Good News

We have good news all over the place!
David and Neena are having a girl in September!
Yeah! We are so excited for them and can't wait
to see her sweet face.
Dusty only has five weeks left and he will report
home from his mission in Alabama. We have been
blessed to have him safe through all the crazy tornadoes
that have devastated the south. Pretty scarey. He helped with
the clean up and said hundreds of people lost their homes. I
don't think he will mind being in 100 degrees of the dry
Arizona heat when he gets home. When we talk to him on
Mother's Day he had a bit of an accent.

Random Act Of Kindness

The other day Danee' and I were at the drive thru getting some dinner. I had passed a young father walking with his little boy. This was the day that it had snowed in Mesa. It was so cold outside! I watched as the two crossed over into the grocery store parking lot. The young boy was about three years old and wore a little sweat shirt and red mittens. The father had a jacket and a back pack on that I assumed would be to carry home the groceries. As I watched I saw a car approach them and stop. It was a woman about my age who rolled down her window and ask where they were headed. I could tell by the motions of the father that they were going into the grocery store. The woman handed a scarf through the window of her car and motioned to the little boy. The father then wrapped the scarf around his young son's neck and padded him on the back. They waved to each other and the woman drove away. What a kind and random act of kindness. Danee' and I teared up a little as we thought about how we should all be like the woman in the car.

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Thank goodness for a daughter-in-law who helped me update my page! Ha! I couldn't have done it myself. Just to let everyone know what is going on with us, I am still working at Down East Basics. I am the District Manager over the Arizona stores. The girls that work for us are amazing and work their little hearts out to make sure everything is as it should be.
We have five grandchildren that are just the cutest things ever. I can't get enough of each and every one. Gwendolyn is the youngest and just started to walk.
Dusty is on the last lap of his mission. He will be home July 1st. He has had a very successful mission and has grown both as a man and a missionary. Can't wait to hear his voice on Christmas Day.
Danee' has grown up too this year. She is in Choir and Dance at school and is taking Ballroom dance as well.
Mark is on an Elk hunt right now. Let's hope I can post some pictures of a really big bull!

It has been a while

Today I have decided it is time to update my blog.
I know it has been a while since I added anything.
I have been busy opening two new stores for DownEast Basics.
We are now in Tempe Market Place and on Oct. 8th we will
be opening our Arrowhead location. Lots of work! But so much
fun to see all the new fall clothing.

Dusty is doing great in Mississippi. He had a baptism last week
and one coming up next weekend. He loves letters and always says
he thinks people have forgotten about him. Trust me Dusty we think
about you all the time.

Danee' started her Junior year of High School. Crazy how time flies.
Mark is still looking for employment and I am now the district manager
for DownEast. Busy all the time but so thankful and grateful for the job.

It is getting HOT!!!

Hope every one is keeping hydrated! The Sun has come out! The garden is not as big this summer just because of time. But the Yellow crook neck is doing great as well as the tomato pots. Stayed tuned for pics of what my husband has been up too! No more blue!

Garden Time!

It is time to get the last of the summer garden in! I have planted yellow crook neck squash and zucchini. Don't forget that cucumbers do very well and last year my watermelon went crazy even in the heat of the Arizona sun. I will post pictures as we go along!
