Can we say HOT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

(for journaling purposes again, it is not the 20th of may...I don't have a clue why it is doing this! Any suggestions???) TODAY IS JUNE 3, 2008

So, we went for a 10 minutes walk to the park. Played for maybe 15 minutes and then walked home again and we were all sooooooo RED in our faces. No we are not sunburned, just red. It was so hot outside to me. I'm afraid to think that it is only june here, it is only going to get hotter and I don't know if I can stand it this year! normally i adjust pretty well, but i have been cooped up so much, i kind of missed all the good weather and just don't want to think that i have to endure this another 3 months! Owell, i just have to remind myself that at least our winters are miserable cold and no icy weather to drive in!

We are babysitting my sisters little girl until friday and she just looks miserable. We cooled off with a few otter pops and she finally got the hang of it!

I just thought it was funny how every single one of us was RED in the face, even baby Jeric. Must be a family trait, we all look so awful!

Our Missionaries are HOME!

My dates have been posting weird, so just in case it is wrong...today is June 1st, 2008! Brad's parents got home on May 28th, 2008. (just for journaling purposes) Read on!

Our Grandma and Granpa finally came home on the 28th, from serving an 18 month mission in Santiago, Chile. It was so good to see them again!!! We were crazy busy with cleaning their condo and getting their cars ready before, and since they have been home...we have had nothing but late nights and early mornings! We are all so exhausted and tired but having fun along the way and love that they are home safely!

The kids had fun riding on gma and gpa's luggage while all the hugs and kisses were going on! Once they got theirs, they were interested in funner activities! ;)

We have had a busy weekend. From an LATE, LATE night their first night home and then friday we did the Lake for 5 hours and then some of the parents went to the temple, kind of last minute planned. Then saturday we had a bridal shower for brad's sister that is getting married the end of this month. Then we had another...YES ANOTHER...get together with Doug and Keli because they blessed their little baby girl, Abri, today. So we have been jam packed and I think we have used a whole tank of gas in the last three days!

Gma and Gpa have a lot to catch up on, 3 new grandbabies, a new soon-to-be son in law Rick and many changes in the grandkids. So we are lining up the dinners for them and so glad to have them home!

High School Tag

If you could go back and tell your teenage self one thing, what would it be? Enjoy it a little more! Don't worry so much about what other people think of you...be who you are and love who you are. Don't take everything so seriously.


Did you do any extra curricular activities in high school? A Cappella, Spanish club, Orchestra

What did you do with your free time? I worked everyday after school 'til 6:30 then it was usually homework and bed. Weekends we would just hang out at daisy's or molly's.


Coolest thing you did as a teenager? I don't know... my dad let me go with my friends to the sunshine tournament as long as I would be back sunday morning to speak in stake conference and he let me miss the last 3 days of school to go to Lake Powell with friends for our senior trip (he never approved of ditching school). I was putting sunscreen on like crazy, because i burn so easily. Seriously, like every hour. I woke up the next morning so sick and could not walk. I was FRIED!!! My friends dad looked at the sunscreen bottle to see if it had expired. Nope! My mom had bought SPF 5, but at the top it said 45% more, she must have seen that and assumed it was SPF 45. I was basically just rubbing water all over every hour. Anyway, came home night before graduation, could barely walk, had to go and buy special shoes because my feet were so burned and had to sit while everyone else in A Cappella stood to sing our songs because i would get these sharp shooting pains in my legs and they would collapse. I was worried someone was going to have to walk up for me to get my diploma. Needless to say, I am still scared to this day to spend too much time out in the sun and I ALWAYS MAKE SURE IT IS SPF 45 or higher! ;)

Did you have a boyfriend in high school? Yes, a shortlived one, Scott and then I don't know if you'd call us boyfriend/girlfriend, Dustin and I hung out ALL THE TIME dated a lot, but i never kissed him. We did this for about three years before he went to college.


Songs that come to mind? don't know the band, but it went like this..."an i would walk five thousand mile and I would walk 5 thousand more..." I don't remember it is was hundred or thousand...


If you could change one thing, what would it be? I would have left poor chad ashby and meagan wilson alone! I would have NEVER written a note to chad, EVER! I regret that to this day. I was so annoying to them, I am sure! I look back and laugh at what i dork i was,for having this "crush" on him since 6th grade, but i still do feel so dumb about it and wish i could take it back. I would give anything to take it back! Sorry you had to put up with me guys!


