Fetch i am so glad that that package made it. The other one should be on the way and will probably be there this week some time. I didnt think that other one would make it though. Did you give the right ties to grandpa staheli and hukill? The red was for grandpa hukill and blue for staheli. Haha i am glad that you got a laugh out of the fox fur. Haha Merry Christmas early. The ladies here still wear fox that it is hot. They all have big fur coats and stuff like that. So enjoy. Dad your stuff is coming soon. They are bringing packages this week. So fear not. I dont think i am going to open them though but i will on Christmas. Our land lady is making us Christmas Eve dinner and we are just going to hang out with the other Elders. Nothing to exciting though. New Years is the big holiday here for them. We dont eat very often and members but when we do its is either borscht or sandwiches. And the sandwichs here dont have a top. Its just bread and meat. And the drink is this nasty fruit stuff that i dont like called compote but i choke it down anyways. Haha I am so glad that you got to talk to Sister Bennington and hopefully you get to meet her. She is way awesome. Haha i am suprised that she didnt lose the number that i gave her to call you guys. Who is Sam Bradford? So much for the big thing of Tebow winning it last year as a sophmore. Who won the world series? That is awesome Tyson had his interview. I completely understand about things not moving as fast as you would like them. That is definetly one thing that i have learned since being here. Be careful with the money. Everyone here is like freaking out because of the "crash" or whatever happend. I figure it wasnt that big of a deal because you have said anything about it. I set up a Skype account but maybe it didnt work because it was in Russian. I found Lyndsi on it though and sent her a little message. We will probably call about 8 in the morning your time. That is 5 PM here. Yes i can get a web cam and all of that so it wont be to big of a deal. One of the Elders in our District knows alot about that stuff so it will be all good. Haha that is funny what Grandpa Hukill said about Fetch. That is like my favorite word. Haha tell him i still think about the time me and him went and got my car inspected at that shady place on Bluff. It has been about 30 degrees the last couple of days in the afternoon so it is cold now. We met these chinese people here that spoke a little english so we got there number and had a lesson with them. We watched a movie in chinese with them. Haha i would have never have guessed to watch a movie in chinese on my mission. They were so cool though. I will try to send pictures today. Our branch has a Ping Pong table (and by the way i fetching destroy at Ping Pong now haha not to be cocky but i cant wait to play you all when i get back) but we played them and they were amazing. Typical chinese sterotype. They were good. But then we met them again because they were going back to china and i gave them some of those cheap CTR rings i bought in the MTC and they loved them. The were so cool. No wonder China has more Baptisms then Europe. They also had no idea though who Jesus Christ was. Anyways everything is going good hear and i love you guys. Haha Braxten is so fetching lucky to have Papa Johns. Fetch that would be awesome to have something like that. The pizza here isnt bad but its definately not Papa Johns. That is crazy Utah is playing Alabama. Best of Luck to them. Haha. I found out that i am NOT getting transfered yet. So that means i have another 6 weeks here and another 6 weeks to baptize BoBa. I am glad that i get to stay for one more but i think after this next one i will be ready to leave here. The Russian is coming along well. I can talk to people and have conversations. But sometimes i have no idea what the fetch they are saying. Only the Sisters have Cell phones but we have home phones that they call if we are getting transfered. I was pretty nervous but its alright. That is funny that 2 people called for me last week. Just so you know i am probably going to pull off alot of money here soon because the exchange rate is so high. Its almost 8 for 1 so yea just so you know. And also if you could tell me excatly how much is in there that would also be helpful. Is Zach really going back for a girl? We could do that just so you know. I come home then we can come back later. Thats good that packages are there but i wonder when i will get them. Oh well. I hope that the package i sent last week gets there. So i will set up a skype thing so i hope you all have done that too. I guess i get one trial call so we will see. The food here though is pretty much normal because we make our own food. Haha but sometimes we eat with members and it is a little strange. I dont really like the drinks that they give us. That is crazy that (mom) your roommates sons companion is Mack. Haha i wonder how Mack is doing. That is so crazy that their mission president is so strict. Thats good though. If i have am a mission president thats what i would do. Haha that is funny about Makenna saying bad things. (Fetch that was scary my computer just turned off and i thought i lost this email Haha i had to go talk to the guy and i didnt know how to explain it to him. But i got it) Anyways My companion and i have already figured out christmas so we will have fun here. I can remember if i said it was warm here last week but it was. It felt like St. George. I was sweating alot when we would get home and just have to take off all of my stuff as fast as i could. But yea today its cold and it rained all day yesterday. Haha it was nice while it lasted. Destroy BYU?

