Last month Jocelyn, Lauren and I moved into a new (old) apartment. Since we're only staying here for the spring we decided to decorate a little differently than usual. Partially inspired by a Gilmore Girls episode (go figure) we decided to go Asian. With a little help from my family's costume closet and treats Grandma & Grandpa brought brought back from China, we transfromed our dingy living room into a dingy Asian living room!
To celebrate, we decided to have an Asian-style house-warming party. I was suprised how many people actually came over! We had a lot of fun... dancing, talking, and eating lots of junk food.
In keeping with the Asian theme, I attempted to create "dessert sushi"- another Gilmore inspired idea. They were basically frozen dessert crepes (ice cream, strawberries, marshmallows, chocolate, etc) cut into pieces. I thought it was just a funny idea, but they were actually a big hit!
All in all, we had a great time with our friends. Who knew warming up a house could be so fun?!
