I was going through our videos with Daniel yesterday and I found some that I love from the last couple weeks. So you can enjoy them too.

This isn't the best video, but Daniel has learned to say rah, rah, rah rah rah whenever he sees BYU gear. The wall that he is looking at in our room has all of our BYU memorabilia up.

Grandma and Grandpa Kuhn brought Daniel several presents that he loves! Here is one of them. He has learned to say go and truck!

What does a dog say?

Daniel has started copying what we say. Whenever we point to pictures of Jesus in his book and say, "say Jesus," he will. Or when we tell him "This is a cow. A cow says moo. Say moo," then he will say it. But now whenever we say, "What does a dog say?" he will respond with ruff, ruff. Here he is.

Update on little boy!

Last week when I went to the doctor's they were a little concerned because I was measuring large for my due date. So they requested an ultrasound. I sure didn't mind. I love seeing my baby in the ultrasounds. According to the ultrasound everything looks great. This little boy is big, but he looks very healthy. Here are a couple pictures from the ultrasound.

So I know that BYU lost last night, but I still want to post my awesome picture of Daniel and I. The BYU game started at 9:15 for us here in Texas, and since we don't have cable I didn't watch it. Daniel and I went to bed and we sent Josh over to a friend's house to watch it. But I still wanted to support BYU and hope that they would win. So Daniel and I wore the pajamas that mom bought for us for Christmas. It is a little warm to be wearing fleece pajamas in Texas right now, but I had to show my school spirit.

Our little Daniel boy is walking. He still falls down a bit, but he always gets up and tries again. He loves the freedom that walking provides.

 

Daniel is also getting very good at waving. Often he initiates himself when he wants to get my attention, but he almost always waves when we wave at him. In this video he is waving with his back to me, but it is still cute.

More cute pictures

I have been trying to find some church clothes for Daniel for a couple months now. Every store that I go to tells me that they sells suits for little guys at Christmas and Easter and they don't sell just white shirts. So when we got to Aaron and Jenny's and they had lots of clothes for us to go through, I was really excited to find a white shirt and tie for Daniel. It fits him perfectly, and he doesn't even seem to mind wearing them. Here are a couple of pictures from the first day he wore a white shirt and tie to church.

Aaron and Jenny's kids are all into super heroes. They have a lot of costumes that they dress up in and they ask about playing super heroes all the time. I usually ended up being the bad guy and Daniel was my sidekick. Well one day they were playing with their capes (each of them have their own with the first letter of their name on it) and Daniel wanted to play too. Spencer was kind enough to let Daniel where his cape. Here is Daniel being superman! Isn't he cute?

It is official. We are living in Austin! After weeks and months of living all around, we are in an apartment again. Josh started his Master's program at the University of Texas at the end of August, but our apartment was not available until September 12, so Daniel and I had a fun time staying with Aaron and Jenny in Dallas until we could move all of our stuff to Austin. Josh stayed with a man in our new ward and went to classes during the week, and then spent the weekends up in Dallas with us. Josh knows the road from Austin to Dallas very well.

Joshua loved the game Star Wars Trouble. And Daniel liked eating the pieces that we weren't playing with, so I ended up playing A LOT of star wars trouble. It was a lot of fun!

Daniel loved to take all of the tupperware out of Aaron and Jenny's cupboard. Pretty soon Joshua and Courtney wanted to join in the fun too. For a while all three of them were playing inside the cupboard together.

Daniel LOVES Naomi. Every time he saw her he would crawl up to her with a big smile on his face. For the most part he was very gentle with her. This gives me some hope that he will be gentle with his little brother after he is born.

Aaron and Jenny kindly gave us a lot of the clothes that their boys had grown out of. This is Daniel showing off his new outfit and hat.

I have been meaning to update my blog a little more often, but it has been more difficult than I thought it would be. Last week I even wrote a blog post, but I never posted it because.......we don't have internet at our place. In order to get the internet we have to go across the street and without a computer with battery life, we haven't really been able to do it. But Josh got a new computer this week so I can now blog.

This week has been fun! Wednesday we had our 20 week ultrasound. It was an interesting experience, but the results were what we wanted. We have a healthy little baby that is measuring on schedule and is a BOY! I think I am finally grasping that Daniel will have a little brother. I was so sure it was going to be a girl that I was in shock. But it will be great for Daniel to have a little brother, and we already have everything for boys. I have been feeling the baby move a lot. It is fun!

