Thoughts

That is an amazingly original title for my post, don't you agree?  Have you ever had knowledge of something and you weren't sure what you're supposed to do with it?  I feel like I've seen street signs pointing my life in certain directions, and that gets me excited.  But while I feel I'm treading towards my particular destination, the distance I have yet to cover gets discouraging.

It reminds me of something I used to tell Derek when he'd get discouraged about school, because getting his bachelor's degree was difficult for our family and I know he often wondered "WHY?!"  I know he wanted to give up, but I told him it's like planning a trip to New York but turning back to Boise once you reach Chicago.  Yeah, you got to Chicago, but what about New York?  That's how I feel about a few things in my life right now.  I believe I'm supposed to go in a certain direction, but I want to reach my destination NOW!  I want to be immediately rewarded for following the traffic signs keeping me on course.  When I keep traveling and see that I still have detours to take and connecting flights to meet, I wonder if I'm reading the map right.  The odd thing is I'm not entirely sure where my destination is, but I do have a good hunch what neighborhood its in.

Am I being cryptic enough for you?  I guess this is what having faith is all about.  Knowing Someone greater than myself knows my plan and has known it before I existed.  Just gotta keep plugging along and knowing which signs to follow.  And just because it's going to take longer than I want to get to New York, it doesn't mean that keeping on my path isn't going to be rewarding.

'Kay, be my guest.

Alayna has this gnarly wart.  It started out pretty small a few months ago.  I asked our doctor what to do about it and he told me about the duct tape method so we tried it and it worked!  Then the wart grew back.  I bought an at-home freezing kit and tried it four times.  The wart became a mutant giant.  Then Alayna wouldn't stop playing with it. It cracked and bled and I couldn't look at it. Believe it or not, before we saw the doctor today it looked worse than this.  Today at the clinic the doctor froze it twice and we're going back in two weeks for more liquid nitrogen action.

I told you it was unpleasant.  If you don't like it or feel the need to run to the toilet to barf, it's your own fault.  (maniacal laugh, maniacal laugh)

Landscaping 2012

We did some landscaping on Memorial Day!  It took ALL DAY and three trips to Lowe's.

After we dug everything out:

Class of 2024

Isaac 'graduated' from kindergarten this week!  They had a nice, short little presentation in the courtyard at the school.  Be sure to watch the video.   Very cute!
