Hudson is here!

After much waiting out little Hudson is here. We thought that Hudson might choose to make his entrance early but he made it to the bitter end- he was not coming out until we forced him out. We showed up at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. on April 25, 2012. It was kind of weird to wake up knowing we were going to have a baby in a matter of hours. They checked me in and broke my water at 7:45. Then Cam and I walked and walked and walked- all that walking paid off. 

 My contractions started to get to the point that I thought I would like some IV pain medicine- but it was a no go- we were too close at that point. So like it or not (it was or not) Hudson came without any pain medicine. He was born at 10:53 a.m. He was 8 lbs. 6 oz. and 19.5 inches long. 

 Here we are with our favorite doctor, Dr. Lameroux. We had such great nurses as well!

 We let Aleksandra come in before anyone else- she was a tiny bit timid at first. But once we asked her if she would like to hold her brother she was over the moon for him. We were pretty sure we were going to name him Hudson but wanted to meet him first- and then we asked the boss what she thought and Hudson it was.

 Watching the three of them together made the whole delivery worth it- I felt so happy to be all together.

 Once Aleksandra was comfortable with Hudson our sweet parents came in to meet their first grandson! It was so special to watch each of them the first time they got to hold Hudson. He sure is a lucky little guy to have so many people that love him!

Hudson went and got all of his tests done and his first bath. When Cam brought him back into the room he was so proud to announce that Hudson scored a 10 on his APGAR.

We are so happy to have Hudson in our family. He is such a sweet spirit. He is so calm and mellow. We couldn't be happier with our little guy.

Aleksa at Four

I found an old jump drive as we were unpacking a box today- yeah I know we moved 6 months ago. I loaded the jump drive and found all of the picture from when Aleksa was born. She has grown so much in the past four years.Here is a glimpse of my girl today:

-She is still skinny skinny- she's tall enough to wear a size 4- if she could only hold them up.

-She LOVES school- she goes all day everyday and she still can't get enough! She plays school when she gets home until she goes to sleep.

-She is becoming such a great reader. She has been reading since last year but is really starting to take off- when she focuses. At school they can pass off books- and she is devastated when she doesn't get a turn to read on some days.

- She is over the moon excited to be a big sister. She has named the baby "Baby Jackson"- no that is not his name but it sure is cute. I hope she is still excited to be a big sister when he actually comes.

-Aleksa is a great secret keeper. We told her on her birthday that she was going to be a big sister. We also told her it was a secret- fully aware that she would probably tell everyone that day. She never told a soul until we finally convinced her it was okay. She announced the big news at school by wearing a Big SIS shirt- when I was 16 weeks.

-Aleksa LOVES McDonald's- we tolerate it occasionally- enough said.

-Aleksa's main ambition in life (besides riding her bike on the road) is to become a Jazz Dancer- that's right- I said Jazz Dancer. She has the music in her- if a song comes on she can not sit still- she is up and dancing. She loves going to UVU and Jazz Basketball games so she can watch the dancers. Needless to say she has picked up some moves I would rather she not have... EVER.

-She loves doing "make-up" and her own hair. Everyday I pick her up from her class and she has redone her hair. I've given up sending her with cute hair- she gets a ponytail with a bow- which lasts all of an hour maybe.

We love this crazy girl- everyday she amazes us with the crazy things she says and does. She is such a joy in our house. During the first four months of this pregnancy when I was so sick- Aleksa took care of me- how sad- my four year old took care of me- and she did it with a smile, hug and lots of kisses. Thanks my big girl- I know you will be the best big sister ever.

Christmas 2011

It's one of those posts- the it's been a long time since we posted post. Rather than try to catch you up on everything that has happened since last October I'll just try and keep current with what is happening now. We spent Christmas Eve with my mom and dad. My mom was so cute and had sugar cookies already to go for Aleksa. Aleksa had a great time decorating her cookies for Santa.Shelley, Tori and Eric had, in the mean time, built this massive gingerbread house. We spent the rest of the afternoon covering it with graham crackers, frosting and candy. By the time we were done our bellies hurt from all the candy and I think none of us want to see a gingerbread house until next year.After dinner we had our annual nerf gun fight. Aleksa and Tori were team captains- Let's put it this way Aleksa did not pick Cam or I to be on her team- guess we're not cool enough. I spent most of the time hiding behind the couch reloading everyone else's guns. I don't move as fast as I did before I was pregnant and I am a much bigger target this year than I was last year. Aleksa had a great time though, shouting "clock my gun grandpa!!!" Christmas Eve- Aleksa made sure we all went to bed early so Santa could come- shouting
"Santa is coming- everyone to your places!" I don't have pictures of her running in- but she didn't actually run in she got really nervous and made Cam come with her. She had a great time openning presents and was worn out by the end.


After that, we headed to Cam's mom and dad's house. We spent a lot of time talking and spending time together. Here are Aleksa and Cade playing Chutes and Ladders together. She is going to miss him so much when he leaves on Wednesday! Aleksa had a great time as usual with Cache and Lindsey- they gave her razorback jammies that she loves!

Christmas was wonderful- thanks to both parents for the wonderful Christmas!

Aleksa's First Haircut

Aleksa finally got her haircut last Saturday. She didn't have any hair for the longest time that once it started to grow we didn't dare cut it! Ha. Well it grew and grew and grew until we knew we had to at least trim it. Once we convinced her (okay flat out lied to her that her friends were all cutting their hair) we had Lori do the honors.

After: not much shorter just trimmed all the long ends off- looks so much better and still plenty long.

Preslee

As many of you have read about Preslee this week it's heart breaking for me to tell you that Preslee returned home to a loving Heavenly Father today. Please pray for her family this day.
