Flower Power

Tonight I had a much needed de-stressing girls night! We went to Grafe Studio in Chattanooga and I will go back FOR SURE. They were very informative and I learned a few things tonight, and I came home with a HUGE beautiful arrangement that I made all by myself:)

Also, my sweet friend Stephanie's mom made me these ADORABLE flip-flops and I am in love with them. HOW CUTE ARE THEY!?!

Now, time for bed!!!

the help

"you is kind. you is smart. you is important." ~the help

if you haven't read this book, go read it. i think it's on sale at target for $10 right now. I read it when we went to myrtle beach and I could not put it down. I laughed out loud and cried in front of strangers at the beach.

Tonight, i went with a bunch of ladies to watch it. after getting a formal invitation in the mail, i went to my friends house after work and she had mint juleps, sweet tea, fried chicken, slaw, beans, cornbread AND chocolate pie:) most girls wore their pearls and lilly pulitzer dresses:) I cried my eyes out throughout the whole movie. It was great.

I have been sad this week. Stressed. Ill. Irritated. Short. My right eyelid has been twitching. Last night, I slept on the couch because I got mad at Michael for emailing on his bright ass laptop from bed. I needed a good cry.

My memory verse this week has been: The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. ~Psalm 34:18.

I believe this verse, I only pray that I could live it right now. I can't explain how elated I am to be pregnant, to have such a great family, job, friends, REALLY. I have an awesomely blessed life. But I can't shake this unrest this week. I feel like a failure. scared that I'm going to let somebody everybody down. One friend at work told me to get used to the weepy feeling because it will last a least the next few years. perfect. Maybe I will go see that movie again, just to get some more tears out...AdaReece sure does love the kiddie combo:)

Good nights,
Dannis

sunny saturday morning

This morning, I decided it was time to get up and go for a walk. The puppies and I suited up and went for about 30 minutes through the neighborhood. The weather was so nice. And. We had 15 geese at the pond! So I brought out some bread and snapped some pics of them, trying out my big lens. I really need to study some photography websites but I haven't made time for that yet. The geese were a smidge boring so I brought the pups out on the front porch for their own photoshoot. They yawned through it. But they were much cuter than the geese, don't you think?

happy weekends!!

sometimes i surprise myself

I worked today. Not too exhausting today. Came home, took about a 45 minute nap, woke up and talked to my Dad for a while. Then, I decided it was time for dinner. We had some chicken in the fridge and I sliced it into tenderloins and mixed up an egg and some hot sauce in a bowl. and let that sit while I sliced okra that our Mrs. Cara and Mr. Duane brought us, and sliced, salted and peppered a tomato. Then I started frying the okra and Michael made it home- FINALLY. and I poured him a Blue Moon in a glass he stole from Red Lobster on Christmas Eve that we keep in the freezer for cold beers. Soon enough, I had fried the okra and the chicken and this was our simply southern fried dinner. It was beyond great. It was divine.

It was so good I almost forgot that I split my pants at work today. Almost. Oh well, Happy nights:)

AdaReece Elaine Weathersby

Finally, we decided on a name!!!

AdaReece Elaine Weathersby

I chose this name a while back but it took a while to make sure it was the right one and how to spell it out.
Ada- Germanic origin- Noble kind; of the noble sort, Hebrew origin-Adornment, African origin- Oldest daughter.

Ada (AH dah) is a Hebrew biblical name meaning "adornment". An English form of the name is Adah. Ada was the wife of Lamech and the mother of Jabal and Jubal. Another Ada was a wife of Esau and the daughter of Elon the Hittite. It can also be a short form of Adelaide, and is a West African name of obviously different etymology.

Ada, Countess of Lovelace was the daughter of Lord Byron. She is famous for having written a description of Charles Babbage's early computer, the analytical engine. A computer language is named after her.

Reece- Welsh origin- enthusiasm

Elaine- Greek origin- torch or bright light

Ada was Michael's grandmother's name(on his Dad's side). She passed away in March of this year. I met her twice. Once at her house on our way to the beach and once at Michael's Orthodontic graduation. She loved him sooo much. I remember she saw me rubbing and kind of scratching Michael's back while we were talking to family and she came over and said, "Hey! I'm supposed to be doing that- he used to always ask ME to rub his back!" I think Michael had her wrapped around his finger when he was little and AdaReece will have him wrapped around hers:)
Reece is my great-grandmother's  maiden name(on my Dad's side). My uncle and cousin's middle names are Reece. When I told my Grandmother Holland that we were naming her AdaReece she was so thrilled. She told me that when she was pregnant with either my dad or uncles, if it had been a girl the name they had picked was AnaReece-she was very specific about how she only wanted one n and put the two together! How crazy is that?! She had never told me that before. I know God had a plan when he gave me this name:)
My mom's middle name is Elaine. So, since I don't ever plan on honoring her first name(Frankie) Elaine sounded good:)

So that's sweet precious baby girl Weathersby's name. We can't wait to meet her:)
Goodnight:)

my weekend

Jordan and I went to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Back-to-School cookout and ate and watched people fish in the pond on Friday night....

After seeing Captain America in 3D, we joined our friends Christy and Will. Will's 27th birthday from Michael and me was a Smirnoff Ice. It's called "getting iced" when you present a person with a bottle and they have to drink it all at once on one knee. The only way to prevent "getting iced" is to carry a smirnoff ice on your person and show it to the person that tries to "ice" you and then they have to consume said Ice. It's very entertaining....

Sunday we got some clean up stuff done around the house and I snapped a few shots of the pups....

It was a wonderful weekend:)

Easy peasy

Last night, every night, I start the dread of deciding what's for dinner? Well. I happened to remember this app I downloaded a while back. The Betty Crocker app. It is awesome. They offer a recipe finder where you enter ingredients you have and it responds with recipes! So, I had ground beef and corn(it was on the top of the freezer pile.)

I searched that and read a few of the titles. Well, this one stuck out to me:

I had everything needed except the olives. I don't really like olives so instead I decided to add some "fiesta style" velveeta that had green chiles in it. I probably should've used rotel or salsa but my dish was deeeeeelish! Here are the leftovers after having it for dinner last night and tonight.

I have used the app before and I can't remember what I made but I loved that it used what I had. This recipe was super simple and really tasty and filling. I served it with black beans. Which I just learned last week you are always supposed to rinse before heating-who knew?
Happy Wednesday!

She's moving and grooving:)

A few weeks ago, Michael went to his office to get a stethoscope. Because we heard we may be able to hear her heartbeat. Dr. Reynolds remembered he had an old "sonicaid fetal heart detector" from about 20 years ago. When he did TMJ studies. So we tried it and could hear my heartbeat but not hers. Well, Saturday morning I was having some aches and just wanted to try it again. It worked! I heard her heartbeat and counted it several times. It was fast! We this morning, after church she was really moving so I recorded it.

Michael also wanted to try:

I go tomorrow for another checkup. They aren't supposed to do an ultrasound, but I am so excited to see what they tell me about her growth!
Goodnight!
