the home stretch

well, i am now in my third trimester. in less than three months (hopefully!) i will be holding my beautiful baby boy. i am more than excited about holding him and being able to love him and love on him. i already love him so much and i know that love will continue to grow and that's what i'm looking forward to.

these last few weeks have been good and kinda scary. we have decided to name our baby teancum james. such a strong name and i get goose bumps every time i hear it. baby teancum is very active, particularly on my right side. i'm no sure why, but he seems to enjoy either kicking me like crazy or simply pushing his entire body into the right side of my belly, all on the right side. i very seldom feel him on my left side. i love feeling him, but sometimes it's a little uncomfortable...

of course that's all the good part of the last few weeks. the scary part is that i seem to be getting very light headed very easily. and if i'm not getting light headed, then my heart starts beating so fast that it feels like i just finished running, all by doing the simplest things like putting on clothes or brushing my hair. i don't know what's cause this exactly. it could be my low blood pressure, which my last appointment said i have, or it could be something else. we don't know yet. i've been trying to take it easy and not do too much too fast, or sometimes not at all. there are some things that i have to leave for jon to do because i can't do them. i at least try to keep up with the dishes and the laundry, but sometimes that doesn't even get done. i've also tried adding more protein to my diet. it seems to help, but i can't be sure because even before adding the extra protein to my diet i would have good days and bad days. some days i can still do everything i need to, other days i can't do anything but sit on my couch. hopefully we can sort this out soon so i can get back to putting together my baby's room.

other than that my summer has been going well. i've been able to read all the books i want. i check out about 4 to 6 books a week. :) so yes, a lot of reading. :) and i've been preparing for my baby shower, which will be on the 16th. i'm very excited to celebrate this happy occasion, and to show off my baby belly. ;) i also want to say thank you to everyone for keeping me and baby teancum in your prayers. they help so much and i am so grateful to have family and friends that are so willing to help where and when they can. thank you.

till next time. :)

pregnancy

last tuesday we found out we are having a boy. i am so excited!! i had wanted a girl because both jon and my family are a bit overrun with boys, but now i am excited to add one more to the mix. :) i am grateful that he will have cousins his age on both sides as well, something i didn't expect.

i will be 22 weeks on monday and i'm feeling good. in the first trimester i would get nauseous a lot, especially if i smelled something that i or my baby didn't like, but i never actually threw up because of the nausea. i've also been very blessed to never have any problems with heartburn. i've been able to eat anything i want without any problems, though i've taken my pregnancy as an excuse to eat better and healthier rather than eat anything that has been put in front of me. this trimester everything is good. i've had no problems up to this point, which again i am very grateful and happy about. he is good and healthy. he likes to play soccer with my ovaries quite often, so at least i know he's active. even though i can tell when he moves or when he's awake, i still can't feel him from the outside. i know it'll come, but i guess i'm just a little impatient. both of us are healthy and i am happy. :)

my baby's name will be teancum james. teancum from the book of mormon, cuz it's a cool name from a really awesome guy, and james because it's jon's dads name. it doesn't hurt that no one has this name either, something i like. :) i am so excited to start looking for boy things. cute and cool clothes that i'll get to dress him in, books, toys, baby room stuff. i'm just so excited!! yesterday i registered at babies r us and at bed bath and beyond. today after i'm done in the dark room, i plan on going to target. i can't wait to really start planning my baby shower and i really really can't wait to have my pictures taken. june is just not coming fast enough...

