2023 Catch up (Spring)

Time to catch up! Here are a few things that happened in the springtime.

Ezra made the Sydney Harbor Bridge out of a construction set the boys received for a Christmas gift (with about 5 minutes of help from Henry and Caleb). 

Henry and Ezra participated in their first Pinewood Derby race for Cub Scouts. They had fun designing and making their Pinewood Derby cars (with a little bit of help from both Carrie and Charles). Henry's car had low clearance (from a bit of tape stuck to the bottom to keep the weights in place) and so the car got stuck going down the track. There were a lot of tears from Henry because his car did not make it to the finish line. But in the end, everyone was happy and had a fun time.

Charles almost burned down the shed in our backyard. He was burning weeds next to the shed with his blowtorch. He didn't notice the shed was smoking when he walked to another area of the yard. Henry saw the smoke and the boys were able to put out the flames with a garden hose.

It snowed at our house (in March!). Henry and Ezra had to go to school, but Caleb was able to build a mini snowman before the snow melted. 

Caleb loved attending Pre-K at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church! He had some fun performances and events during the year. Here is a picture of his hair for "crazy hair day". I used Elmer's glue to keep the pom poms in place. 

Charles and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary on March 8! We went out for lunch and attended the Tucson Temple to celebrate. When did we get so old??? Time goes by so fast!

2023 Catch up (Henry's birthday)!

 Henry turned 10 in January! He is excited to be "double digits" and feels so big. We love this boy so much!

Happy New Year 2023!

 Happy New Year! It's been many years since we've posted on our blog, but we're back! 

Here's a little about what kept us busy in 2022.

Caleb: Learned how to ride a bike without training wheels, loves preschool and painting. He also loves to swing and play with his brothers outside. 

Ezra: Is excelling in school and enjoys Cub Scouts. Ezra was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in November. He loves LEGOs, riding his new bike and is our family magician.

Henry: Loves designing roads, traffic lights and being the "mayor" in Reed Spring City (our backyard). He also loves school, writing books, reading Hardy Boys and riding his bike. 

Carrie: Was super busy as Young Women's President at church the first half of the year. She likes trying new sourdough recipes, exercising in the early morning hours and reading a good book. 

Charles: Has been busy with work and repainting our house. He loves reading, watching BYU football and basketball, trout fishing and mountain biking. 

Gravity: Loves to chase and eat lizards, beg for food, run laps in the backyard, dig holes and play with his squeaky ball. 

All the boys learned how to swim over the summer (hooray!!). We loved camping, visiting family and our road trip to White Sands National Park, Petroglyph National Monument and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. It was a great 2022!!!

A Bus

Henry loves trucks, cars and busses. He makes an adorable siren sound and "vroom" for any other vehicle.

 

One morning after breakfast, all he wanted to do was sit in his chair and find the busses on his pajamas. He would find a bus and say "bus" over and over. He loves these pajamas. When we ask him where his busses are, he pats his stomach over and over (since there are busses everywhere). Henry has such a fun personality! I love to see how his mind works.

I can't believe Henry is one! He had a sports themed birthday. He absolutely loved finding his birthday banner in the family room. He couldn't stop touching all of the balls and finding the "H".

We had a family party on Henry's actual birthday. We invited our neighbor, Camille, over for a cake and ice cream. I made a pumpkin cake from scratch with cream cheese frosting and decorated it as a basketball. It was a very tasty cake!

 

Henry definitely did not want to eat his cake - he took one bite and spit it out. All he wanted to do was "touch" the cake and crumble it up. We sure love our boy!

We had a friends birthday party for Henry on the Saturday after his birthday. He didn't like the kids playing with his trucks. Once again, he didn't want anything to do with his birthday cake. It was a fun birthday week!
