Daisy found this old Santa hat that Chris used

to wear when he was in Jazz Band. She

thinks she is pretty cool when she wears it.

considering Daisy took it I suppose it's not to
bad. Thought you all might like to see the
baby bump. Its starting to get pretty big.

It finally snowed here and Daisy begged
and begged us to go and play. It was pretty
cold so Chris really bundled her up tight.
She had a blast!

Happy Birthday Daisy!

Yesterday was Daisy's 4th birthday! I can't

believe my little baby girl is so big!

She had a wonderful day and was really

spoiled. Thanks to all those who wished

her a happy birthday!

Here she is opening some presents. Now

she is really excited for Christmas!

At the end of the day I asked her what

her favorite present was. She told me it was

her polka dot shoes. She loves shoes. I'm

not sure what we are going to do when

she is a teenager!

The results are in!!

Well we finally had our ultrasound done

yesterday and the results are in!

It's a girl!

Daisy is super excited to be a big sister

and even more excited that

it's not a little brother.

Happy Halloween!

Daisy's favorite part of any holiday is making sugar

cookies. Here are just a couple fun pics of her

cutting out and icing the cookies. She usually eats

most of them before they are even finished.

This year for a costume we went to the Halloween

store and told Daisy she could pick out whatever she

wanted. Well, they didn't have any pink leather batgirl

costumes in her size, so she ended up with this

"Midnight Fairy" one. She wanted face make-up,

so I got her all dolled up.

She had a great time trick-or-treating!

Carving Pumpkins

Here are some pictures of us carving pumpkins.

Daisy loved it and even cleaned out most of the guts herself.

I planteded a pumpkin plant in my garden this year and got one

whole pumpkin! Yeah! So, Daisy got to carve that one and

Chris and I bought some for ourselves to carve.

Been awhile....

I've had a few complaints from people about the fact that I haven't posted for awhile. In reality I haven't been feeling all that great until the past couple weeks. So, when I finally did start to feel better I had lots to catch up on (mostly Chris was tired of wearing dirty clothes to work, so laundry came before the blog). I did find a few pictures I thought were worth sticking on here though, so enjoy!

Occasionally on the nights that I work Chris lets Daisy sleep in our room. Generally they are both awake (well, Daisy awake and Chris still trying to sleep) when I get home from work around 8am. One morning I walked in and Daisy didn't come running down the stairs yelling for me. So I went to investigate and this is what I found. I thought it was so adorable! Then, having been up all night, I hurried and got ready for bed and crawled in right next to them. Thank goodness for our king sized bed!!

We recently decided Daisy needed a bigger bed (see picture below) . With a baby on the way, we decided bunk beds would be a good idea. So here is Daisy with her new beds. She likes to rotate between top and bottom and every once in awhile her aunt Makell comes and spends the night. How fun!


A new bed was necessary, don't you think? I can't even imagine what her knees felt like when she woke up from that nap. Eek!

News!

Well, we are starting to tell our friends and family our exciting news and thought we better blog it so the rest of you will know too. Chris and I are expecting baby #2!! We are pretty excited about it and Daisy is thrilled. She asks me about 12 times a day if the baby is ready to come out yet. I am 12 weeks along and the due date is March 18th. Hopefully we'll be able to aviod all the other birthdays in March and get the baby a birthday of its own. We won't know the sex of the baby for about 8 more weeks (unless I can talk my midwife into doing the ultrasound earlier). Anyway, now you can all stop bugging us about having another baby. Haha!

Birthday Bash!

I decided a little cookout would be fun for my B-day. So all my family got together at my mom's house and had hamburgers. It was great fun. We were missing Jason and his family, but he was nice and called on the phone. His girls helped him sing happy birthday. It was cute! Thanks for remembering me!

We invited Chris's aunt Mindy and her family over for cake and ice cream later on. We started a little game of volleyball. It was a little wild at times, but we had a great time!

Everyone joined in! Go mom!!

It was a long afternoon/evening with lots of activities. Daisy got tired, so she made herself a little bed out of the patio chairs and a few napkins. So funny.

Daisy's Baby

So we haven't really done anything to exciting the past week or so, so I don't have any pictures to put up, but I did have a funny conversation with Daisy on the way home from school the other day, that I thought I would share. Keep in mind that we have several friends and close family that are either pregnant or just had babies.

Daisy: I have a baby in my tummy. She's little. She's not ready to come out yet.

Me: Really? You're kind of little to have a baby, and usually people wait till they get married to have babies.

Daisy: I did.

Me: You got married?

Daisy: Yep.

Me: Really, who did you marry?

Daisy: Oh, um...just Kung Fu Panda. (she flicked her wrist at me while saying this like it was no big deal that she had married a celebrity.)

Me: Wow! So are you going to have a panda baby?

Daisy: Nope, just a girl.

Me: Fun, does she have a name?

Daisy: Um no...well, just Flower.

Me: Her name is Flower?

Daisy: Yep

Me: Oh, thats cute.

Daisy: Yep, I know.

So funny what little minds come up with!

Random Summer Fun!

Jeremy and Stephanie were up visiting this weekend with their little baby Alexis. Daisy adores Alexis and loves to hold her every chance she can get.

Daisy has received a ton of compliments on her hair when it is done like this, so I thought I would post a pic. For those of you that have girls who will sit still, this is pretty easy and it stays in for days! Just make a zigzag part then start in the front and make the ponytails.

This is the fountain at Tautphaus Park. We thought we'd take Daisy over and let her get wet(its been really hot here). When we got there though, there was a big sign posted telling us to stay out of the water. Boo! So we just took a picture and left.

