NKOTB 4 Eva

My friend Theresa and I decided to drop some sweet cheddar and go see NKOTB, 98* and Boys II Men at Jobing.com Arena.  The tickets were 30!!! BUCKS  so we were not sure what to expect.

Well, as expected, there were a lot of, um, "special" people there.  Let's just say Mom Jeans & Kitten TShirts are alive and well.

The sadness of the fans made me sad and this lead to me being sad for NKOTB.  What would the show be like? Would I be embarrassed for them? Would I cringe when Joey tried to do the 'hanging tough' arm swing?!  It was all so scary.


We got in to the arena and our seats were good; lower level and off to the side above the stage.  I ended up getting some good news from a work contact and they came to meet us at our seats to say hi...and offer 2 vip upgrades.  So ya, i took them and ran!  Work isn't the worst :)  4th row from the main stage.  But would we just be closer to the sadness that is a 40 y/o boy band? Only time would tell.

Boys II Men started. They were okay.  No pics came out because they were all wearing white and the pics came out stupid.  Also, I didn't realize until a few days later that there were originally FOUR members and only 3 were there.  One of them did the running man.  It was boss.

98* were adorable.  One of the guys grew in to quite the looker of a dude.  Like hurt me hot.  Not a Lachey either or that other one...THAT one. He's hot.

There was a 15 min break before NKOTB started and I was nervous but ready.

It took about 15 seconds for me to LOSE.MY.SHIT.  The moment I saw them on stage i lost it...and i'm still losing it.  Those fools have it.  I came close to slapping a stranger when they performed You got the Right Stuff.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. My inner 10 was out in full swing.  I got teary eyed during several songs.  Hello!  I had a Joey and Jonathan doll, NKOTB sheets and ALL of their CDs.

During Tonight (la la la la la Tonight), they came down and I got to shake hands with JOEY!!! Danny and Jonathan!!!!  I couldn't even deal.

The whole night was pure magic. Thanks to Social Media I am now even more determined to make a Christmas Card w/ them or at the very least share a drink or child.

So watch out.

So...a recap since last September:

~ Went to Kansas City again w/ work.  They took us to Yardhouse....a KC delicacy #fail

~ Saw Brad Paisley & The Band Perry.  One of TBP guitar guys winked at me and we dated for the rest of the show.

~ I dressed up my brother's dog, Layla, as a sheriff.  This lead to one of my favorite phrases "She was taking law in to her own paws"  I'm still laughing at that.

~  College football gave me a heart attack

~  The Diamondbacks broke my heart

~  I went to NYC and shenanigans occurred w/ Molly and Nicole

• Hot Dog carts on every corner
• I have a perfume guy in China Town.  Scariest purchase of my adult life
• Assisted with driving the Staten Island Ferry.  It was awesome
• Ate a few tins of Garrett's popcorn
• Popovers, wine and 10000 desserts

~Saw Springsteen in concert....and saw him perform Santa Claus Is Coming To Town LIVE.  may have teared up--no proof though.

~ A trip to Lake Havasu City for the Hot Air Balloon Festival led to a weekend in Vegas and more Garrett's Popcorn.

~Visited Reno for the Safari Club Convention.  Enjoyed an adorable dessert that looked like a hamburger and french fries.  win/win!

~Celebrated my Great Grandma's 99th Bday.  My family is a bunch of stone cold weirdos.

~Visited my beloved Chicago.  More shenanigans w/ Molly.  It was determined that we got more action in jeans and Iowa Hawkeye Hoodies than we did w/ our jam jeans on.  More Garrett's popcorn.  Also, I am not allowed to drink Gin while smoking.

~Team Building w/ my coworkers...?

~Weekend in Vegas again...more Garrett's popcorn and AWESOME HAIR.

~Bon Jovi....that's all you need.

Sweet Home Chicago



Earlier this month I was able to visit my 2nd family in Chicago.  I was lucky enough to be there for over a week. 

My goodness, it is amazing how time flies.  Both girls are such wonderful people.  Caring for them as toddlers and young children was so much fun but seeing them now as..dare i say, teenagers is a different kind of fun.  Going to Target, Sephora & Old Orchard Mall is more about clothing than going to the toy aisle LOL.

 

Naturally, we took a trip up to Milwaukee for a Brewers game and stop off at the mothership, The Mars Cheese Castle.

We had seats right above the Astros bullpen.  Needless to say, we made friends fast.  The girls got a ball, bags of sunflower seeds and packs of gum.  They are fans for life.

 

Looking forward to going back again....or just move back already!

Instead of doing 10000x posts about the hilarious and awesome things I've done over the past year, I'll just do a recap here and assume that you know what I"m talking about in future posts.


* Visited 4 new stadiums : Kansas City, Anaheim, Los Angeles Dodgers & the Shitty San Fran Giants.

* Went on some really great trips (see above)

* I visited Chicago and my 2nd family twice.  Murphy is now THIRTEEN YEARS OLD!!  13!!  That's nonsense.  Kirby will be 14 in just a couple days.

* I got bangs.  So far so good.  Sure, they're currently pinned up but that's because I'm lazy. 

* I went one whole day w/o Diet Coke.  Sure, I was wicked sick and nearly went to the hospital, but it's a step inthe right direction.

and the biggest update of them all is......I'll be doing the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in January.  The entire office is doing it and lord knows I hate not being part of the crew.  Am I doing it for the free shirt and carbo loading, YOU BET YOUR SWEET ASS I AM.  Also, I'll be doing it to prove you jerks that I can.  yeah, I'm talking about you, asswad.

~~I went to Chicago in late May. Spent loads of time w/ my second family. I loved it. I am also developing a potion to keep my girls from growing up. I don't like it. Oh yeah, I also ate all the food and booze in the greater Chicago area. Sorry!

~~I signed up to be a volunteer at the 2011 MLB All Star Fan Fest--again!! That's right, AGAIN! For those who remember, I was a volunteer in Chicago. Awesome times and I'm looking forward to it once again.

~~Finally painted the inside of the house. No more painters white and green walls! It looks so good. The guy is coming back tomorrow to touch some stuff up. I can't wait to put this place back together...it's driving me nuts!

~~My hair is still short. Darker, espresso like brown. Still a fan...for now.

~~I have an iPhone. Adios Blackberry. I adore it, wish I had switched over sooner.
