 My sister asked if I wanted to take a day trip with our kiddos to the coast for the MLK holiday! SO we did! Thanks to the hubby who got us on our way with treats and a tank full of gas...off we went for a rather laid back day just going where the refreshing sea air would take us. First it was a visit to the Pier at Pismo and then of course our favorite Splash Cafe chowder for lunch. We then headed to Avila to sit for a bit and enjoy the amazing view. The kids played in the sand building a castle and flying kites. After a few hours playing we brushed off the sand and went into Morro Bay for a stroll down the Embarcadero. Then onward back home. I always love being near the sea. It's humbling and amazing all at once! Thanks for a great day sissy!

I'm Baaaacccckkkkkkkk!...well at least I'm trying to be...lol!!!!!!

As I read my friends blogs I am constantly reminded of what a great journal a blog can be. And I definitely desire to keep a journal of my kids lives growing up..so why was I stuck on blogging?! Well it can be any number of things. Shall we list a few? Busy, kids, work, calling, family, housework, lousy computer, photo frustration, to much FB...really I could go on forever and ever. But I won't! It's time to brush of the epic failure and start anew. Right?! So here goes nothing. Wish me luck!!

Wedding Fun!!

I received an awesome opportunity to be a co-planner for a friends, daughters wedding reception this past Saturday. My friend Caleen and I were asked to help plan it. We spent many hours crafting and collecting and creating for the reception. After putting our heads together this is the amazing result we came up with(keep in mind decorating a church cultural hall is not an easy task..lol).
The bride knew and saw many parts of our creating and planning process but we didn't let her see it complete until the very beginning of her reception. She was very happy with it as were all the guests who were most impressed with it. Awesome job Caleen, Kari, and Maddy! Thank you for this amazing opportunity to apart of a great beginning for a special couple!!

I unfortunately didn't get really good photos of everything as I was busy the whole night, but i hope that their photographer got some awesome shots of the entire stage set up and the photo wall and the ice cream sundae bar as well as the tables and centerpieces. More to follow....hopefully!

Boys Night Out

Chris and our friend Bo along with the Papa's had a boys night out last friday to go see the monster trucks at the fairgrounds. The boys were soooo excited!! It was Lukie's first Monster Jam and he couldn't stop talking about seeing the big trucks.

My baby sister had her bridal shower today. It turned out lovely!! The MOH Joanna and the bridesmaids picked a wonderful place to have the shower at Piazza Del Panne. Shelb and I, along with Joanna's emerging Martha Stewartness took on decor and dessert of course. We indulged in delicious sandwiches and salads followed by cupcakes and Michelle's favorite bundt cake Chocolate Chocolate Chips dusted with powered sugar. The favors were enjoyed...thanks to Nancy who baked them for us to decorate and package. Michelle seemed to enjoy her special bridal shower day. Now.....on to the nuptials!!!!
