Halloween

Royal got "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" from his Uncle Luke. He talks about Charlie Brown a lot. So he was proud to be him and even better to have everyone recognize who he was. At every door he said, "Trick or treat, I Charlie Brown, thanks." He had a blast and amazingly hasn't asked for any candy all week long. I figure if he's not asking, then I'm not giving.

I know, comparing the boys already. I can't really tell yet if they look alike. But fun to see so many similarities. (They're both on the tense side. That trait comes from me. :)

The New Guy

Guy Rodney Young arrived August 7th. 7 lbs, 12 oz, 10:40 AM. His dark hair was a nice surprise. Right now, he really loves to sleep, even at night. Royal has stepped up his responsibilities as a big brother. I expect he'll be taking full charge of Guy's care in the next three weeks. We love having boy Guy and Royal as part of our family.

Colorado

I don't even know where to start with the pictures. I feel like I have hundreds of them. We had another full vacation in Colorado. Parents, sisters, and cousins are the best. Royal asks about his cousins every day.
BUT This uploading images is really getting on my nerves. Holy Slow. Now it's up to your imaginative minds to deduce, that YES we had a blast!

Though the kitchen still awaits cabinet doors, I realized there are some areas of our house that are complete. I haven't posted anything house related yet, and it's been quite the project since last October.

Rite of Passage

It's happened to the best and worst of us. We've left the nest for the coop. Royal gets a big full sized bed for now. Luxurious, I know. So far so good. He likes being so grown up (and I don't think it's dawned on him yet that he can get "out" of bed whenever he darn well pleases.) What an obedient little guy. I mean this is our second night in the bed, we shall see.

Ride the Potty Train

As a reward for potty training we took Royal to the McCormick Stillman Railway Park in Scottsdale. Chase's cousin and family came along too. Royal was thrilled. We'd been talking about riding the train for weeks and we'd also been talking lots about potty training. One day Royal says, "I ride the potty train." I didn't ever connect we were using the same root word. It's a great, cheap place for the whole family, especially husbands. Boys no matter the age continue to love trains..model trains, giant trains, train tracks, and 2 ft high trains you have to straddle to ride.