Hey,

I thought that that Doxycycline was antibotic but i wasnt sure. It didnt seem big enough. I will take some though when i get home just to kill this thing off. And yea you can buy pretty much whatever you need. I just walked in and bought it. They have all of the movies over here too. Some english students said madagascar was funny and that the new james bond rocked. Whats it called in english? It looks pretty sweet and they said that the girl in it is from Ukraine. So i will be expecting some packages next month then. Haha i hope they all make it. I find out in a couple of weeks if i stay or go. My companion and i have alot of talks that have been given in the past and they are all really good. Alot of them talk about america and how it is the Lords choice land. And trust me it is. Tell Birkes i say hi and that i love him. Haha i miss that kid. You are so fetching lucky you get to go to the BYU/Utah game. I hope they destroy BYU. When is the game? Who is number 1? If you want in any of your packages put some stuff in there for him (BoBa). If you could buy a Taking Back Sunday CD for him that would be awesome. They are a band. So we put BoBa on date for baptism last week. I am so pumped for him. He is an awesome kid but we still need to talk to his mom about it so we will find out. Pray for his mom that she will have a softend heart and be understanding. It is in 2 weeks from saturday. Our teaching is coming along good. WE have about 3 investigators that we are working with. I spoke in our branch my 3rd week here. :) I havent eaten anything to crazy in a while. Thankfully. I am definately to american for anything that comes from Ukraine. They have good candy though. WE eat alot of potatoes and eggs and borsh of course. We just make whatever. Haha that is awesome that a 24 movie is coming out. I cant believe how crazy everybody is about our church. Satan has done a good job with getting people to hate the true church. But that just goes to show that we are the true church. So we almost and kind of got into another fight last week. That was 3 in one week. More fights then i have ever been in in my entire life. We were walking with and investigator home named sergi. When we passed this guy and a girl when all of a sudden the guy started beating the girl. We started yelling at him and he came after us and lucky for him grabbed sergi instead of my companion or I and was yelling at him so Sergi started yelling at him and the guy calmed down when he realized his life was about to be over. It was so nuts. I will have to explain it better later. Well love you guys and hope everything is going well. Love you all.

Haha i got the video of Makenna and Gavin. It was good to see them. And just even to hear Lyndsi's voice was good too. Haha someone teach Gavin how to crawl correctly. Haha he is the man. I also got that package from Grandma Staheli last week. So tell her thank you for all of the food and snacks. Its good to hear Utah won and is still winning. I hope they destroy BYU when they play them next. I did hear about Obama. That is so fetching crazy. Well the crazy thing is that a black man is going to be the president. Not in a racist way but i think that its cool kind of because just a while ago they were slaves. I dont know anything about whats going on back home so its hard to really have an opinion. And the people over here always know what is going on in America. Our English class always tells us. Haha i dont want to think about coming home or anything like that until May. Haha time is feels like it is going by slow enough. Its alright though. We dont see the office people very often. Only once a transfer (6 weeks =one transfer). Our branch president speaks perfect english so he translate at family home evening for the senior couple. I dont know about calling though. I am pretty sure they have a web cam here at the internet club. Haha and i wish we had cell phones. Anyways i think that was the answer to most of your questions. So i was sick all last week. I had a way bad cold and the works that come with that. I bought some ammocallion though and drank that cough medicine and my companion gave me a blessing so i am feeling better though. Thank you so much mother for sending all of those drugs with me. What is doxacyllin? Or something like that. They are small blue pills. How much money is on my card? But i do feel better. Haha so i was debating about whether or not to tell this story or not but i will. Just dont worry Mother ok? So last week we were suppose to have a meeting with a member at 7. We play basketball with an investigator until like 6:15 on thursdays so we dont have time to go home and change. We get to this members DOM and are early so we just wait outside. We are just sitting there talking when all of a sudden these two kids show up. And they are like we are cops and they show us some gay little card thing and we saw you take pills and you need to come with us. And we are like fetch no go away. We didnt do anything. So one grabs my arm to pull me with him and i hit his arm down and push him away. And we are still sitting down. So they keep trying to pull us up and with them and they wont leave us alone. So my companion in English to me says "You ready to fight?" And i was like fetch yea. Because i was getting so mad because these kids wouldnt leave us alone. But this whole time i am praying for strength to fight these kids or just a way out. So we are getting ready to lay these kids out when all of a sudden for no reason the member comes down and we are like hey come over here and so he comes running over and starts yelling at these kids. At this member is a boxer and is about 29. So these kids were so fetching scared after that so they just ran off. It was so dumb though because they kept showing us some little card that said they were under cover cops and stuff. It was funny. But its all good. The Lord is protecting us out here so dont worry mom. Haha so yea remind me about that when i call home too. Well sorry this is such a long email. Hope you are doing good and enjoyed that story. White Trash

