We had a crazy and fun Halloween weekend. Jim arranged for a weekend getaway to Park City while Pam watched the kids. I got off work early we dropped the kids off at Pam's and headed up. We checked into our sweet condo and went out for a quiet dinner without the kids. The next day we had to listen to a "condo schpeel" (not the funnest way to spend 2 1/2 hours, but still worth it for 2 free nights in a nice condo). After a little bit of outlet shopping and a quick lunch, we headed back down to SLC to pick up the kids to go see a REAL soccer game in the Zions suite (Jim has the hook-up). Jimmy wore his costume and there was fancy food and any dessert you wanted. That was the best part. We could only stay until half time because we had to take the kids trick-or-treating and then get back up to the condo. I took the kids around the neighborhood and they got way too much candy, as usual. We then packed them up and took them to Grandma's for another night. We met our friend's Dugan and Charlotte there and got ready to party! All 4 of us got dressed up and went to Harry O's in Park City and danced the night away. It was a blast. Then after way to many laughs and way too much fun, we went to bed very late! Of course, then we had to get back to SLC in time to pick-up the kids and get to church because I had to do sharing time. CRAZY FUN! The End.

Thanksgiving Point

On July 3rd my sister and took the kids to Thanksgiving Point. There was so much to do there and we had a great time. It wasn't crowded at all, we practically had the place to ourselves. Here the kids are playing by a huge Noah's Ark, it was awesome!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I know I've told most of you, but I just wanted to post a little blurb about mine and Jimmy's mommy-son outing to see "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" at the Capitol Theater. It was quite a while ago, but it was so fun! We got free tickets from Zions Bank, they were excellent seats. Jimmy made friends with an older guy sitting next to us and Jimmy filled him in all about the story line since I had told him what it was about before we went. I had to tell him about the child catcher, so he wouldn't be scared. The guy next to him was glad Jimmy told him what it was about because he had no idea what "this Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" was about. I don't know why I ever thought Jimmy would be afraid of the child catcher. He asked during the whole first act when the bad guy was going to come and then for the next week, he was pretending he was the child catcher. He loved the theme song and a new song "Teamwork" and is still singing them all of the time. He called Grandma Kathy and gave her play-by-play of the entire show, including snippets of his favorite songs and then gave Sam the same play-by-play word for word. The show was great fun especially the flying car! It was so great spending time, just the two of us.


Two other funny things Jimmy has done:

He has a tank top that came with a pajama set that was on clearance. Jim hates him wearing it, so it sits in the back of his drawer. I told Jimmy to go get jammies on and of course he came out wearing that tank top and the smallest pair of shorts he could find. He came out of his room and Jim said,"Oh No!" I said, "He's fine he's just going to bed." Later that night Jimmy and I were playing and Jimmy looked down and said, "Hey Mom, I can see my elbows!" I laughed so hard and reminded him that they were his shoulders, but he still that it was cool that he could see them.

Yesterday I was fasting, (try explaining that to a 4 year old). Jimmy said, "Mom, aren't you eating breakfast?" I had no idea how to explain, so I just told him No. Jimmy said, "Did you already have breakfast?" I said No. Jimmy yelled, "Dad! Mom doesn't want to grow big and strong! She's not eating breakfast!"

Katie's Birthday Bash

I finally had a chance to post some pics from Katie's Party. We had a family barbecue, presents, and I made a huge cupcake for her to dig into, it was quite the celebration. She took a while to get into the cake, at first she just picked the sprinkles off, but after a while she was totally digging in.

Happy 1rst B-Day Katie!!!

I can't believe our baby girl is ONE today! Time really does fly. 1 year ago today we were anxiously awaiting her arrival. Katie is our little curious, mischievous and loving baby girl, not to mention stubborn. We never know what we'll find in her mouth or what mess she will be making next. It's anybody's guess how long she will fight before she finally gives in to sleep. She keeps us on our toes and energizes our whole family. Her bright eyes and smile light up a room and her giggle is contagious. She has so much love in her tiny little heart. Her eyes light up when she sees anyone she knows, especially her big brother, Jimmy. She loves him so much. She is a little jabber box and it is so fun listening to her try to make new sounds and words. She has 5 words now, Mama, Dada, Juh (for Jimmy), Hi, and pup pup. She's crawling all around now and cruising along the walls and furniture. I know it won't be long before she's walking. She's so much fun to have around and we are so lucky to have her in our family. Happy birthday "Katie Ladybug", WE LOVE YOU!

