AML Leukemia/Chemo Stay

 

 

 

He was put in a medical coma on 3-19-10.

The pictures were taken 3-20-10.

The bottom picture shows how bad of we knew he was.

We sent for family.

But, we didn't tell the kids or his cousins that we were afraid it was the end.

Won't go into all the details.

 

March 20, 2013

 

 

He is now intubated through his nose and heavily sedated. The surgery went well, took a little over 6 hours and Ent is happy with every thing. Sorry it took awhile to post. He didn't get back to his room from OR til 530pm and been busy with all the hospitals things getting him all settled. Will post more later.

This is what ENT gave us on the way out the door.

Been awhile

Life has kept me busy and away from the blog. I hope to do better. Here are some pictures from Valentines day to brighten Your day.

The wee man had been sick with a GI bug just a day before. He is still not a hundred percents and his sats are off his base line but he has been getting better through his siblings love.

Winter Wonderland

The other 3 kiddos were outside shoveling and so I put Gabriel in the gate trainer and off we went. With the snow on the ground he couldn't move too fast. But the boys and I came up with an idea. We are going to take one of the broke shovels and turn the gait trainer into a baby snow plow!!!! Stay tuned for those pictures. We have yet to work on the design. Oh and he needs to invest in snow tires or chains.

SUPRISEEEEE

Mommy was not feeling that great this morning . I was busy playing and came up with the idea to surprise her. Because we all know how much fun it is to see her have a heart attack!!!! An it has been at least 3 months since I pulled this trick. So, when she came to get me for breakfast--- TADAAAAA!!!!!!

But today she saw my surprise and she just sat me down. Then she started gathering things quickly and kept looking at me and the clock. She got me  new trach, ties, surgie lube and a rolled up towel. Then she looked at me and the clock. She then jumped up and came down with a probe and the pulsox. By then 10 minutes had passed. She hooked me up and my Sat's were Perfect. She watched me and by the 20 minute mark she decided to end my fun. It took a few attempts and the 4.0 would not go in so she went and got my one size smaller trach and it went in. So after 20 minutes mom tried again and my 4.0 went in.

She has no idea how long ago I pulled it out before she came got me. Did I do it where I pulled my HME off at or did I do it in the play room. I didn't give her any hints and I am not telling. If you hadn't guessed I pulled my Trach out (decannulation).

Amy here now that Gabriel is done telling his side off it. He is fine and as you can see his Sat's were good.  I hope this is a good sign and can't wait to see his ENT in a couple weeks!!!! He was playing and making sounds!!!! It was awesome. Last year he would have been grey/blue and needed immediate help.

I am praying that this is Gods way of telling me -- He is one step closer!!!!! 

I'll admit yesterday was a wicked pity party day.

We were asked by the Childrens hospital we go to if we were interested in helping to promote The Irving Fuel the Cure Gas Card Program that we participate in. I jumped on it as a way to teach my kids that we must give back  to a program that has helped us out so vey much. To those who much is given much is expected.

 

In the 3years and 9 months Gabriel has been alive we have qualified for the gas card too many ways to count. The distance we live, the need, the in patient stays and the many out patient clinic visits. For us it is 2 hours to the Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth. An while a $10 gas card does not seem like much - it is a lifesaver. (I won't go into the ins and outs of the program). There is quite a need - the cards use to be $20 but because of demand and running out- they lowered it to $10 to help more families.

 

 

So to Irving Fuel the Care - Thankyou for thr kindness of the program and the lovely framed picture. An the Gas cards!! An to DHMC-  Thankyou for participating in the program and the great care my son has recieved.