Hey Family,
Hows its going? Hope everything is going good. Haha it was to late to worry about my halloween party because by the time you were up it was over and i was in bed. Haha. So it gets dark here at like 4 in the afternoon. It is terrible. The halloween party was awesome though. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it especially the jack o laterns me and my companion made. We bobbed for apples and had a pinata (made out of duct tape) They had never seen anything like it before. Haha we went as "White Trash" I will send pictures. It was really fun though. I didnt get that package with great grandpas journal in it last week with all of the other stuff. That was a pleasant surprise because i wasnt excepting anything when the senior couple brought it to family night. I havent gotten grandmas yet though. They give us the ensign in english so dont worry about that. Nothing to exciting happend last week. Started my third transfer in country though so thats about it. There is only 1 branch in nikolaev. Only about 35 people come a week and they are most women. But its a really good branch and bigger than alot of them here. And our Area is HUGE. Where do you see Preston at? Thats awesome about him getting ready for a mission. Haha to bad about the duplex. Who is casey? I hope Utah destroys TCU. I hope that i am still as fast as i was. I think i am going to go and play football somewhere when i get home. Or at least try to anyways. I dont know we will see what happens. I dont know what happens for thanksgiving though. We will find out i guess. Our apartmemt is finally warm now. They finally turned on the hot water that runs through out the city that warms the apartments. It is crazy how they do it here. Fetch its hard

Hey, Still alive over here in Nikolaev. I love it here alot and its starting to get really cold. I have a big nice jacket though so no need to worry. Everything is going good. Still working with BoBa and a bunch of other people. Fetch its hard. We met the nicest lady last week and she had us over for dinner yesterday which was awesome. It was borsh and it was good. She has a 9 year old granddaughter who sang to us in english it was awesome. She was by far the nicest person i have met here in Nikolaev. The best part was i was the one who talked to her by myself and got all of the stuff. So the language is still coming along. Still hard though. I dont know if i am going to still be here for christmas though. I will be here for at least another 6 weeks but maybe another 12 weeks. Haha i dont have any idea. We played football again last week at our sports night so that was fun. We finally watched conference last week haha and yes it was in Russian. Some times though you could hear the english but i will just have to wait to read them though. I love reading now because its about the only thing i can do haha. I did get the package with the pants but i wont be wearing them for a while because i wear my suit alot now. We are going to have a Halloween party on friday in our english class so what should be fun. We are dressing up and everything. Thanks for the idea about the games. Sounds like the kids are doing awesome though. Haha i cant believe how big they are getting. Its crazy to think about. Man i wish i could have seen the fire. Haha sounds like its right up my alley. Dad: We give blessings quite a bit to members here so we get to do that and our branch has a little primary. there are about 5 little kids and quite a few youth so its a nice branch. We work hard but still not has hard as i think we can. But you cant kill yourself i guess. Thats what my companion says anyways. We get along great though. Saw some guy fall off his ladder about 17 feet up and bash his head open. That was pretty exciting. It was daylight savings yesterday so what was nice to get that extra hour of sleep. No arm wrestling latetly but we did see that guy again but he didnt remember us. How many people work for the company now? Hows the franchising thing going? Well everything is going well over here. Still alive in the Ukraine

