her husband Chris at the ward party. Oh and Jillian is wearing a pin that says R.I.P. Sprinkles.

And on Halloween we went to Brad and Ally's for a little party. Ally had a shirt with a Bun in the oven while Brad was the baker. Zak and Sam were also Dwight and Angela but we didn't take many pictures at the party except of Hunter. And heres Hunter the lion.

tuesdays and thursdays...if i'm lucky

So I get the opportunity to watch Hunter once and a while. He is so much FUN. The pictures and video are actually from tuesday today we didn't get to play...but tomorrow is Halloween!

He gets into EveRYthInG it is so funny to see what he finds interesting. He is just so dang cute.

He also really likes to run around the ottoman he goes around and around and AROUND. The video was taken towards the end of one of his strolls. Oh and he found all the belts and played with all of those so he is still wearing one of them.

just another project

In home decor sewing we finally finished our linen project. I made a tablecloth others in my class made runner, placemats, and napkins.

It was a simple project but it was kinda big and took a long time to iron my thick fabric with the double fold evenly. Just look at my beautiful mitered corners though...too bad they are on the back side.

not a whole lot going on

So there isn't much new with us. We just go to school and then Berret does tons of homework and I work on cleaning and various other projects. I recently got some of my sewing projects back from my classes. Take a look...
This is the sleeper I made in childrens sewing. Other projects I've done for that class have been booties, a bib, and a t-shirt. We are now making jackets.
These are the pj pants I made for Berret in clothing contruction. There are tractors and hay all over the fabric. This class goes quite slow the only other thing we've done is a pillow case. We are now working on button up shirts.
Floral arranging is a really fun class because I get to come home with flowers every week. Left-triangular arrangment Top-bud vase Bottom-corsage

Couple of weekend ago Berret and I went to Utah and had tons of fun. We got to go shopping at IKEA!!! It was really fun seeing Collette and Laura. This is a pic of Collette's house in the first snow of the year. Cute huh...

Berret and I have been pretty boring lately. We are both just in school and Berret has tons of homework all the time. My classes have been fun we have accomplished a few small projects in my sewing classes. Floral design has been actually interesting even though its been 2 full hours of lecture each class. Today though we finally got to work with the FLOWERS!! We learned how to properly put the wire through difffernt types of flowers and used the floral tape. Then we got to work more on bows that I find extremely frustrating. Put it all together and we have some corsages. Below are 2 corsages I made today.

Berret and I both have a name that we like but are not sure how we want to spell it. All of them pronounced the same.

School has been going well for the both of us. Berret is taking 18 credits accounting, economics, and business classes, all which require lots of homework and group projects. I'm just taking 12 credits of fun classes like sewing and floral design and I don't have very much homework because we haven't gotten into the big projects.

Next week school starts and Erica moved out to Idaho to start school. This means we got to see the Peacocks! I grew up with the Peacocks and I love being around them, they are fun and laid back. Seeing them is like a part of home coming to visit. We had the girls over for dinner Friday night and we were also babysitting Hunter for Brad and Ally. Hunter has grown up so much! He communicates with you so much now, he can even do 2 signs together like "more please." He just keeps getting cuter and cuter

Erica was in the talent show on campus. We all went up to see her and the Pickups were in town too and met us there.

On Saturday Berret and I went with our good friends Brad and Ally to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. It was lots of fun and very crowded. The Demolitian Derby had some intense first 3 heats! Berret is working on a video of the Demo Derby highlights that I'll hopefully post later.

We have been living it up this week as much as possible before school starts and its been lots of fun.

The first day we went out with Jill, along with Warren and Allison. We went to Ikea, Fabric Depot (boys went to Big 5), and we had lunch at TRUFFLE HUNTER. We all had the yummiest sandwiches ever. Everything there is homemade, the bread and even the potato chips. I was craving the veggie sandwich from here weeks before we even left. Truffle Hunter is probably my favorite restaurant!

Berret did the Cycling Psychos Ride to the Beach, a 70 mile bike ride on Friday. We camped at the beach that night.


Sunday we went to take Harris family pictures. The full family picture will come later.

Gavin! The last time Berret and I saw Gavin was in April and he would just mostly sleep on you. Gavin has such a personality and the cutest open mouth smile I've ever seen.

August 25th - Our 2 Year Anniversary!!!

We out to down town Portland, we had fun walking around and eating at Marrekesh.

Marrekesh is an authentic morracan restaurant. The tables are really low and you sit on cushions. The servers wear awesome outfits with short puffy pants, pointy hats etc. What is really fun though is you eat everything with your hands all 5 courses! We had lots of fun.
The day before leaving we went to the Portland Temple. Jill, Wes, Warren, Allison, my mom, Berret, and I were all able to enjoy this last night together.

This last weekend Berret and I drove down to Ogden to Collette and see the HOUSE she just bought. Laura and Erica are both living with her right now and we even got to see Becky too. It was tons of fun and Collette's house is awesome. Berret had fun doing man things like flexing his muscles taking out some post in her yard and fixing little things like the table Collette got from a yard sale. My old roommate, Kathy, who has also been Collette's roommate came to visit too! It was great getting out of Idaho and seeing old friends. This week were are going to visit our families in Oregon and Washington, Berret and I are really excited.
