The Miracle That is Christmas

The living room was all picked up, the Christmas CD was in the stereo, and the mood was perfect. The boys were practically reverent as we opened the storage bin which contained the Christmas tree.

We carefully sorted the branches by size and then felt the magic in moment as the artificial tree came together from the stand up.

Daniel and Dallin worked beautifully well together in helping to assemble the tree. Two boys who struggle to play nice these days suddenly united in purpose.

You could feel the spirit of Christmas in the air -- it had changed things for us. We had stopped answering the phone, we had stopped running errands, we were still. My thoughts drifted to the words of my favorite Christmas song..."Silent Night. Holy Night. All is calm. All is bright."

I watched as my children's faces were lit by the tiny white lights. There is nothing quite like that glow.

The night was full of sweetness, laughter, and true joy.

I tried to capture as much of the fun as possible on camera so as to share it with you. Enjoy.

The Packard Family

Carson with Grandpa & Pumpkin

"Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see..."

Both boys found beautiful pumpkins that matched their identities perfectly.
Dallin found one that was cute and round.

Danny took extra time and care to find the perfect jack-o-lantern pumpkin that was tall and lean. He also made sure to grab one for Grandma Barbie since she had to work that day.

Wagon Ride

After picking delicious SunCrisp apples, we headed over to the pumpkin patch on the tractor-drawn wagon. It was a beautiful day with the wind in our hair and the smell of apples on the breeze.

Pumpkin Photo Op

Every fall we visit Eckert's Farm for apple picking and a visit to the pumpkin patch.
Here's Uncle Danny with Carson, Delia, Danny, Lainey, and Dallin.

Smiles for Auntie Boo

At Grandma & Grandpa's house, Darren turned on the charm for Erin (Auntie Boo).
There was an abundance of giggling and laughing.
Darren enjoyed the attention as illustrated by the tongue sticking out.
Tongue Out = Darren Happy.

What's Up Cuz?

This is Darren hangin' with his cousin Carson. In this picture Darren is 2 months and Carson is 9 months old. What a bunch of chubbies!

The Greatest Aunt

While the little ones roamed free,
Darren got to snuggle with his Great-Aunt Diana.
He was happy to be huggin'!

The Discovery Room

After chasing the little ones around and panicing every 5 minutes because someone was out of sight. Holly & I took our little ones to the discovery room where the fun was contained and we could let them run free a bit.

Dallin was eager to show the man in charge his ticket.

Julie was fascinated with the doll house. She's sure to make a great mom!

Holly was being cute wiht her new hairdo!

Hey Lainey, strike a pose!