Hey Family, Still alive here in Ukraine. Nothing to exciting happend last week again. Just the same old stuff. We played Football on satuday with some natives which was pretty funny. That is awesome that Dakota got his call. If you can text him and tell him i say hi and good luck. That is the mission where one of my friends in the MTC is from. Thats awesome. I didnt know that Don was going to be the temple president though. Thats way cool. Isnt that the temple right by Jani's house? I havent eaten all of the food yet from my packages. I am to scared to eat it because i dont want to run out of the american goodness. I have already eaten the two small jars of peanut butter so i am having to slow down on the big one. In the packages though there was pancake mix syurp oreos and just snacks. I dont know excatly though. Suckers were a good idea and could use some more of those. And of course peanut butter. And anything else that you feel like. I forgot what american food was so whatever works. The Russian is still pretty tough but it is getting better. I can have a conversation with somebody so thats good. Its easier for me to understand when the person isnt talking right to me though. I understand almost everything at church so thats good. When does Utah play TCU? That is so fetching awesome that they opened an indoor soccer place in St. George. Hopefully it is still around when i get home. We play soccer on that turf field quite a bit so that is fun. I think that right now it is actually colder in Utah than it is here. I hear that the next couple of months though are freezing cold but last week i was wearing a short sleeve shirt one day. But the rest of the week was cold after that. I have no idea what i want for christmas. Haha i havent the slightest clue. And i dont know if you are suppose to send things for the companion or not. That is so crazy about how there were more baptisms in China then Europe. Its hard because here people have always been taught there entire life that God doesnt exist. But its alright we are still working with BoBa but he has alot of questions that are impossible for us to answer. Its all good though. Just need to keep working hard and find some people. Thats good that the haunted house is cool. How much have they made on it so far? Thats good that the dogs are still alive. There are so many cats and dogs here it is ridiculous. I love peanut butter!!

To answer your question for real about whether or not we have heat we do, its just not on yet. The way the heat works here is there are water pipes along the walls and the City pumps hot water through them to heat the place. But i actually think it is colder in Salt Lake right now then it is here. They say it gets really cold in about november or december. Haha i am excited to find out just how cold it gets. I bought a big jacket the other day so you dont need to worry about that. It will make a good snowboarding jacket as well. I pulled some money off so i think i have about 90 dollars left. I pulled it off when the exchange rate was really good so for every dollar i got 5.45 ukrainian "Dollars". Thats funny about Makenna and with the whole Peter Pan thing. I actually had a dream about Sleeping Beauty the other night. I am still reading Jesus the Christ and it is a really good book but yea its really hard to read. Especially at 7 in the morning when i am tired as crap. That funeral was seriously the craziest thing i have ever seen before in my life. Ok the body was actually. I think that thing would have been the best thing in the Haunted House. Haha so its good to hear Gavin is being called something other than "Scooter". I cant believe you actually called him that. I got 3 packages last week and they were amazing. I got the one from June to but it was destroyed. Haha. It had been opened to but oh well. Still got alot of good american food out of it and that was awesome. I make Peanut Butter Toast like everyday. I have to fry the bread on our stove but it is so good. So feel free to send more. Just dont go into Debt by sending me stuff. We played soccer on the turf field again and that was really fun. I still do push ups and sit ups and my companion has weights so i lift everyday. Hopefully i come home huge. Good to hear Utah is still undefeated. How could the play BYU in the bowl game if they play at the end and one of them has to lose? This week wasnt nearly as excting as last week. Some guy told me i spoke good russian but after that he said something and i didnt understand it. I laughed pretty good at that. In one of the next packages will you send that book "How awesome will it be?" Or whatever that this is called. Books are always welcomed. I have read a bunch of other books and have learned a ton. It was Conference?