This week we celebrated the 4th of July by going to the ward breakfast and then watching fireworks around here that night. Daniel loved the fireworks, but he loved our Friday even more. We took him to a kid's pool around here and then we ate dinner at a park that had a splash pad. He loved them both but especially the splash pad.

Life

 Life is continuing in the Kuhn household. I can't believe it. Josh went to his last undergraduate class on Tuesday. I can't believe he is actually graduating. We have a busy next couple weeks. Next week we get to babysit at my parents house and Josh has graduation. Then we have five days to pack up our apt and get ready to move out! I can't believe that we are actually leaving BYU. It seems unreal. Then it is off to my parents house for a little while, then we will visit Josh's parents, then Abby and James, and then we end up in CA for the summer. (if anyone knows of a cheap place to stay near San Jose, let us know). Then we head down to Texas for grad school starting in August.

So I have started to pack some boxes. I packed all of Daniel's old clothes and things. So we have four boxes stacked up in the middle of his room near his crib. Saturday we did laundry and I washed this blanket. I put it on the boxes to dry. Every time Daniel sees it he reaches his hands out to touch it and starts laughing. I guess he likes ducks.

Random Pictures from the Last Month

BYU made it into the NIT tournament this year. The first 2 games were hosted at BYU. We went to both of them. This is us at the first game. Daniel was given a old cell phone and he loves it. He is chewing on it here. Even though I never had a cell phone and he never played with Josh's phone, he knew that it was a fun toy.

Everyone came to this game. It was so much fun. Because BYU won this game, they went to the final four (in the NIT tournament). It was also right before Amanda left to the MTC. We miss her.

 

Josh mentored a robotics team in Mapleton this year. The robotics competition was in March and they did very well. They did better than this team had ever done before. And Josh was very proud of himself because his robot did better than his dad's robot. And that is something to be proud of, because his dad's robot is usually very good.

We really wanted to take Daniel to his first Easter egg hunt, so we had it all planned out. BYU said their Easter Egg Hunt and Easter activities would start at 9:00. So we were there at 9:00 ready for the hunt. Unfortunately, the hunt didn't start until 10:30 and we didn't want to wait for an hour and a half, so we left. But Daniel did get to do several track and field activities. This is him running the 100m.

We also took Daniel to the BYU spring game the same day. We looked good. I don't know if our offense is good or our defense is bad, but either way it was fun to watch. It was funny to hear them invite everyone to the home opener against University of Texas on Sep 7 and we realized that we will be AT UT on Sep 7. Crazy!

After New Years

After new Years we went down to Mesa with my dad, Amanda and Emily. We got to see Grandma Ray and enjoy the Ray Family Reunion. It was a blast!

The day after we got home from Mesa, we went up to Salt Lake to say goodbye to Amanda and Nathan. They left to join the Peace Core for 27 months. They left for Morocco.

We will miss you!

New Years!

New Years Day we went sledding down old main hill. I loved sledding here as a child and I was scared that it wouldn't be as fun now that I am an adult. But I shouldn't have been. It was even more fun now that I am an adult.

when we got back home we decided that we wanted to take Daniel sledding. They have a great little hill in the front of their house. We had a lot of fun!

Christmas Time

This was part of our Christmas break this year....the first part! 

Daniel and I went with Seth, dad, Emily, Ben and Elsie to visit Grandma and Grandpa Hill in Rexburg. We had a blast!

We went over to my parents house on Sunday and we were planning on going home that night and then coming back on Monday to stay for Christmas. Daniel fell asleep and we didn't want to wake him up to take him home so we stayed there. Josh was going to bring back our clothes and stuff when he came back from work. Well Daniel pooped through several outfits so we ended up not having any more clothes for him. Luckily Elsie had extra clothes so Emily let us borrow some. This is how our Daniel looked.

It was cute for the first bit, but pretty soon we were happy to have Daniel's clothes back. He definitely looks better in boys clothes.

For Christmas every year we do a talent show. Since Daniel was a perfect age we decided to act out the Nativity. Daniel loved being baby Jesus and fit in his manger ( a basket with soft blankets) perfectly and he didn't want to get out.

The best part of the talent show every year is my brother's skits. They always come up with them about 1/2 hour before the talent show starts but they are always hilarious. This year was awesome. Seth and Cam are the heads and Ryan and Jordan are the others.

Emily made us all matching hats for Christmas. We love them and wear them often. Daniel and I wear ours everyday when we go to the field house for our walk. It is so blasted cold around here.
