The Struggle....

I love children, especially my own. I start a shoot hopeful I can get that one group shot that I can hang on my wall. Well it takes work to get them all looking at the camera...

So I start making noises and waving one arm, which causes all to smile but the oldest to copy with his arm...

 I then recruit the help of daddy, and he gets their attention...

However, the second child starts copying crazy facial expressions...

 We pause to look at photos in camera to see if I can switch heads and make the "perfect" photo.  This pause turns into a wailing session because baby girl stole a goldfish treat from second child (which is smashed on her mouth now), and chimes into the wailing...

 So I hand the camera over to daddy and tell him "just push the button I will make them smile."  It works, but I didn't notice second child was in the shadows...sigh... 

 We try one more time with me behind the camera and daddy trying to get their attention.  No luck... 

 Their may not be a perfect picture from this shoot but I got a bunch of pictures of my children being their silly cute selves. I am thankful for the struggle. :) ...sort of.

This photo-shoot was a good reminder that to get that perfect smile, sometimes I have to let him be his silly goofy self.

Cora Jane...

Since moving to South Carolina I have really taken a step back from photographing other people.  I have made it a goal of mine to take more pictures of my children.  Thus the reason for the Willardson overload.  I do one photoshoot a month of each of my children.  This has been so fun! Although, my boys would say otherwise. Some of my favorite photographers are those who primarily photograph their own children.  Why?  Because that is the stage of life I am in and I appreciate keeping up a hobby like photography but still focusing on the family.  Right now having photography more then a hobby seems to be overwhelming in my world.  A world that revolves around this little munchkin...

She really is a happy baby.  For this shoot I just sat her in front of this background with my boys playing around me.  She loves her brothers and these pictures prove it. :)
