And just like that, Devin turned 10 months. What is Devin like at 10 months? Well, let's just say it's a good thing we have been out of school this past month, because I'm not sure we could get much done. Devin is very mobile now, quickly crawling around the house and up the stairs, and standing up unloading every cupboard, bin, and shelf he can reach. We have to keep doors closed to keep him out. And we can't let him play outside unsupervised, even though he'd like to be out there a lot. He puts everything in his mouth. Every rock, twig, clod of dirt, leaf... and even the seaweed at the beach.
I hear all the time how girls are just so fun to shop for and boys' clothes aren't that fun. I guess I can't argue because I don't shop for a girl. But I love boy stuff. I found this Captain America swim outfit and fell in love with it. So cute.
His brothers try to block him in the front room - which is mostly baby-proof. Clearly, he doesn't appreciate that.
When you go towards him to stop him from doing something, he squeals with delight and tries to do it faster. He loves going to the beach. He crawls all over the sand, exploring. And he heads straight out to the water.
Devin learned to pull himself into the bathtub. So showers are interesting now if his brothers aren't around to play with him instead. One of these times, he's going to pull himself in and get a good soaking.

Devin sure loves his brothers. He loves to laugh and play with them. He loves to eat all kinds of foods. He loves to hold straight things in one hand. Give him a plastic spoon and he will hold it all day long. He even fell asleep with Jesse's drumstick one night.
He had his first visit to a pool. I got him this swim raft to float and play in. He did not like it at first. But he warmed up to it after awhile and loved being in the pool. We went to a rec center pool that had a zero-foot entry. I thought it would be great for him to sit and splash, without waves coming in and out like at the beach. But oh no, he crawled straight for the deeper end and kept on going, even with water splashing in his face. No fear, this one!
