Happy Halloween!

Cleaning out the pumpkins. Campbell would not put her hand in.

Some type of instructions being given.

Bill is now considered a master carver at our house. He will be making masterpieces from now on. Anything his little princesses ask!

Trunk or Treat at the church. James is a witch. Campbell of course had to be a T Rex and Taite a little pumpkin.

No school today so we did a skeleton craft. It kept them busy for a very long time. And they did a great job!

I was rummaging through some stuff in the basement and found some cute pictures. This is James with her cousin Camille. Another of James with her old friends from DeKalb. Rylie and Tanner. They are so big now. I love James' chubby cheeks!

Big Blue Eyes

She is growing up too fast. Really really too fast. But she is gorgeous just like her sisters.

Just a couple stories.

I have to write these down before I forget them.

Bill: James what do you do at recess?
James: I play with Faith.
Bill: What do you play?
James: We play house. I'm usually the puppy or pet Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Me: Really?
James: Yeah, but Faith wants me to climb and I tell her that I just can't. (holding arms like a T Rex) My arms are just too short.

Campbell found a learning to write writing tablet, sat at the table and started writing the letter C. When I noticed I told her that is was great and then wrote out Campbell for her to trace. While tracing the second Campbell she said: Mom you made it too hard.
Me: What do you mean? You are doing great.
Campbell: It's too long!
Me: What? Your name? Well, we could call you Cam or Bell if you want something shorter.
Campbell: Dino isn't very long.
Me: Nope, dino is not very long.

Luckily she didn't ask me to start calling her Dino.

Back story: When Bill was younger he was called William. When he had to start writing his name he chose Bill because it was shorter to write. How much of who you are is in your DNA?

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's

Taite always takes a little time warming up to people. When she saw grandpa she didn't know what to think. By the end of the day he was her best friend and she would kick her feet when she saw him.Grandma took us to get pumpkins. Down the street from her house there was a boy selling home grown pumpkins in his front yard. Campbell, of course, picked the biggest one she could see.

They had this "mooning" display. And Campbell had to touch. Both cheeks.

We brought one of our watermelons (from our garden) and cut it open. It was delicious!

The girls never miss an opportunity to jump on Hannah the friendly pony.

James ran up behind the equine in her bat costume and spooked them a little.

My parents are starting some fruit trees. Earlier this year we had some delicious pears. This trip we got to pick apples. James was in heaven.

I forgot to pack Taite's hat, so we borrowed one that my cousin Jamie knit. So cute!