well, i believe that's all for now. love you all. and thank you for all of your love and support through all of this. :)

news

the best present i could have possibly have gotten at christmas, i got. i found out i was pregnant. :) it was such incredible, wonderful news, but i was still afraid because of my previous experiences. so this time i only released the information (two days after i found out) to my siblings and parents. as time has gone by and no real issues arose it became more difficult to keep it from people. i had to inform my teachers in case something happened while i was in class, and a few friends came to stay one weekend and i found i couldn't really keep it from them because, well, they were in the same space as i was for four whole days. the news was bound to come out. i was determined however that the world (facebook) would not know until i was at the end of my first trimester. i have made it. we have made it. and we are thrilled. :) today we had a doctors appointment. it was my second, but the first time jon could make it. he couldn't stop smiling during and after the ultrasound. :) i love to see him so happy about our baby. it makes me all the happier. :) anyway, i thought i'd share my most wonderful news with anyone who reads this. i hope you all have a happy, happy day, week, month, and year. i know i will. :)

love day

This Hearts On Fire 1

i love valentines day. it's one of my favorite days of the whole year. even when i was single i loved valentines day. i love the flowers and candies and all the men (and women!) making such an effort to show the ones they love just how much they really love them. seriously, how can anyone not love this day when there's just so much love in the air. :) i haven't received anything special today. nothing to show that my husband loves me, but i don't mind. today when i walked into his office i saw his eyes light up, just from seeing me. that is all the proof i need. i love that man, more than i could ever say. more than i could ever show. he's my favorite person in the whole world and i still can't wait to spend eternity with him. besides he makes me dinner all the time, and he's really good at it too. :)

cruise day 3: ensenada, mexico

on the third day of our cruise we stopped in ensenada, mexico. it looks a lot like arizona, except for lots of ocean views. while we were there we had an opportunity to go to a blowhole, it was pretty cool, but the fun part was going through the market to get to the blowhole. there were tons and tons of venders selling their wares, and all of them would be yelling over each other trying to get you to come into their "store" to buy what they were selling. i'm pretty sure i said no more times in that market than i have in any other time in my entire life. but the products they had were pretty amazing. i was able to get this really cute dress for a good price. luckily i'm short so i don't have to worry about modesty, but for the top of the dress i'll need a cardigan. i'm hoping to find one when i get some money, but until then i just get to look at it. :) anyway, hope you all enjoy the pictures. :)

yes, that is a real lion cub
this pretty flower is what they use to make tequila. :)
on some of the older building they have these rose windows with very attractive iron work coverings

cruise day 2: catalina island

on our second day of the cruise, we woke up bright and early, had breakfast, then went and walked around catalina island. it's absolutely gorgeous there. and everything is small; the houses, the cars, everything. except for this one tree that we walked by, holy moly, it was huge. i got a picture of it, but i didn't get one with either me or jon by it so you could see how big it really was. still, it was big. most of the cars were actually golf carts, or smaller versions of regular cars. there were a few regular cars, but they were few and far between and all of them were either suv's or vans. anyway, i hope you ejoy. :)
this is actually a casino...
bell tower
the water on the beach was so clear, you could still see everything
everywhere on the benches and walls there were these really cool tiles.
little Chevy truck/golf cart. so cute!
really big tree
don't you just love the christmas tree surrounded by palm trees? :)

cruise day 1

so, i know i told everyone that we were going on a cruise and then i said we weren't going on a cruise. well, we tried to sell our tickets and we tried to postpone the trip, and neither option came to much use. they wouldn't allow us to sell the tickets and when we tried to postpone, they would have made us pay a lot of extra money to do so. so, since neither of those options were availible, we crunched numbers and decided to go anyway. we barely made it, but it was worth it. :)
on our first day, we drove down to L.A. parked in a parking garage and walked around taking pictures waiting to get on the boat. it was fun, and L.A. is gorgeous. :) we didn't do much when we got on the boat, both of us were super tired for having drove all night (seriously, we left twin falls at 9:30 pm and arrived in L.A. at about 10 am) so, the first thing we did was take a shower. we then walked around the boat a little bit, ate dinner and went to bed. i'm pretty sure we were both asleep by at least 7:30 or 8, we were that tired. anyway, here are a few pictures. hope you enjoy. :)
both of these are of the aquarium by the convention center where we parked
isn't this just gorgeous!? these trees are everywhere in L.A.
just hangin out with the birds... :)
these last few are of a little village like place along the shore. it's cute and every building is a different color. :)
