1) LAST MOVIE U SAW IN A THEATRE? - 21 - but prefer DVD or downloads.

2) WHAT BOOK ARE U READING? - None, have taken a sabbatical from reading for a while. Brain needs to flush out all its modalities.....

3) FAVOURITE BOARD GAME? - Monopoly -
Here me and one of my friends - we have created our own version - with stock market, mergers, acquisitions, solvency, partnership, auctions, real estate deals, mortgages, loans.....what happens is like real life - players can become partners with each other - each earns or loses every round - and end of the game its the balance sheet that matters and the risk one takes to invest in different ventures.....not the amount of money, hotel or houses you own in the traditional version. (effects of being a gujju and not being in business!!!!!)

4) FAVOURITE MAGAZINE? - Fortune (Am currently bored of reading all Architectural and Design Magazines)

5) FAVOURITE SMELLS? - Permanent Marker - gives a high - used to smell it to stay up doing architectural submissions.
Fresh eucalyptus when I was in Ooty.

6) FAVOURITE SOUNDS? - Not one sound in particular but cumalative as in Soundscapes - Music of the Deserts - By Zakir Hussain - Love the album but like this track in particular The Great Indian Desert - also have experienced them first hand visiting Pushkar Mela in Rajashthan

7) WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD? - Someone questioning my work or memory. Kinda a perfectionist at work. I go crazy and makes me cringe and till it is solved I keep feeling - "How could I?"

8) WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN U WAKE? - Here I will refer to Neetal - like her its been embedded into my mind to say - "Jai Shri Krishna" - wishing everyone in the family as soon as you get up.....so invariably HE is uttered. Just wondering if HE gets bugged by bad breath.

9) FAVOURITE FASTFOOD PLACE? - Dunno - many - it all depends on the mood - but currently a place called "Kati Roll" serving various frankie type rolls and "Mamouns" serving falafels (tuskish food) both on MacDougal Street in Manhattan. (recommended if visiting NY), Dosa Hut - for all the South Indian Delicacies and wont even mention any of the Gujju hangouts in New Jersey lest the Gujju friends on the blog will get angry at me again.

10) FUTURE CHILDS NAME? - No thoughts given to this - it can and will change for two reasons - the other half will have her ideas or if following old Gujju traditions then supposedly my sisters have to pick a name.

11) FINISH THIS STATEMENT---'IF I HAD A LOT OF MONEY - According to the World Bank document - Per Capita Income of the world - most of us who have been working full time jobs for a while have a lot of money relative to a poorer places in the world - and what have we done being "rich" - nothing kept working - so thats what I intend to do keep working just might change it to more philantrophic or social.

12)DO U DRIVE FAST? - Yeah - almost always - really feel I might get into an accident if I travel withing speed limits - and its not my fault my dear friend VW loves to shift gears way too fast.

13) DO U SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL? Yeah, almost everyday - I dont like sleeping hungry or else my stomach growls.

14) STORMS--COOL OR SCARY? - When on ground cool - when in flight scary.

15) WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR? - Honda Civic

16) FAVOURITE DRINK? - Cappuchino or Tea whichever is available, Peach Ice Tea and Rum and Coke, Kutchi Beer (buttermilk), but most prefered Matka Cola (h2O)

17))FINISH THIS STATEMENT-IF I HAD THE TIME I WOULD...Then Harish Bhimani would not have got the job at the start of Mahabharat tele serial - remember "Mai Samay Hoon" - I would be Time then :))))

18)DO YOU EAT THE STEMS ON BROCCOLI? - I only eat half the world (vegetarian) so cant leave out things from that.

19) IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY OTHER COLOUR, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR CHOICE? - I'd prefer to go bald.

20)NAME ALL THE DIFFERENT CITIES/TOWNS U HAVE LIVED IN? - Bombay and North Jersey many towns. (if it is short stays - of a week - then can add +/- 65 other towns to this list all over)

21)FAVOURITE SPORTS TO WATCH? - Lawn tennis and nowadays American Football as Cricket is not easily available.

22) ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU? -

Prats - I like the way she writes and expresses her ideas. There is a subtle humor that persists in her writings and the flow can allow one to visualize the given or described situation.

Ankur - Loves to write and express and have found a good movie buff. Have seen two of his recommended movies and will keep doing so.

23) WHATS UNDER YOUR BED? - Empty space and quietness.

24) WOULD U LIKE TO BE BORN AS YOURSELF AGAIN?? - Nah! I get bored to easily - need a new avatar.

25)MORNING PERSON OR NIGHT OWL? - 6 hts total sleep required in a day - can be at anytime - so cant be specific. But when travelling I really love very early mornings to explore the local areas on foot - learn a lot about the local lifestyle and can sometimes get fresh breakfast or tea or coffee from people as I tend to be nosy.

26) OVER EASY OR SUNNY SIDE UP? - This question pertains to how eggs are served and I like them in omlette form not either one of the above.

27) FAVOURITE PLACE TO RELAX? - Any place close to a water body- Used to be Worli Sea Face in Bombay - here I goto a park on the Hudson River overlooking Manhattan or a forest with a pond.

28) FAVOURITE PIE? - Uncle Pai from Tinkle

A nti - histamins - Its spring and this is my life for the next few months. Antihistamins work as earplugs to curb the noise and get me some sleep, as the pollen from the trees and my sinuses decide to copulate without my consent. The noise from their coitus rattles my nerves and leaving behind colorful trails of love juices.

B ombay - No matter what they call it - I am still a BOMBAYITE at heart, soul, mind, body and spirit. Simply love the city and its DENSE aura. This tag could have just been listing A-Z of Bombay that defines me.

E nigma - I am to others as well as myself many a times.

N ew York - The city I love after Bombay. Having travelled to many big cities around - I simply love NY as it is closest in spirit to Bombay - physically completly different though - taller, cleaner and not as dense.

O cean - Love walking on the beach, being near it, sand, swimming, jet sking, sunset, sunrise, babes, beers ;) - everything about it (common I am a Tum right!!!)- recommendation - South Beach Florida

P az Vega - I like this Spanish actress - (spanglish was one hollywood movie) - very free spirited - we share the same birthday.

Q atar - Reminds me of this city when peole keep enforcing "krupaya prateeksha kijeye, aap qatar me hai" Please wait you are in 'Q" - now if I have to wait Why dont I have a choice of Paris or London or Bombay!

R oads - This is where I spend a lot of time getting lost, nostalgic, thoughtful, enigmatic - with my best friend (mentioned later).

S andwich - The best food on earth - can combine anything and everything in between two slices of bread - and can get variety of tastes - my survival food - am an eggetarian - and still can find abundance of things to pack in between.

T ime - I am extra punctual and it irritates people - Indian here want to work on Indian Stardard Time - means arrive an hour after the decided meeting time - even after an hour I am first.....had this one incident - was invited to a birthday party in NY - reached on time at 7.30. Parking in the city is more expensive than food - called this couple up - said that they havent still left home - I was like WTF - so he says why dont you take some drinks - I will get the tab -OKAYYYY - he regrets that moment till date - I drank like a fish.

U mbrella - dont like carrying it ever - like to get wet.

V olkswagen - My best friend with whom I spend those cosy moments on roads.

W ander - My favorite hobby - forests, beaches, roads, parks - I just like to wander to wilderness.

X aviers Boys' Academy- My school - I miss it every day....

Y why - Sometimes I wish I can stop asking so many questions....

Few questions for all my fellow blog readers:

The last post that I tackled - as pointed out by almost everyone was very "diplomatic". I am not trying to justify anything here - the way I tackled it was:

- For what I like about women - Tried to see positive in all the things that a woman does naturally - something most guys complain about

- What changes guys should make in their lives - Here again portrayed many instances from observing many friends and couples what guys keep doing that make the woman angry......

