My Little Star Gazer

I needed something in my front hallway (tons of bare walls!)
I made a silhouette picture for my sister and decided

to do something similar for me.  

I love canvases and decorating with them!
So cheap and yet endless possibilities!

Good Will was a great place to find a cheap

book to pull apart.  I had to spend a little more

than if I was getting a paperback novel (I decided

I didn't want anyone to accidently be reading the picture

and realize I had put up a sex scene or have bad language)

I decided on "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe"

I will confess, I copied someone's art off of Google Images

for the little girl.

She started out as a fairy, but I didn't want wings

and ad-libbed on some of the branches/leaves.

 I love the way she turned out and can't wait to 

add more decor to the house!

Finger Puppets

I saw on a friend's blog, the five monkeys and alligator finger puppets (thanks Courtney!)

and decided that would be perfect for my niece...and my mom (we might be in love with this 

finger play story).  

And then I had to make a little bag for the puppets to go in! 

 My mom's set are a different color (not pictured), and she was quite

"disappointed" when her bag didn't have her name on it lol. 

After making the monkey set, I decided my other niece needed a set too, but

since they are sisters, I didn't want to do the same.

So I made up a pattern for "Goldilocks and the 3 Bears"
I love my Goldilocks!  

And of course, her puppets had to have a bag too! 

I tried to make each girls' bag/puppets just a little different.

My sister said they loved them!!!

Ballerina Board

I've been so excited to post the Christmas presents I made,

but wasn't sure if my little sister would be peeking!

My sister is a ballerina, so I had my other sister

take pictures of her in different ballet poses.

I've been playing with water colors, but didn't want to 

waste my colors on such a big project.

So I had this idea of using food coloring and vinegar.

It worked great!! The picture isn't very good, but it has

yellow and pink tones throughout (hence why it looks orange),

but the colors didn't blend completely - so it looked cool.

Then of course I had to add some sparkle!

So I add glitter to some modpodge and covered the whole thing.

I cut out her silhouettes and added them and then mod podged the whole thing again!

I love experimenting with new techniques that I'm sure all crafters know, but I'm still learning!

My Room!!!

I finally cleaned my room enough to the point

that I felt like sharing.  

I love my room! Everything is organized and I have floor space that I can 

spread projects out. 

Yes...I share it with our food storage, but it could be worse.
I could still be sharing my craft room with the living room and office!

Fall Decor

I know..
it's Christmas time.
But I just took down all my Fall decor and realized I hadn't taken pictures!!

 I'm pleased to introduce...Gobble, Gobble, and Gobble!
I had some little cardboard boxes leftover from a shelf we bought.
Covered in paper- they make cute turkeys!

 Can I just say I love blogs?! I found a cute pattern for paper 

flowers and then paper pumpkins!
I know they are hard to see, but the candles have
peas, corn kernels, and red beans.  Loved the colors!
And my favorite quote!  I found the quote and decided

to do my living room around those colors...for fall atleast.

 This was my favorite project!  The Lowe's guy looked at me 

funny when I requested him to cut a board into so many pieces!

I needed something that was inexpensive but would take up 

a lot of space on a wall.
4 of the boards are paper or paper designs, Three of them I painted (and had fun coming up with the designs),
and the last one I spray painted washers and arranged them in a "D" for Drolette...

I can't wait for summer time!  I already have some ideas for

the new boards!!!!

Card Making/Paper Folding

While still in Pullman, a friend took me to a paper fair- where they showed all sorts of different paper techniques.  I really liked quilling and teabag folding. 

The artists did huge projects - but I've decided that I have the attention span for cards lol

Mother's Day Cards 

The next few- my Mom and sister helped me make for a family auction...
we were up half the night making them - but the group sold for $20!

I was pretty stoked!

I love doing these cuz I can use my scraps of paper - and I hate throwing out paper

if I think I can use it lol...

Water Color Kick

I really want to be artsy- or atleast pretend.   

I forgot how fun this was when I was a kid.

 I know...it looks like what your kindergartener does- but it's very relaxing.  I want to take classes and get "real" supplies. But first, I have to prove to myself that I really want to do it first...
