Is it cold in here?

Even though it is almost 100 degrees outside I guess Anna was cold. She put Rob's socks on for leg warmers. I thought it was pretty funny!

Concert in the Park

Rob is in a jazz band that did a concert in the park tonight. Rob actually didn't perform tonight (he took a hiatus while he was the young men's - he was recently released so he's back in!). Anyway, the kids had a great time. What's better than good music, good food and good company!
The kids loved to dance together. They just kept twirling around and around...It made me dizzy!

Sara loves to be outdoors! She was content the whole time!
Anna had a bag of popcorn and was attempting to throw it in people's mouths! She's not a very good shot!

Anna and her Barbie

Lately Anna has become inseparable from her Barbie. Actually it's pretty cute. Tonight she had to bring her Barbie to the bath with her. When I washed Anna's hair, she washed Barbies. When I got Anna out and put her in a towel, she had to put Barbie in a towel (it was a washcloth but she didn't need to know that!). Then when Anna got her pajamas on Barbie had to have hers on as well....Anybody else sensing a pattern here? When I got her to bed she had to have a pillow and a blanket for Barbie as well. When I went to get this picture she was rubbing Barbie's nose with her blanket (she rubs her nose when she is tired). It was pretty cute! Oh and thank goodness we finally found clothes for her Barbie. All the clothes that we could find were so immodest. So we went to the Disney store and purchased some of the clothes for the Disney Princess Dolls. They worked great!

The Last Parade

I am completely paraded out! We went to another parade today. It was a lot of fun, but very, very long! It lasted almost two hours! That is almost unheard of for the Lehi parade. There were a lot of cute floats, fun bands and lots of cute kids. Anna caught her weight in candy. It was nuts! I don't think that I will need to buy treats again for about four months!

Another Parade

We attended another parade tonight. Don't worry. We are still not paraded out! We have another one tomorrow morning. Anna got so much candy! She would not let go of her bag! She ate a ton, add that to the heat and we had a wonderful throwing up incident! Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow.
Sara did super good. She loved watching all of the kids. She didn't like the sirens or the marching bands very much. I guess they were just a little too loud!

Grandpa and Grandma are essential for the parade. My girls loved being with them. Sara had a lot of bonding moments with Grandpa.

Sara discovered a new toy today. She loved watching all of the lights. She is growing up so fast! I can't believe it!

Round Up Days...Yee Haw!

I love this time of year. It is Lehi Roundup Days and the stock parade was today. It's not a great parade, just a bunch of horses parading down the street, but Anna loved it. Sara was also fascinated with them. She wore the biggest smile. Anna also got a lot of candy. That in of itself made her enjoy the parade. There is also another parade tomorrow and one on Saturday. Our candy supply is going to double! We always go with my mom and dad and Aunt Kassi. Anna loves being with all of them. Aunt Kassi helped her get a lot of treats!
This year we were joined by cousins Katie, Sophie and Calvin and Aunt Lisa. We hope they enjoyed it!


Also, I don't have pictures of it, but Anna completed her first year of swimming lessons today. She loved it. They taught her all kinds of songs and she goes around the house singing them. She even got to go down the slide today. She kept saying "Yee Haw!", "Wahoo!". It was pretty cute. I think she is going to miss going to the pool every day!

Finally Friends

Anna and Sara have decided to become friends. Sometimes Anna oversteps Sara's personal boundaries a little bit, but overall, Sara is more entertained than bugged by her. As I was walking out the door to go to Enrichment I saw the two of them sitting together and had to grab my camera. In the first one Sara is leaning over to suck on Anna's arm. In the second one I said Sara's name and she looked over at me....Yay! I'm so glad she recognizes it!
I may be prejudiced, but I think I have the cutest girls around!

An Ode to Sara

Like I said in my previous post, I am trying to take more pictures of just Sara. Last night she was being so cute, and she had cute pajamas on, so I grabbed my camera. She has been super smiley and very vocal the last couple of weeks. In fact, she was so loud in Relief Society that everyone turned and just started laughing at her.

In this picture she is sitting up by herself. She can do it for about two seconds before she tips over. She is growing up so fast!


Today she was pretty in pink. She loves her blanket and anytime I need to cheer her up I just grab that. We were having our together time while Anna was asleep. Too bad Sara would not join her because I was trying to rearrange furniture at the time. Our house is still turned upside down!

My Sweet Sara

I have noticed that I don't take nearly as many pictures of Sara as I do Anna. I vow to change that now! Last night when I was making Sara's cereal (I've noticed if I give her cereal right before she goes to bed she sleeps through the night!) and left Sara on the bed. When I came back she had found her "toy". Looks like she is starting out young!
Her hair is starting to fill in. We have had several people at church come and rub her head because they say it looks so soft. I am going to have to get a better picture of it. It is super soft!

If you give a kid a squirt bottle

Aunt Kassi came and gave Anna her second hair cut ever. Anna did really good and didn't seem to bothered by it at all. She did make me laugh, though, when she looked down and saw some of her hair on the floor. She looked up at me and said "Oh, no! Broken!" She was devastated that her hair was broken.
Anyway, Aunt Kassi let Anna have her spray bottle! Anna went nuts with it. She chased both Kassi and I all around the house with it. She even trapped Kassi in the pantry.

She then decided to turn the spray bottle on herself. She was soaked. I have now learned that if I want Anna entertained for more than 30 seconds all I need to do is give her the spray bottle!

Sleepover

I watched my nieces for a couple of days this last week. Anna had a blast! They all played really well together and luckily the weather finally worked with us so they were able to play outside most of the time.
Here is a picture of the two little girls pushing my niece Fuzzy in the hammock. I got that hammock for Rob for Father's day last year and it has been so great to have!Here are all the girls (minus Sara) enjoying the evening eating ice-cream.
The two little girls had to go "swimming" in my tub after they ate their ice cream. I think the floor in my bathroom had more water on it than the tub had in it.
All clean!


Here they are, all ready for bed. I had to laugh that Alli had everything Belle and Anna had everything Cinderella. It was a lot of fun to hang out with the girls (Rob was out of town at the time). Alli and Anna behaved most of the time and Missy and Fuzzy were so helpful. I love having them around! I hope they enjoyed themselves as well.

A Week of Firsts

We have had a couple of first this last week. I wasn't able to blog about them until now because Rob was in St. Martin (I know...rough!). Anyway here is what happened this week.

I have tried several times to get Anna to try and lick the beaters after I made a cake. This was the first time I was able to get her to do it. She loved it! She kept dipping the beater back into the batter. Sara tried carrots and loved them! Anytime I would get the spoon close to her she would start to flick her tongue trying to get them into her mouth faster. Some of her other favorites are applesauce, peas and beans. Funny thing is she absolutely hates bananas. I don't know of any other baby that doesn't like bananas.
We also went swimming for the first time this summer. Anna picked up where she left off last year, which is good because we start swimming lessons with her next week. Sara did not like this at all. We tried to put her into a floating tube and then just carrying her. Her reaction stayed the same the whole time, as seen in the following picture.

Two Litte Monkeys

Lately Anna loves being with Sara. I guess it is a love/hate relationship because sometimes all she wants to do is hit her. Here they are ready for bed. I don't know if Sara is quite sure what to think of this older sister of hers. I think she is a little weary of her!
