⭐ Football Update: Match Update & Schedules

Where do I start?

Well let's start with admitting that I am horrible at BLOGGING! I am not consistent and really wish I was! I would also venture to stay that writing is not my strong suit. With that being said let me get you up to date on our family.

1. My husband has been camping his ENTIRE life and when I entered the picture 12 years ago his sweet family included me on this family tradition. I know what you are thinking "camping was a tradition in every one's family until we built homes" (paraphrasing Jim Gaffigan...I love that comedian). We took over his parent's ownership in this campground last year and since then we have been camping at least 5 times. The #1 reason that I LOVE this campground is because the "wildlife" there consists of a RACCOON!

2. We finally broke down and bought a PLAY STRUCTURE for the boys. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have a backyard where the boys play every day. For so long we never even went in our backyard. It didn't help that there wasn't a fence on half of our property so Luke would run down the street every 3 seconds making our "outdoor" time not very enjoyable. We enclosed the backyard, added some flowers and installed their very own play structure. Now I can sit in my porch swing out back while they play and fully enjoy my time out there.

3. Kyle's twin sisters went to PROM! Yes, the two 6 year old girls that I met twelve years ago went to their senior prom. Their dresses were stunning and it was so fun to see them all dressed up.

4. Then they GRADUATED! Unfortunately Kyle (Their oldest brother) missed their high school graduation. He had been sent on some wild fire's just days before and wasn't released from the fires in time to make their graduation. He was extremely bummed but we sent him some videos and pictures.

5. Kyle has been working a lot lately. I am extremely thankful he has a job (especially in this economy) and am constantly grateful that the Lord continues to provide for us. At times it is hard for him to be away so much (like the 10 day stretch he did at work recently) but the long stretches of days off are wonderful. I go to many events as a single mom, but thankfully I have embraced this life and in general I don't fight it. He not only picks up a lot of overtime shift but he also has a second job as a paramedic skills instructor at a paramedic school.

6. WE GOT DISNEY PASSES!!! I saved up all of my birthday and Christmas money last year and bought my little family Disney passes. We have fully enjoyed having them again and went weekly with my family this spring. Our passes have been blocked all summer so I am super excited to go again in a few weeks.

7. Me, Jer, Jake and Amanda all went to a rodeo down in the San Diego area. Jeremiah really enjoyed it and we will have to make it a tradition.

8. We finished Pre-School/Kindergarten last year and had a great time co-oping with some dear friends. We will officially start home schooling Jeremiah in Kindergarten this year. I have his curriculum ready and I can't wait to work with him all year. Did you know that I was home schooled? If you ever have questions about home schooling please feel free to ask.

9. We LOVE snow!!! Kyle's grandparents have a stunning cabin in the mountains and let us enjoy it for a weekend. My family joined us and many of them saw it SNOW for the first time ever. We love eating snow, playing in it, making snowballs, shoving snow down the backs of jackets, turning purple from it and making snow angels.

10. Amanda started dating Jake back in January and we all love him. My boys call him "poppy" and cling to him when he is around. Jer has even told me "Jake is my favorite man".

11. Me and Kyle went with his brother and sister-in-law to VEGAS!!! This may be one of my favorite places to visit. I am a NIGHT OWL so this city is perfect for me. We went to vegas to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary and Kyle's 30th birthday. I will be going back next year for my 30th!

12. Jer loves to swim...but only with coach Jeremy at Blue Buoy. Who would have guessed that my child who would SCREAM bloody murder when I would wash his hair would one day enjoy swimming. I am so thankful he has embraced this since swimming has been such a JOY in my life.

13. Although we have Disney passes....we still enjoy Knott's at least once a year! Jeremiah is officially tall enough to go on almost all of the "Big Kid" rides and really enjoys them. Kyle gets in FREE to Knott's near Christmas every year because he is a fireman. It is something that Jeremiah looks forward to all year.

14. Luke knows how to BREAK DANCE! Enough said

15. Luke must have the disease PICA because he eats EVERYTHING! Sand (hand fulls), dirt, water on the concrete, ant covered cookies, June bugs, poops and I'm sure there is something I am missing. What is WRONG with him?

16. We try to go to as many LA GALAXY games as possible!

17. Luke has had 3 laser treatments this year (under general anesthesia) which makes 6 total. He is scheduled for 3 more this year. We are praying he doesn't get sick and everything stays on schedule. I haven't felt like it is fading as much as I had hoped which really makes me sad. I pray that these next 3 laser treatments really show a lot of improvement. I must say though, if anyone out there was to have a birthmark...he is the perfect person for it! He rocks that birthmark like nobodies business and I can see him now being asked as an adult "what is on your face?" and he would probably reply with "you should see the other guy". He is funny, sweet, charming and sincere. He is a BLESSING to our family and I can't even start to tell you how thankful I am for him because words are not sufficient.

18. We LOVE the beach! We go every Monday and have probably been 8-10 times this summer. The boys play in the sand and water for HOURS and I love seeing their imagination at work.

Well there you go....that is our LIFE!

Starting this September we will start Homeschooling!!! I am beyond excited to start this adventure but I have a lot of work to do before we will be ready. I need to organize the office badly which will include a colored rug so when the markers drop on my carpet no one will notice, a ROUND table (we currently have a square one and Luke keeps bumping into it) and a book case all organized with the books and craft stuff.

My hope for this school year is to introduce Jeremiah to kindergarten (even though he technically wouldn't start til next year). It will be low stress and TON'S of fun! I figured we could always repeat Kindergarten next year if he isn't ready to move on to 1st grade (which is what I'm guessing will happen since he is only 4). We will be doing weekly park days, monthly field trips, co-ops (hopefully) and just fun days at home learning!