What did you want to be when you grew up? I was dead set on becoming an accountant. It took me seven years just to get my associates degree (a wedding and three kids later) and now i just stress too easily and that would not be my first choice. I think now I would like to own a floral shop or something like that.

Me as a Senior

Craziest thing you did in high school? well, i had dated this Dustin kid quite a bit and my dad was trying to enforce his dating rule...we could only date the same person two times and then we had to go out with someone else before we could go out with that person again. So, one time my friends called, all knowing my dads rule, and had their boyfriends ask me out. Their boyfriends would come and pick me up, the we would all go and get Dustin and then go on our date. So basically, one guy would pick me up and then i would really be going on the date with Dustin. One time we just went to berry's because my parents were out of town or somthing. We were there and my mom's best friends came in and saw me. Not knowing i wasn't supposed to be with him. Later in the week she told my mom that it was good to see me and dustin the other day...uh, let's just say I was perma-grounded. My dad was not a happy fellow and I felt so bad for lying to him.

Happy 3rd Bday

happy birthday to coleman. He turned three this last week and requested a "Cowboy Up" party. So we had them shoot at tin cans with water guns, pin the hat on the cowboy and we were supposed to have horse rides for them ( a lady in our ward offered to bring a horse down and give rides to the kids) but it was sooooo windy that day, the horses were spooked and she didn't want anyone getting hurt. But, she did promise that one of these days when it's not windy, she will let D and C come to her house for a ride. He is eargerly awaiting that day. He got a lot of fun things and had fun with his friends. His favorite is the cowboy hat and shirt. It was a good day and he had a lot of fun and is ready to turn 4, just to have another party!

Happy, Happy Mother's Day

Well, Mother's day started out rough but ended up turning out great.

Since we have church at 9 a.m. and three kids to get ready, brad made my breakfast on saturday, after he let me sleep in. He made buttermilk pancakes, with raspberry syrup, eggs and sausage.

Then on Mother's day, we went to church, I had to be on time, to play piano for primary in sacrament meeting. We got there and the kids were on one! After I played, i took D out about three time and Coleman twice and then brad just took them home to talk to them. Then I felt bad he was home with them and missing church, so I walked home to help with kids. After some talking and making them practice being reverent (ha, ha) we went back to church for them to make their "Mother's day" cards, crafts or whatever. I promised D that that was what he was missing by being home. Well, when I picked them up from their classes, D shouted ,"Mom, you'ra a liar! We did not make anything for mother's day!" He was mad at me for the next few hours. I just assumed, since I had always made things when I was little and with my classes i've taught.

We went home and had burned grilled cheese sandwhiches with soup. Then brad let me take a long needed nap, but it was one of those you wake up ornerier then when you went down. So, after a little he made me a delicious grilled chicken salad with fresh crumbles bacon on it and real ranch dressing. What i mean by that is not light, it was the real, hidden valley homemade fattening ranch dressing and it was soooooooooooooooooo good!

Then he made me a yummy homemade buttermilk chocolate cake with whipped cream and fresh sliced strawberries from our garden. He got me a new griddle, the boys wanted to get me a HOT PINK bath towel and brad let each of them pick a bunch of flowers, D picked roses and C mini carnations. Brad also got me a bag of my favorite, Milano Mint cookies and a costco membership! So, it was a good day for me! Brad even wrote in the card! :)

Super Saturday Craft Ideas

This is why i haven't posted in a while. I am the Enrichment Coordinator in our ward and we are doing a super saturday in July...I have been getting the sample projects ready for sign ups to start this last week. We are doing three different sizes of the the candy/cookie jar, i only show the lg and sm here. The family file folder is to organize all those loose papers/bills on counter tops, I love mine! The brown/beige and green/blue frames are made from that foam posterboard which sounds cheap, but are really cute! Paper crafting frame and then the glass etching on the vases, F is for Flowers, in case people might wonder. Anyway, take a looksie, let me know what ya think.

My life as a Wife and Mother

I have just been very overwhelmed with motherhood lately, with the addition of a third child. I had to go back and remind myself of all the FUN times we do have and that this adjusting period, in due time, will pass. I have decided motherhood is a HARD job for me. I did much better in the office! But I have chosen this for the time being and hope i get better at it each day. It truly is a blessing in my life and has made me a stronger person!
