We had a fantastic Halloween! The kids wore their costumes to preschool and had a great day. Then we had a little photo shoot and went to dinner with Daddy and Grandma Powell. After dinner we had another mini photo ahoot that Daddy took. We went to trunk or treat at the church and ate tons of candy!
Brandon and my dad went on two hunting trips in October. The first the hunted for deer and the second for Elk. They were successful in the first trip but not the second but they had a great time!
While the boys went hunting the kids and I went to my mom's house. We had such a fun time. We had a mushroom party and a squash party. We bought 7 different types of mushrooms and enjoyed trying them all to see what we liked best. That went so well that we tried it again with squash! The kids loved trying them even though they didn't really like the food.
Lydia got about six inches cut off her hair this month. It looks so nice. She will let me comb it and keep it looking nice which is huge for her. She was very scared that using scissors on her hair would really hurt but luckily for her hair doesn't hurt when you cut it! Getting her haircut also helped get curls. They are tighter now and so cute!
We finished our first homework assignments tonight. An all about me poster. The kids had a great time. They even willingly cleaned the toy room so that Mommy would let them do their homework. Dont think that enthusiasm will last through high school...but we will use it while we've got it!
The kids started preschool this week. We've been talking about it for weeks and they were so excited! On Tuesday they had an open house which was basically a practice day where parents stayed with thier children. Isaac and Lydia both cried when it was time to go home. Wednesday was their first real day and they had a blast. As soon as I got there Lydia asked if she could go to school again tomorrow too! I don't think she understands that she's going to go everyday for a long while.
On the way home they both said their favorite part was getting to stay and play WITHOUT MOMMY!
On the way to school Isaac and I had this conversation:
Isaac: Mommy, I really need to go poop.
Mommy: You'll have to wait until we get to school. You can't poop outside.
Isaac: Yeah, because only chickens and dogs are allowed to poop outside. Nothing else.
Mommy: Other animals poop outside too. Only humans poop inside.
Isaac: They do? Insert open mouth