So just pondering - if possible do answer these :

Is it wrong to keep quiet? Accept the other person as they are - or is it better to keep nagging and confront them.

Does keeping quiet all the time means that he/she could be taken for granted - and say once this he/she does loose their cool - they become the meanest people around.

Are we all tuned in to accept negative reactions towards us - so much so that when one is trying to be nice we feel that he/she has some ulterior motive.

If say you do commit some grave errors and confess or accept them - even then you are constantly ridiculed - will you keep quiet, fight it out or simply walk away from the situation.

Thus like my friend Calvin - my brain is trying to kill me too

Finally I bought the new game for my Dis - playstation - Ying Yang - by Bony Productions.
Premise of the game is simple : there is a couple living together in an apartment - you have to determine the next move for each player - if correct you get plus points and negative points for a wrong answer.....plus points leads to successful relationship and negative leads to disastors

Rules: The simplest rule that I could have ever encountered for a game - "Think and behave naturally - and act accordingly". The last game that had only one page instruction was a real toughie - so I knew I was doomed.......

Additional Instructions: Many games one plays has multiple levels - stage 1 to infinity and it becomes difficult as one increses in stages - this particular game is designed to be categorized in multiple ages - not levels.
I bought the one called YOUTH FACTOR - additonal titles like CHIDHOOD CRAPOMANIA, PUBERTY HANGUPS, MIDDLE AGE CRISIS AND OLD AGE SENILITY are also available.

The game -
Pick selections
Players - I picked professional woman and man
House layout - Picked one with one bedroom called "Started Apartment"
Time frame - I picked a week (wanted to see how the game was)
Objective - This game is based on real life differences between the gender. Think "Natural " to gain points.
Press "Start" to begin.
(taking a deep breath - I pressed "Start")
Monday morning -
Man takes charge of the morning proceedings
Man - Wakes up puts the coffee - decides to go read the paper - forgets about the coffee - reading the paper - switches on the TV - looks at the news anchor and relaizes he has to iron his shirt - coffee is still burning - paper is strewn all over the table - TV is on and off he goes to iron the clothes.....she wakes up and tells him the coffee is burning
What is the mans reaction - (here I have to pick the correct answer - help me out)
- Rushes to see the coffee and forget about the shirt
- Remembers to switch of the iron before going to check the coffee
- Simply gets bugged as says "Why cant you shut off the coffee - cant you see I am late"

Went thru couple of stages all interesting - stopped on Thursday Morning
Woman takes charge of the morning proceedings
Woman - Wakes up. First goes and picks the paper - lays it neatly on the table (anticipating breakfast). Goes and puts the coffee on the pot - goes out and sets the iron table facing the TV...enough time to shut the coffee off and come back and iron her dress and see TV - he wakes up, "Where is the paper and is the coffee ready and whats the news......" She tells him everything is set.
She does this because:
- She is a natural multitasker and can think ahead of the next move
- She loves him way too much
- Has accepted his daily ramblings and sees no point in arguing

Then I flipped thru couple more days - Reached Saturday evening.
Man - Was out playing football with friends - Invites two of his buddies to accompany him to his home for some drinks - calls his wife who is partially working from home - I am coming home with my buddies - can you make something to eat that you made last week - it was awesome - she stops her work to prepare that awesome stuff - its only sometimes he appreciates her and is pleased that he remembered that - she forgets about her work and its importance - meanwhile she straightens the house for the guests.
Guys comes home - dirty shoes and mud - all over the floor to the bathroom - bathroom is a muck - sofas/cushions are all helter skelter - beer bottles everywhere - food dishes slid below the table - in the end it looks like a hurricane just hit.
End of the night she starts to clean up on her own inspite of her pending work -
he looks at her - stretches his arms - and
- Helps her clean up
- Says honey I am tired will do it tommorow
- Simply goes and sleeps