Hey, How is everything going? Sounds like conference was really good. Haha i didnt even know it was conference if that answers your question if i watched it or not. They will give us the conference issue of it so dont worry. I cant believe you like the name Scooter. That is im sorry but the worst nick name i can think of. Haha just call him like Sasha or something. So no i do not approve of that name. That is funny though that he gets around by scooting or whatever he does. I get my packages today! Haha its about time too. Dont worry about the Thermal Garments though. A plain long sleeve shirt would be nice though. Not a church one though. Haha and i am not going to answer that question about if we have heat or not. :) And boarsh is so good. We ate it for like 4 days straight and would have eaten more of it but we ran out of it. . I am glad Mike Sharp is the starting QB. He is good. I like him alot. Thats good that Utah is doing good. I wear my hat and shirt around and wear it proudly. We played Football (Soccer) on that turf field the other day and it was really fun. There were about 15 people so it was good times. I think though that i am the most out of shape though i have ever been in my entire life. I still do push ups and sit ups and my companion has weights but running wise i dont have the endurance i had when i was a young buck. We are still teaching BoBa and are probably are going to try to put him on date this week. He is a great kid. I love him alot. All the people here are really awesome. So last week was full of intersting things. They are to hard to type but lets just say that Ukrainians and Funerals are the strangest things ever. Like seriously you have no idea. Write that down somewhere and when i call in December ask me about it. Also they have no idea how to do CPR. Me and my companion might have saved this guy. Again to long and i would leave out to many good details to tell it. Lets just say the Ukrainian Ambulance system is crazy. We serioulsy just picked this guy up and stuffed him into the Ambulance. It was so crazy. I wrote about them in my journal mom. :) Sounds like everything is going good though back home. I cant believe Houston and Cincinatti still arent good. Who is Miami's QB? I love hearing that Utah is winning. I will have to watch all of those games when i get back. Well everything is going good over here. It warmed up for a bit but i have a feeling that is long gone now. Its not to bad though. Oh well if so. Well hope all is well over there. That is how you answer the phone over here. It is pretty funny because whenever little kids see us they always say that to us. Its way funny. Well i am excited for those two packages whenever i finally get them. Who knows when it will be. Thanks for sending them. Sounds like Makenna and Gavin have already changed a lot since i have left. It will be exciting to see them in 2010. Haha that is so far away to put it like that. What was in my room that you went for? Just curious. Hows the blanket holding up without me? Every once in a while when i wake up in the middle of the night i reach for it. Haha i miss that thing. Jesus the Christ is a really good book but is a hard read. i am reading it right now so good luck with that. Well everything here in Ukraine is going good still. We went bowling today before we did email and it is crazy how cheap it was. It was 7 dollars for 3 people to play 3 games. It is crazy how cheap everything is here. On saturday it rained all day and that is when we have sports so we went out and played frisby in the mud. It was awesome and reminded me of that one football game i had when it rained like crazy. I will try to send pictures of it. Saturday was also a holiday here so we went on that street where everyone walks and had a good time there. People here are crazy. I am in a 3 some with the other Elders who serve in Nikolaev until thursday when my new companion will get here. From what i hear about him he is a really cool elder and likes to work hard. So that will be exciting. And he is coming to me so i thankfully dont have to go to Dnepr. Thats crazy the church will be done so soon. Does that mean you are going to get put into a new ward? That would be so crazy to come back to a different ward. Haha i cant even imagine that. Last week was really busy and i cant even think of what we did except for the mud thing. And about conference i am pretty sure we will be able to watch it but it will be in Russian. Haha so that will be interesting. The missionaries in American seriously have no idea how lucky they are with everything they have. Haha it was be so easy in America. Haha i wouldnt trade Ukraine for it though thats for sure. This place is awesome. Anyway I hope everything is going well for you two and i love you so much. We will have to come back here after my mission so i can show you around. And the key word was after. Haha that means i come home and then we come back. :) Our English is fetching rocking. We have about 15 people that come to our advance class and 45 or so total. Its awesome. Haven't Done Anything Stupid

