Hey crafters - hope you enjoyed your week-end! We are having a super hot summer day today. Ok, my " summer season " collection of tools and supplies has grown again!  Every year its my tradition to buy a punch or die  with an ocean theme. I even buy the occasional stamp with the same purpose in mind, but I do tend to buy punches and dies more.  I love those two tools - and if there is a matching stamp set, I'm "swimmingly" thrilled, lol! The summer is for our fun colours, but this year I gave myself a challenge- well, two challenges. ..1) buy a die that was really over the top ' seaside' and 2) use a sleek gold card base as my starting point.  The first was made easy when I saw CHEERY LYNN's Seahorse Family Die which I purchase as fast as I could from Scrapbooking Online Cafe . Hello Crafty mates!   My project today is something for my ' Coffee Mates ' . Take a look at the card below....its part of a gift package for my pal Maria who  also happens to be a coffee mate of mine!  You might not guess from the photo, but this card is really a re-incarnated TIM HORTONS COFFEE CUP! And appropriately, a stir stick is starring as the greeting! Now I did not come up with this idea myself but saw it online when I  googled something, and I thought "how fun!" So naturally, I wanted to do one!  Here is how I did it..... UPCYCLED COFFEE CUP TUTORIAL Basically, grab a clean take-out coffee cup from your fav coffee cafe.   I am working with a Medium Tim Horton's cup.  I found it had enough height to add my focal decoration.  I have seen the cards using the ' Large ' coffee cups though - so choose one that you like. Having a fantastic afternoon - listening to music and making ribbon and flowers come together! Needed a 'special' birthday card....   HAPPY BIRTHDAY M A R G A R E T ! And so I wanted to make one flower/ribbon combo, but I really got into it - must of been the music, and so I made more......I can always do more to these cards, but we're just focusing on the flowers, right? HOW TO MAKE A PRETTY FLOWER  with RIBBON ACCENT YOU WILL NEED :  fabric flower + ribbon + needle/thread + pattern cardstock + (1 " Circle Punch, optional) + adhesive {strong} {CLICK on pictures for a closer view!}  TO START:   cut some lengthes of ribbon .    Next take your  fabric flower , and .... 'Fold' both the ribbon and the flower - stitch the ribbon folds onto the front of the flower, spanning them out - as many as you like. I am using 3 ribbon pieces. *TIP - you can always trim ribbon to create a 'new' ribbon - I trimmed my ribbon off of the wider...

WT272 Album Cover Yay - I finally finished my cover for my mini- album this morning! Here it is! Update - This is now my entry for SPLICOASTSTAMPERS May 27th's 'Ways to Use It' Challenge under "Paint " Technique! So I am required to post it as a 'WT272' project to help others find my entry! Hope they like it and you too! I will post the basic steps in my process on how to make a cover such as this, so read below! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week-end.   Beverly HOW I MADE MY COVER HEART PUNCH FLOWER 1) Make a flower with 2 sizes of  HEART PUNCHES.  Bottom layer is attached with glue to a back support (paper circle)  -  use 4 large punched Hearts for bottom layer .....next, attach 6 small punched Hearts to create top layer (attach by applying glue to the tip area only).  Embellish center as you please - I used a small pink flower brad (shown in finished project). Hello to all you out there! How great it is to have beautiful weather again!   Thursday my umbrella was wrecked by a strong gust of wind, and so on our walk to church Sunday, there was me with no umbrella,  steady rain = me being a bit wet! But today - it was glorious outside! Crazy! Saturday we also had our annual spring Rummage Sale.. And this is a signal to me to  create a new wreath for our door! I keep a supply of seasonal floral stems, and what-ever else strikes my fancy in storage. I drag it out and re-create a new wreath every year.  What I like about it is  it never gets boring - and I try to come up with new ideas.  A couple of weeks ago, I bought some glittery, inexpensive ribbon in a Robin's Egg Blue, and  dollar store Morning Glory flowers.