Last I flipped to the last day Sunday at the mall
Woman - We need to buy the following items -
Matching curtains for the new cushion covers that we bought last week for the new sofa that we had ordered to match the carpet that was gifted to us for this new apartment
Have to buy a silver toaster to replace the one working to match the silver blender and coffee machine that we got as our anniversary so everything looks even
Need to buy a new dress with matching accesories and shoes for "X"'a party - and need to get you another white shirt and black pant
The guys applauds her -
- Because she is so visionary that she takes care of all the minute details of their life - without which it will be drab
- Thinks big and say - if not for women - there would be a lull in the economy - if they did not spend - it will lead to recession - also appreciating the fact that because of their innate quality for nitpicking - it challenges designers and manufacturers to up their game
- Why cant she do all this and let me be alone so I can goof off as if I tell her to buy a certain color or item - it will be rejected anyways - and deemd I am trying to get things done fast as I am bored of this trip already in 15 minutes.

Wow!!!! what a game - have to leave now or else I will be late for a meeting that I setup five days ago and told THEM to come on time when I am going to be late - while I still have to eat lunch and fill fuel and..........

Strengths:
- Love to explore many different things - (life has so much to offer)
- Have a photographic memory (am able to recollect things whether client details, book pages or places I have travelled to)
- Always see the positive in any situation (beleive everything that happens has a reason )
- Can visualize and sketch precisely in 3 dimensions (part of it is training as an architect)
- Can gauge peoples mood and intentions and react accordingly (helps dealing with clients)
- Always jovial, you cannot have a dull moment around me
- Need only 6 hours of sleep - and am a good power napper (10 mins ) and I will be fresh

Weaknesses:
- Cannot say NO to anyone - end up doing most of the work for others
- Curb my resentments and avoid arguments - it bites back eventually
- Being jovial always is a weakness as people think I am never serious
- Being inquisitive for many things makes me restless
- Can be ruthless sometimes (speakah the truth) as I am upfront

Opportunities:
This is vague as this analysis is for business modules
Opportunities in life have to be created - if I feel I can do something or is good for me - I simply go try it - without thinking of consequences
If it works its great and if not - well I learn a good lesson
Atleast there is no - What if I had done this or that.....Its done.

Threats:
Again this is vague. There are external threats that one cannot forecast - all one can do is be ready to face them.
On the personal front - you could be your worst threat
Say if you have made a mistake - and you keep resenting it - you make yourself and everyone around you sick.....

This was a difficult TAG - a complete LEFT BRAIN activity - logical, rational etc etc, which I rarely use -have never done anything like this before - so Pavi let me know if this was the right direction.

10 things I hate about girls ?

I have mentioned this in many other posts and my tags earlier too -

Hate is too harsh a word , I have not been able to love somebody properly yet

There are differences between sexes - in many aspects - one has to realize them and accept them....thats all. We have to coexist no matter what - One learns this after personal setbacks.....and if you let hatred towards anyone penetrate your conscience - it will only harm you.

Meme or Maimed

Coming from -xh-, some serious questions.....have admitted myself to the emergency ward....just in case.....

1) It is important to be liked by others...no. Nope, it is not important to be liked by others:
This is a question which has many connotations - one simply cant live alone - need some sort of recognition - good or bad (people have had blog posts on this).
Now depending on what you are in life - I mean to say profession or stage - It can matter a lot or not matter at all.
An actor for instance cannot deny the fact that he needs to be liked by others....whereas a cricketer can tilt either way but has to be liked by the selector and personally I am a free bird - you like me or no I exist nonetheless......

2) Obedience is a virtue:
Well civil disobediance is also a virtue.....so again these short questions cannot have a direct answer - one needs to dwell into it.....who are you abiding to, where are you, what are you obeying.....
A soldier cannot disopbey.....he will put the whole battalion into jeopardy....whereas a child should disobey - only then can he find out differences between good and bad choice....