Hey, Sounds like everything is going good in the Western Hemisphere. I didnt know we got a new Stake Presidency though. What are they going to do when the Stake Center is done in Diamond Valley? Had my first Zone Conference on Saturday and that was great. WE went to a city called Hair sown. That is how it is pronounced. It is hard to type russian words in english. Anyways the Russian is still coming along good. I understand alot but some times i just have to guess what the person said to me. But it will get better. I get my new companion next thursday so that is exciting. And dont get my wrong i love my companion now we work hard but it just feels like we waste some time. We talked about it though and got it taken care of. Haha and what the heck where did Drew come in with the car buy? Sneak attack eh? Well thats good that he bought it. How much is he paying on it? And yes i can know because it is my car. That is good that Jared is starting. Tell him i say good luck and when he does catch the ball just to run as fast and has hard as he can even if there is someone standing in his way. Haha Chad Johnson is fetching crazy. That is so funny that he did that.The office called and said i have a package but i dont know which one it is. I wont get it for 2 weeks though. We only get mail and stuff on Zone Conferences and Transfers. And it is crazy that there are no mountains here. It really does freak me out because it is so flat here. Haha and on the picture with the Toilet Seat up i put it up so you could see how different they are from American toilets. We are still working with BoBa and are actually meeting with him tonight so we will see how that goes. The work over here is a lot different though in other missions. English and the other activites we do are the main way that we contact people. My companion and I sang in the talent show we had on saturday. We sang Praise to the Man. Haha it was great. Live and Learn

Hey Everyone

I am glad that you enjoyed the pictures and i will try to send some more today if i get a chance to do it. Sounds like you had a good time in Atlanta and thats to bad about all of that stuff you had to throw out. Haha the funny thing about you saying "Live and Learn" I actually learned how to say that in Russian last week. So that was pretty funny. Everything is going pretty well over here in the Eastern Hemisphere. I dont know much about whatever is going on in Russia but nobody here seems to be to concerned about it. We went across one of the bridges here where they have some of the biggest house thats I have ever seen. They were huge. The difference between the classes here is amazing. There is not a real big middle class here. Our branch president is a way nice guy who is a school teacher and actually teaches English so he knows it really well. My companion is going to get transferred to become the new AP. So that means I am getting a new one from somewhere. That means Iam going to have to show my new companion around so I need to start learning the streets better. But I am excited for him and excited to get a new companion. I have learned a lot from Elder Sessions and hopefully will learn more. He is a good guy.Crazy stuff happens everyday so its hard to remember what to send you. We are teaching this kid named BoBa (remember B are V's in russian) and he is reading the Book of Mormon and coming to church which is really good. So hopefully that goes somewhere good. We have a washing machine but thats it. We have to hang our clothes up on a line. Its better than I thought it was going to be. Well I love you guys and I hope everything is going well for you. Hey, American Boy

My russian is coming along not as quick as i would like but its alright. It will come and i am understanding more and more everyday day. Still have no idea what is going on for the most part but its getting better. I should have fixed our water heater but it probably would have blown up on us if we would have tried. We didnt really shower when it was broken. Haha we showered twice a week over at the other Elders apartment. But its fixed now with as good of water pressure as we have when the pivot and sprinklers are on. It alright though whatever. They just eat normal meat here. We pretty much though just eat noodles and eggs and potatoes. We tried to make this other stuff but it was nasty for breakfast so we just ate noodles instead. The juice here is amazing and i probably drink more juice here than i have total before i came out. Its so good. Haha it was funny. I had to speak yesterday in sacrament so that was interesting. It went pretty well but everyone was looking at me like i was a little kid who didnt know anything. It was funny. We had 13 investigators at church yesterday and ask Michael about 7 of them. I told him the story. We have only been tracting twice but we go in the huge apartments so there are like 4 doors right by each other so it makes it easy. I dont know why there are only 6 of us here though. Its probably a good thing though because the other companionship seems to like to waste time and suck us into it. It gets pretty frustrating to me sometimes because we dont do anything sometimes but i just sit there and endure it. It really does annoy me though. The place that we email you from in just an internet club that they have here called BFG. It is ridiculous how many people come in here and play games for so long. I am so glad i never got into gaming way big. English classes are going really great. There are like 30 or so people that come so its going really good. Plus according to one of the sisters who knows Elder Gardner from the MTC she said that since she has been here she has seen a complete turn around.

