Things I'm Thankful For

A daughter who worries about the little things in life, like the tooth fairy not bringing money when the tooth was lost in a cousin's yard.

Daughters that love to play together, and look out for each other.

Two friends that encourage each other, and support one another.
A wife and son that bring many smiles to everyone.
A son who makes me smile by sleeping, eating, and playing.
A daughter who always makes us laugh even if it means acting like a goofball.
Children who love going to church.
A supportive wife who loves, and cares for us dearly!
Laughter that fills our house.
And most of all, the opportunity to be an eternal family.

Life

We recently moved into our brand, new....

We feel pretty fortunate for this new opportunity in our lives.  Needless to say, we have been busy arranging, rearranging, and generally enjoying life.  Nana officially graduated pre-school and Lena graduates from kindergarten tomorrow.  Hopefully, Boo will graduate from teething and move on talking more and more.  Thanks to the many family and friends who helped with the move.  We truly appreciate it.

A few of my favorite things...

Our Spring/Summer has been spent at the ballpark playing t-ball.

I have probably watched this video a few hundred times by now.  I actually spent one day at work watching it every fifteen minutes and smiling non stop.  Apparently, the league forgot how little t-ball age kids really are.  Do they really need a helmet the size of a small state?

We love our Nana, and t-ball.

This little Boo has been quite the handful lately.  Two weekends ago, she decided to have her first blowout as a child.  From her back down to her toes, yet she somehow laughed through the whole episode.  Shel is a great wife, and managed to get her cleaned up.  I know, I know, I should be a good husband, and clean up the mess.  Somehow, I cannot stand that smell.  Even after working at hospital, you would think I could handle the smell.  Nope, the smell still gets me!  

Lena has been quite the interesting little gal.  She has decided to take up playing sports.  Her current love is soccer.  She loves to play soccer at recess and wishes that she could in a league.  She likes to kick around a little soccer ball in the house and watch her sisters chase after it.  Her latest worry is that the big bad wolf will blow our house down.  Thankfully, her prayers have been answered and our house is still in one piece.

Nana is as content as they come.   She loves to go to school and church, but will not admit that she loves too. We constantly find her sneaking a treat, hiding some toy somewhere, and generally keeping us our toes.  She makes us laugh by constantly misplacing and use words/phrases: Oh my heck, where did I put that or my favorite, I can't believe it where did it go?

 

Favorite Picture Wednesday

There is something about old pictures that I love.  I wish I still had an old Polaroid camera.  To me, this picture is symbol of the love these sister's have for each other.  As much as they drive each other crazy at times, they also love each other unconditionally.  Over the past few months, I have noticed how Lena and Nana have taken Boo under their wings.  They play with her, chase her, look at books with her, and try include her when is something she can do.  It is truly amazing how strong a bond sisterhood is.  Hopefully, they will remember this when they are teenagers!

It's a ....

Does anybody know how to take care of a boy?  Number 4 isn't like the other children.    

We decided a long time ago to start enter the world of blogging.  However, it has taken us (mostly me, Papa), time to figure out what to say, etc.  I hope that in a way this becomes a journal of sorts, mostly since I stink at writing stuff down that I wanted to remember. 

I want to introduce to my family.  This is my beautiful wife; Shel.  She loves us and takes wonderful care of us.  Thankfully, she gets to stay home and work harder than I do at work. 

Next comes our oldest Lena.  She is in kindergarten, and currently getting older by the minute.  She has grown up way to fast, and continually amazes us with her desire to learn more.  By the way, our school district needs all day kindergartens!

Nana is our preschooler, whom I know wishes that she were able to go to the big school like her sister.  She too loves to learn, and continually makes us smile with her smile.  She will play by herself or with stuffed animals and loves using her imagination.

Last but not least, is our youngest child Boo.  She really wants her parents to get her a dog, but we need to stabilize our lives a little more before introducing animal into the family.  She loves to play in the storage bin beneath the oven and make her sisters play with her.

I am Papa Bear and love my job as a Radiologic Technologist.  I work at a world-class hospital, along side some amazing doctors, nurses, and patients.  More importantly though, I love my family.  They are pretty fun, amazing, and help me remember what is truly important in life.
