Krafty tips and tutes: creating a mirror effect

Hi everyone!

Krafty Girl Deborah here with a little tutorial for you!

It's almost Halloween, so I thought to share a little trick to give a mirror effect to your colouring.

I used the gorgeous stamp Witch Wanda.

First you have the colour the whole image or the mirror part, just like you coloured the main image.

After that you just start to flick some stipes on a corner of the mirror with the darkest colour ( Copic W5).

Of course you can do the same with pencils or other colouringmediums.

Next step is to flick the previous lines a bit further into the mirror with the medium colour (W3)

 Blend the colours out with a W1 marker and go a bit in the coloured part of the face in the mirror

 Blend everything a bit together with the lightest colour. (W1)

Add some white lines with Copic Opaque White or a white Shapie pen on the mirror and  erase it a bit with your fingers and tadaaaaa.... There's the effect!

 I said it was simple, right?!

Tutorial Copic achtergrond kleuren met airbrush effect

Hallo allemaal!

We zijn reeds november en dat wil zeggen dat we de kerstperiode aan het naderen zijn.

Zijn jullie al begonnen aan de kerstkaarten?

Ik in ieder geval wel! Maar wees gerust je hebt nog tijd in overvloed! 

Deze keer heb ik voor jullie een tutorial gemaakt van hoe je een achtergrond kunt kleuren met airbrush effect.

Ik heb helemaal geen airbrush, misschien koop ik wel eentje in de toekomst, maar zo kan het dus ook.

Met enkele blauwe markers heb je genoeg.

Dit is de stempel die ik gekleurd heb "Snowball Fairy" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps en de achtergrond.

Ik hoop dat jullie er iets aan gehad hebben!

Mijn kaart bestaat uit een eenvoudig design opgefleurd met wat pailletjes. De vleugels, het bustiertje, de sterretjes en haar oogschaduw zijn voorzien van wat glitter, dus de nodige dosis blingbling is er.

Hier zijn dan nog de Copic Marker kleurtjes die ik heb gebruikt:

huid: E04, 11, 21, 00, 000, R02

haar: E59, 55, 53, 50

rood: N7, R59, 46,24

turquoise: BG78, 75, 72, 70

sneeuwbalrok en kraag: C3, 1, 0

ogen: B37, 34, 32

sterretjes: E35, YR23, Y15

blauwe achtergrond: B02, 00, 000, 0000

Tutorial: sky

Hi everyone!

Today it's my turn to share a tutorial with you all at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

There are so many requests if I can show you how I colour my sky with clouds.

So I decided to do that.

Remember, there's no right or wrong, only your own interpretation and creativity!

We start with stamping the image on good colouringpaper. I use Neenah cardstock, but it will work on other too! I've used "Icy Fairy" for the example.

First step: I draw some clouds with my C0 marker. I like to have them "flat" underneath the cloud and fluffy on the top. I always try to have 3 or 5 clouds on an image. The results are the best if parts of (some) clouds are behind the image, that way the image pops. I draw the clouds bigger at the top of my image than the clouds on the bottom. (They are much further away)

If you are happy with the clouds, you can create shades in the notches with your C3.

Blend your C3 out with your C1 marker and look at those clouds, they are coming alive!

The last step for the clouds: create some extra shading at the bottom of the clouds with your C0 marker. The clouds are ready!

Now we have to fill in the sky. We start with B00 around the image (not in the clouds of course) and flick to the outside.

Blend it out with B000 and add some extra long parts of sky between the clouds.

Blend it out with B0000 and fill in the white parts with it. And now your image is ready!