3) People are not malicious but they become so because of bad experiences or circumstances:

Depends, sometimes too much education imparts lot of logic and maimes you - whereby simple things are made complicated - it also imparts coherance to norms and prevents one from taking a risk

It depends. For some guys, wisdom comes at an early age, but for some, it never comes. Wisdom is not linked with age, but with experiences one go through and circumstances one have to endure. So, nope, people mat not necessary get wiser as they become old. But yeah, they can become more senile as they become old ;-)
Also to add to it - you loose wisdom tooth so how can you be wiser....

7) You can live on love and fresh air:
Yeah if you are a robot.....programmed with "love ke liye kuch bhi karega" software.....be realistic guys

8) There is a celestial guardian angel looking after each one of us:
I dont know if they are also born at the same rate at we humans.....we are 6 billion that means there are 6 billion of em.....now isnt that a bit too much.....and who is looking after the celestial angels - what if they make a booboo....

Yeah I was wondering about the scar I have on my head......I never got hurt there in this lifetime......

Honestly...I want to do this for a long time....I would stand outside Churchgate Station in Bombay and randomly give money to as many people as possible....
Will acheive two things -One get a pic in MID-DAY and Page 3 - local papers with some headline like "paagal gujju" (cheap thrill) and
secondly all those stressed people will smile for a moment in amazement.....worth a lot more than that bag of money.....
and also keep 500 bucks out of it....have as many idli-sambhars in Sanman (churchgate) and vada pau (near my school) and give a generous tip to the waiter who is still there 18 yrs after I left school - do it everytime I visit bombay....

Confession is for a crime.....love is about professing......

Was tagged twice not so long ago.....finally decided to dwell into them and write them down:

5 Things in My Room:
My Writing Pad and Pen (for every little thing i scribble it down or sketch it)
My windows to the outside world (one real window for light and air and my bills gates's window for rest of the stuff)
Books - lots of them and all kinds - simultaneosly reading 5 different books depending on mood
Hard Drives loads of music -desi, english and hinglish and movies - in short my entertainment center)
Thought Balloons (every now and then there is some thought that I have - i blow it into a imaginary balloon and let it float in the room - in times of solitude - i burst few and carry them on - beleive me the mind stays light and the thoughts dont dissolve)

Wallet is the physical existent identifier of who I am in this country - and with relevant safety resources
License - identity
Credit Cards -need to eat and fill fuel
AAA Card - American Automobile Association card - for emergency situations like car break down - accidents etc etc
Medical Insurance Card - a must as I am on the road a lot - never know what can happen
Metro Card and NY Pocket Map - love New York - so carry it in my wallet with a metro card for the subways.

My 8 Habits - Facts in Life

1) Beleive in myself - to a point that people think I am despotic - but its part of my training as an architect - where if I dont beleive in my design how can I build something for someone - has now become my inherent quality
2) Movies and Music - anytime anywhere no matter whats happening in the world - I can watch a movie or listen to some sounds from any part of the world
3) Books - as described above love to read
4) Experiment with Food - am a vegeterian and love to cook so experiment with different cuisines from all around the world and give them a vegeterian twist - well honestly have not required to cross that line as yet - find everyone happy to serve you their version of vegeterian food - and have eaten in restaurants here from almost 24 different countries and cuisines.
5) Tea - love desi chai (tea) - can drink it anytime, anywhere -
6) Chocolate - damn this is my weakness - really in any form - chocolate bars and candies, truffles, cakes, mousse, bourbon biscuits, chocolate milk, chocolate horlicks and complan :P......
7) Rum and Coke (previously old monk and thumps up ) - dont know how long and how many i must have had -but always go back to my dear old rum - reasons are simple -
Gam ka Sathi Rum (friend in the time of sadness is rum)
Khushi mai bhi hamesha saath denge Hum (will also be you friend when sharing happiness)
8) Travel all over