Haha time is chipping away and it is already flying by. I have already been in country for almost 4 weeks now. I had to speak in church yesterday and it was funny because everyone was just looking at me like i was some little handicap kid who didnt know anything. They all told me good job after but it was fetching scary. We had 13 investigators at church yesterday. There were so many. 7 of them were like other missionaries i dont even know what church but for 3 hours after church they like talked to us about the church. Ok well heres what really happened. There were 4 missionaries and our Branch President and 2 Adults and 5 kids for them. And their adults especially this lady new the bible better than anyone i have ever seen before in my life. She seriously would like be looking up finding scriptures. So for 3 hours her and her buddy took on our Branch President while everyone just sat there. For the most part i had no idea what was going on. But according to my companion our Branch President owned them. And from what i understood he did too. I understand more and more words so its getting better but for the most part i have no idea whats going on. But yea our Branch President is the man. Then we had to Black guys from Nigeria come in there fetching sweet robes. They are so sweet.So there is one story for you. But here is another one. I dont know if mom told you are not but on the first day i took an 8 hour bus ride to this city with these crazy drunk kids who love americans so that was exciting. Then the next day we went out on the street and some guy came up and jacked my planner and i ran after him and got it back and stuff. But i saw that guy again when we were leaving the internet club and he was like "Hey American Boy" in english and then tried to steal my stuff again so i slapped his hand down and then he grabbed my tie so i hit his arm again and we left. But then he got physical with the other elders after that. So we will see what happens from here on out. Crazy stuff goes on here every day. It seriously is nuts.

Hello Western Hemisphere

Hey,

Well its Preparation Day in the good old Ukraine and its high noon which means its 3 in the morning over there. I made it to Nikolaev safe and sound at about midnight. The roads here fetching suck. There are huge holes and everything. Haha its so fun though i love it. The way that i think they do it here is they build it once and that is it. They dont keep anything maintained. So the little trolley bus that they have that goes by our apartment seriously sounds like a tank and it shakes our apartment. The driving here is fetching out of control. They really dont have speed limits or anything like that. So its a good time when you are trying to cross streets. Its so awesome. I really do love it here already. I say hi to everybody when we walk (and we walk everywhere and alot of it) and for the most part people just ignore me or i will wave to people who are staring at us and nobody waves back. It rocks. Everyone stares at us because we are in our shirts and ties and Americans so its a good way to contact people. I have a feeling that i am going to have some awesome stories coming out of here. Something crazy has happened everyday so far. The bus ride down was crazy it was me and my companion and another Elder who had gotten transfered down to Nikolaev but we sat in the back and these 20 year old drunk kids talked to us for the entire time. They were drunk out of there minds and were so excited to see Americans. They talked the entire time and of course i have no idea what they are even talking so it was pretty funny. The language is coming along though alright. I pick up words here and there and try to piece everything together. Its going to be tough though but whatever. There are about 30 members in our branch and we actually have a little building for it. There are 4 Men and the rest are women or kids. Its crazy. They are awesome though and i am excited to be down here in Nikolaev. I have a feeling that i am going to be down here for a quite a while. Its crazy because the girls here where clothes that you wouldnt even see on our beaches. They are all way hot to so it sucks way bad. I seriously just walk with my eyes down and my eye control is freaking amazing.Ill just tell a quick little story about what happend to me my first full day here. We (4 of us) were passing out english invitaions when these guy comes up and gets in my face and asks me if i want pot or alcohol so i said no and tried to get by him when he started trying to steal stuff out of my pocket so i was like pushing his hands away so i just took my planner out and gave it to him and he left but then i remember i had stuff in it i needed so i ran after him and took it from him and another Elder gave him Book of Mormon to have and so he took it and ran off. It was so fetching awesome. Haha i was just laughing the whole time and my trainer (who is from North Ogden, plays soccer and is a way tight kid) just stood there and was laughing because we all thought this guy was kidding. It was so funny. He has some pretty awesome stories to so its going to be awesome here. And dont worry about me ok? Seriously i will be alright. :) Our apartment is pretty nice compared to others. There is no AC any where in Ukraine except some places and our toilet is crazy. It is like 2 feet deep. We have to lite our hot water thing everytime we shower but its nice because so far i havent had a cold shower yet. I sleep like a baby because we walk so much. Everything is going good though. I MADE IT