Chris's family came over and got in the hot tub while Jeremy was up. Jeremy and Dan were trying to get Daisy to dunk under and she finally did it.

Chris and his brothers are always telling me about the crazy stunts they would pull when they were kids. The worst I have ever done was a flip on the trampoline. So when I see this video of my three year old, I get a little worried about what she will do in 10 years....and how much my ER bills are going to be.

Happy Birthday Chris!!

Yesterday was Chris's 26th birthday! Yay! He requested a chocolate peanut butter cup pie, so that is what he got. However when we got to my mom's house for the celebration I realized I had forgotten the candles. That giant one is all my mom had, so we made it work.

Daisy thinks every birthday is hers and that she should always get to blow out the candles. Luckily Chris was nice enough to let her help.

This is not the best picture(for some reason my flash wouldn't work) but you can kind of see the cool Rubik's cube that Chris got from his friend at work. It's sides are black and shades of gray instead of the regular primary colors.

Camping

Chris's aunt decided we needed to have a "girls night." So she planned a camping trip and reserved a spot at Green Canyon. On Wednesday, Daisy and I packed up and headed out. There were no men there at all. It was pretty interesting to see a five women trying to park a camper, set up tents, and start a fire. But, we all survived and had a blast to boot! Daisy loves to swim and is fearless of the water, thanks to her experience with swimming lessons earlier. We spent HOURS in the pool! I forgot to bring my camera, but luckily Chris took pictures earlier of our tent. So just imagine some trees in the background with me and Daisy standing in front. :)

4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July weekend! It was so fun to get to see our family. We left Thursday morning(the 3rd) and headed down to Logan where we spent some time with Chris's brother Jeremy and his family.

We spent most of Thursday afternoon swimming at the health club where Jeremy works. Then we headed back to Jeremy's house for dinner which Stephanie made. Thanks Steph! Then we lit off some of our own fireworks and stayed up late watching the university fireworks.

Friday morning we headed out to Jake and Ashley's house. The boys headed off to Cabelas while Ashley and I hung out at home with the kids. That night we again set off some fireworks for the kids and then watched the professional fireworks from their front yard. It was a blast!

On our way home Saturday morning we decided to stop at Saltair and walk out to the lake to let Daisy wade in the water. It was actually pretty gross and there were tons of dead birds...not sure why. Daisy had fun playing in the water and we both ended up covered in sand. Then, after a good hose down we loaded back into the truck and came home.

Here is our Springfield Armory XD .45 ACP. the mag is double stack and holds 13 shells (Carina is a better shot with it than I am).



This is the gun I bought for Carina, its .22 Walther P22. I carry this more often than my .45 since I'm kind of skinny and its hard to hide a 5" barrel.

Here is a picture of the rounds for each gun sitting next to each other for comparison.

We got this martin .22 caliber rifle to do some distance shooting since the hand guns can get expensive to shoot. Again, Carina is a much better shot than I am.

We are preparing to get Carina enroled in hunters safety and then get her Utah concealed permit. Once she has those we are planning on getting her a little beretta .22 that she can wear. she's skinnier than I am and has a hard time concealing the Walther even.

I want to go to the park!

So, Chris and I got sick of hearing, "Lets go to the park!" Not that we don't enjoy taking Daisy to the park, but sometimes she'll make us take her multiple times a day. Our solution was to get a little swing set. Daisy has loved it and now we only have to go the park once a week or so. He he!

Here she is on the see-saw. I didn't get a good picture of her on the swing, but that seems to be her favorite part. She has almost figured out how to pump her legs and swing all by herself.

Happy Father's Day!

Just want to wish you all a Happy Father's Day! Also I just want you all to know what a great dad Chris is. He is so good with Daisy and she adores him. Most of you have seen him in action and know what I am talking about. For those of you who haven't seen him for awhile and are doubting me right now, I have the picture to prove it....

Honestly, what father out there lets his three year old put curlers in his hair and then takes pictures for all to see? Happy Father's Day Chris!! I think you're great!!

Swimming Lessons

Daisy has been going to school at Koala Kids three mornings a week for the past couple months now. During the summer they offer swimming lessons through Apple Athletic Club. So they load up the kids on the bus each morning and take them over. Today was Daisy's first day. She did great!

In these pictures Daisy is doing "motorboat" with her teacher. They spin around singing the motorboat song. They go fast, then they go slow. She seemed to love it until they reached the end of the song and the boat sank(I don't remember having learned that part of the song). Daisy ended up being dunked under the water. She was pretty ticked off that her face had gotten wet. She turned to her teacher and, with an evil glint in her eye, yelled, "you got water in my eyes!"

So Big!

So Daisy has been bugging me to get her ears pierced for awhile now. I kept telling her she was to little, but finally I gave in. Chris and I took her in and had it done on Saturday. She did so well! She cried for a second, but as soon as she saw her ears in the mirror she stopped crying and said "Oh, I look so pretty!!"




She is a little cheesy in this picture but you can see how big she looks with her new earrings. She is growing up so fast it makes me cry!!

Trip to the Zoo!

We finally had a warm day and decided to make the best of it. So, we spent the day roaming around at the zoo and playing at Tautphaus Park. Daisy loved the zoo. Her favorite animals were the penguins and the monkeys. We all had a blast riding the rides although Daisy wasn't to fond of the Octopus. She and Chris both looked a little green at the end of that ride. I knew from past experience what would happen if I rode(it involves an emergency trip to the nearest garbage can), so I just watched and laughed and took pictures.