Just funny things

I just had to write 2 funny things that Jimmy did/said yesterday and today. Yesterday we were listening to Seusical on the CD player in his room. Katie kept climbing over to it and pressing all the buttons. I kept moving her away from it. I moved her to the other side of the room and set her down with a toy. I went into the other room to do the dishes. I came back a few minutes later to check on the kids and Katie was sitting in the back of Jimmy's big Tonka truck. I said, "How in the world did she get in there?" Jimmy said, "I put her in there. That way, she can't mess with the CD player." Well, that was resourceful, I thought.

Today I asked Jimmy if he was going to wear his shoes or his flip flops. He said, "Mom, I can't wear my flip flops, they are powerful, and they help me fight with weapons. I can't fight at the gym, so I can't wear them." Silly kid.

EASTER

I really pondered doing yet another slide show, but I decided to just post a few of the cutest pictures from our fun Easter festivities.

As an update, as of last Sunday, Katie is officially a crawler, she finally figured it out. I don't know how, but she always manages to crawl around the pile of toys I've put out for her to play with and crawl right over to a tiniest toy, or piece of fuzz on the floor that I missed picking up, so that she can put in her mouth, Crazy girl.

Vegas!!

Here is our photo shoot from Vegas. We went to Red Rock National Park and had a blast climbing all over the rocks. It was just like a big playland for grown-ups and you could climb or hike wherever you could get to. It was awesome. The whole trip was just a blast. Even though Dugan and Charlotte were really on college spring break, Jim and I got to pretend like we were too. We even stayed up until all hours of the morning goofing off and daring eachother to jump into the 60 degree pool. Brrrrrrrrrrr! This trip has become a tradition for us since spring break is always around my birthday and Charlotte's too. 3 years running now, and I hope we keep it up. It's cheap and just too fun. Katie @ 9 months and crazy Jimmy.

Here are a few cute pictures that I've taken recently of Katie. She is almost 9 months now, and for the most part, a very happy girl. She has two bottom and two top teeth that pretty much all came in one after the other. She has been a trooper through the whole teething thing! She loves to jabber and eat her toes. She loves Jimmy and smiles and laughs at him every time she sees him. She can say Mama and Dada. She's not mobile yet, which is funny because Jimmy crawled at 7 1/2 months, but speaking with other parents, I'm not too worried. Kids tend to have their own agenda for things. She has her check-up in 2 weeks and we'll see how much she weighs. I think she's about 19 pounds, which is crazy because Jimmy only weighed 17 pounds at his 1 year check-up. She seems big to us, but she's actually a normal-sized baby, unlike Jimmy, the midget.

Jimmy is such a funny kid. Any time I'm giving Katie a bath, he has to join her. This picture was taken when we were painting the bathroom, so I put Katie in the sink, and of course, Jimmy wanted to try this new bathtub too.
Jimmy usually won't sit through a whole movie, he sort of watches in sections, but man, does he pick up on quotes! He has a killer memory. He then uses these quotes in every day life. Some of favorites are: "Prepare to be amazed!" (Robin Hood), "Your future is about to change." (Meet the Robinsons), and the other other day we were playing Batman and I told him thank you for finding me a super suit, he says "No thanks is necessary Mom, my job is your job." ( I have no idea where he got that one from. He's such a funny kid.

Jimmy's Birthday Bonanza

Well, Jimmy's Birthday ended up being a fun-filled day. We went to our local fitness center and climbed the rock wall, played in the super duper playland, went swimming and then had pizza and presents. It was such a blast. We also made a cool pirate cake and I think Jimmy seriously got every present he has ever asked for. What a spoiled kid! Thank you all so much for coming!! I know it was a long day, but we are so glad you could share it with us. We missed a few a you who did not make it, maybe next year.
