Five years and still going strong!

December 27 was my and Vic's 5 year wedding anniversary. It is crazy how fast time flies. I seriously can't believe I have been with this man for 7 years and 5 of that married. We have already done so much in these five years. We got married, he graduated from Weber State with his bachelor's of finance. I got my master's of Esthetics, we moved to Bloomington, IN where Vic got his Masters of telecommunications. We moved back to Utah where Vic got a job making video games with EA Salt Lake. We built a house, we got a second dog, and now we have an almost 5 month old baby boy. I don't think we could have imagined this is where we would be on our wedding day. I love this man with my whole heart. He is my rock, he is my everything. We are so completely different, but so alike in many ways. We still act like we did back when we dated. We still can't keep our hands off eachother and I hope we are like that until the day we die. Vic may be quirky and have crazy ideals, but his heart is so full of compassion and love. He would do anything for me without question as I would do for him. We are a team and I can't wait to see what the next five years bring. I love you baby!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Normally, we would have driven out to my mom and dad's for Christmas morning, but because the weather was horrible they came to our house. We had a lot of fun opening presents. After, we bundled up and drove out to my gma's house for a lunch and more presents, followed by Christmas dinner at Vic's parents house. Jack did amazing, just going with the flow. He really wasn't too spoiled this year, but I think it is because he is still so young. I guarentee next year will be a different story. My dad has already found him his own mini snowmobile, and a go-cart, and that is just so far. Who knows what he will find all of 2009!!

Merry Christmas Eve!!

This year we went out to my parents house for Christmas Eve dinner. The entire family was there, including Vic's parents and sister, gma Kay and Tom, gpa Bob, Scott, Kyle and Kelly. The food was amazing, and it was really a great family time! I think Jack had grandparent overload. He was exhausted and crashed through dinner time. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas tomorrow.

Jack is one cool dude!

December so far...

So far this month Jack has started eating cereal with a spoon. He has also started fruits and veggies. I know I am biased, but I think he is the cutest baby alive! I love him so so so much! Also, I did something I swore I would never do again. I cut my hair! I am sure all you moms out there have probably gone through this, but the last two months I have been loosing my hair! So, I decided to cut it to make it look a little more thick. I actually really like it. Katchie did an amazing job covering some of the problem spots! Jack turns 4 months!

Yesterday was Jack's 4 month birthday. I wanted to hold off on writing a post because today was his 4 month checkup. I wanted to report his stats! He is still a crazy big baby! In the last two months he has grown 2" which puts him at 26.5", and he has gained 3 lbs now weighing in at 16.5lbs. He is in the 95% for length (no shocker there), 90% for weight, and exactly 50% for head circumference. I think he definitely has his daddy's "tall" genes in him. I have had to start putting him in 12-18month clothing this week. I think that is what he will be getting for Christmas -clothing! I hadn't prepared for having my 4month old in 12-18month clothing -crazy, he is just sooo long!!! He is also in #4 diapers which is suppose to be for kids who are already walking. I can't keep up with this kid! Plus, I believe he is in another growth spurt at the moment. He has been sleeping like crazy lately. I swear he will probably bi pass me in height in elementary school!
In other crazy news, Jack will be having a cousin in 2009. My little sister Cathie is expecting. It is not the "ideal" situation, but we are family and we will support her and the baby through everything. I think in a way, we are all excited for another baby in the family. Everything happens for a reason. Seriously, knock on wood, but what else can happen in 2008? We started off the year with me being pregnant, my dad finding out he has a tumor on his tongue then having to have a major operation that put him the ICU for a week with a trache and feeding tubes and a possibility of never speaking again (luckily he was able to speak shortly after he started to recover). Chad and Krista moved to Sioux Falls, SD. Jack was born in Aug, now Cathie will be having a baby in July of 2009. It has been an insane year, but we have never been so blessed.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was very tasty this year! We started baking the weekend before, we got some lefse (a Swedish bread) made which is the reason I come to Thanksgiving every year. I love that stuff! Vic and I always get a little break to just chill when we are around family cause everyone wants to hold Jack. So we were able to just sit on the couch and cuddle! My mom always teases us that you would think after 5 years of marriage and a child Vic and I would get sick of cuddling! Never! My grandpa Bob showed up for pie later that night and got a kick out of Jack. It was really cute. Here are some pictures of our thanksgiving, and one of Jack right now. He is sitting so peacefully on the couch in our loft while I write this. He is cracking me up cause he keeps laughing at nothing!

TWILIGHT!!

So we all went to Twilight opening night at 2:40am. Weirdly enough, we were all pretty wired once we got to the theater. I had heard some reviews about the movie prior to watching and was a little nervous. I wanted so badly for this movie to be amazing. I had heard that some of the parts were slightly cheesy, but if you are a twilight fanatic you will overlook it! Overlook it I did!! I absolutely loved it! I kind of thought it was awkward between Bella and Edward, and Jasper OMG HAHA!! You will know what I mean when you see him. He doesn't have more than a line in the entire movie, but the way he looks is hilarious! I am already anxious to see the sequel because I know the budget for that movie will have sky rocketed since this movie has done outstanding.
Also, you can tell we were surrounded by preteens because when Jacob came on the screen they all swooned. Ty was sitting by me and we just rolled our eyes and whispered back "EDWARD!" Loved this movie, loved the books more, but will watch the movie again and again.

Things that make me smile...

Watching my husband watch Jack splashing around in the bath. It is a guaranteed smile on all three of our faces at the same time every day. Its priceless.

Quick update on the MRSA

Jack has been doing amazing, he doesn't show any more signs of his MRSA. He does, however, have a really hard scar on his chin that has been causing me worry. I decided yesterday that I was going to bring him back to the pediatrician this week for a follow-up just to put my mind at ease. Well, me being the blonde I am, didn't put two and two together that I use to work at a dermatology office! Yes, hi there, hello! Luckily, I was talking to my friend Codi online and was telling her about when Jack had MRSA and she was all like "bring him in tomorrow morning!" So this morning we pack up and I bring Jack in to see Dr. Allen. He said everything looks good, and that the reason the scar is hard is because there is still inflamed cells underneath the skin. This should go away in a few months, and if the scar remained raised and hard, in Jan he can do something about it. He did take another culture of where the infection was, just on top of the skin, to see if there was still some MRSA there. I should find out in a few days. But he said that Jack looks really well and there is no reason for me to sanatize every 15 min!! Hahah! Basically, he told me to chill out in a very nice way. He even said it was ok for me to take Jack out of the house, and not freak out. I don't know about that one doc, we are still in RSV season. But, he did calm my nerves about MRSA and explained it in detail to me, saying it isn't as serious as the internet makes it out to be. Most adults have had it, but their immune system takes care of it right away, and all you notice is you have a zit. Such a relief!!

It seemed cold out to me today, so I got out the stocking cap. He looks adorable I think!! We were headed out to go and pick Koopa up from the groomers, and when we got there Jack flirted with all the receptionists the entire time. He just cooed and laughed, and had all the girls wrapped around his finger!

Ok, a few weeks ago I got tagged and I listed 5 quirks, I know I have a ton so here are some more!

1.) I am obsessed with my water jug I got from the hospital when Jack was born. I seriously take it everywhere with me. Obviously, subconciously, I am greatly attatched to it!
2.)I get in moods where all of a sudden my entire house must be cleaned that exact moment. Vic hates this quirk of mine, because I could get into this mood at 10:00pm and stay up cleaning all night.
3.)I can't leave a store without buying something for my son
4.)I have a bad habbit of loosing my sunglasses, so I continually am buying new ones. But as soon as one old pair shows up, they seem to all come out of hiding. I think I have 20 pairs of sunglasses right now.
5.)I love to pick at my husband's skin. I know it sounds grose, but I am an esthetician, what can I say.
6.) I can't think of another one, so I will just put one from last time. I am deathly afraid of the deep sea and the bottom of ships. It freaks me out! I think if I ever went on a cruise someone would have to lead me onto the ship while I had my eyes shut.

Happy 3 Months Jack!!

Well my little boy turns three months today! Somedays I can't believe he has been with us that long and others it seems like just yesterday that I was riding in the car to go deliver him. Crazy how time flies. This last month has been slightly a trying month with Jack getting MRSA. He is doing great, but does have a scar now on his chin. I pray that it will fade away since his skin is still developing, but if not, I am still gratefull this infection is gone and he did not have to go to the hospital. Jack, you are an amazing baby! This last week you really started to talk to us. It is crazy how we carry on these long converstations. You are absolutely adorable! You talked to dad all day yesterday and I think you really melted his heart. He could not get the smile off his face and kept wanting to hold you. Naps are still not important to you, but you are back to sleeping through the night. Oh and by the way, you are a monster! You have almost doubled your birth weight. Now weighing in over 15lbs. You are wearing number 3 diapers, and are in 9 month clothing. You love to stand on my legs and sit on my chest. Laying down must be for babies, cause you want none of that! You have also started this hilarious cry when you get tired, like you are too tired to really give it all your energy. I wake you up all the time cause I can't stop laughing when you do that. This last month you have also shown us how much you love to watch movies. I can sit you on my lap and you are perfectly content watching Nemo with me. Anything with bright flashy colors gets and holds your attention. Jack, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect baby. I love you so much and am glad I am your mama. Happy three months baby.