Hey family,

Hey everybody. Well according to my watch you are all in bed right now so you wont get this for a little bit. I made it here and tried calling from Austria but there phones dont do the whole 1 800 thing so it didnt work. It was crazy flying in because everything is so flat and alot of farms. The flight wasnt that bad and it seemed to go by quickly. We placed 3 book of mormons and even one in russian to an old lady and i talked to her in russian for a little bit. It was pretty awesome. President Abraham and some other people were there to pick us up from airport. All of my luggage made it but one of the others stuff got left in Austria. President Abraham said he tried calling to tell that i was alive but nobody answered. This place is out of control. There are no mountains at all, the people are tight and they all smoke. Right when we got here we went contacting and started passing out english fliers right aways. Some people completely ignored me but i just laughed and kept walking. I cant believe that i am actually in Ukraine now after waiting for however long. The driving is crazy! We were driving with President Abraham and it was seriously worse then Mexico. He is a way awesome man and a really funny one. He even started racing somebody. I slept like a dead man the first night and we slept over at the Assistants apartment in the hood. Its so awesome here. Nobody waves when I wave at them but its all good. I found out where i am going and who my trainer is. His name is Elder Hesson and thats about all i know. According to the Assistants he is the coolest Elder in the field so whatever that means. And i got assigned to serve in a city South West of Dnepr called Nikolaev and i have about an 8 hour bus ride today. Haha so that will be exciting. Last night they had a meeting for us with some of the members from the branch. It was really cool. We had some Borush which was good but then i had the nasty drink. The members are really nice here and i had to stand up and introduce myself but now i am going to a different city. I already love it here and its going to be way fun and am excited for it. Last Email from America

Dear Family,

Well its the last time that i will be emailing from the MTC. Haha In this hemisphere for that matter. I am so fetching stoked to get over there. Even though i will have no idea what is going on it will still be awesome just to be there. So we finally got our flight plans last friday. I leave the MTC at 5 am on tuesday. I leave Salt Lake at 8:43 am and fly to washington DC. It says i will get there at 3 and i am assuming that it still Utah time on the schedule. But then i leave there at 6 so i will be calling sometime in between then. I dont know what you want to do about that so just let me know. I am going to need phone numbers though of whoever i am going to call. And thanks for the phone card. Haha 800 minutes! that is a long time. Any ways i fly from DC to Austria and dont get there until 8 40 the next day and from Austria i Fly to Dnepr and get there at like 2:10pm on the 6th of august. Haha so talk about alot of flying eh? That is going to be along time. Anyway, everything here is going pretty well. Just getting ready to pack and sorry Mom you cant come and pack for me. Haha. Tell Grandma thanks for that Fruit. it was....delicious? No just kidding its the thought that counts. It was really nice of her. I love her. Sounds like my car is getting ready to leave the family. Thats good and kind of sad to me. Such a good car. Sounds like you had a good time at the Rodeo last week. Haha i wonder who those girls were because i dont know anybody in Enterprise. Especially anybody that would know you because of me. Oh well I kind of enjoy the fact that people recongize you because of me. Thanks for the pictures from Powell. Haha i really liked the one with the Plates. Even though i didnt recognize some people in it and michael is half cut off in it and Brent and Bryan are in the back haha. And i cant believe Makenna really jumped off the top or was thrown off the top by dad one of the two. She is fetching crazy. But i picked out my loyal sister up from because she is the only one who writes me and seems to remember. Tell Michael i leave the country next week and he has a phone that gets internet service anywhere and to write me. And i will enjoy bree's letter when they get here.
The 100% russian has really helped my language and grammer alot even though i know it is nothing like a native speaking it. But i can communicate with all the Elders and my teachers decently. I just started reading that Jesus the Christ book and it is huge. I cant believe he read that thing 4 times. So far from what i have read it contains some good stuff in it. Anyway, everything is going good up here and i dont really have much more to say. So yea just send me some numbers and i will see what i can do. I am excited to talk to you all next week. It will be so weird to hear your voices though. Well i love you all and i will try and write this week but if not then i will talk to you next week. Love you. Thanks for all the support. Letter to Lyndsi

Hey sis! Whats going on? Guess where I am right now? The laundry room! And yes, I did do my own laundry. Just like every week. I have three weeks from today. (Letter dated 07/15) It feels like I have been here an eternity though. Sometimes it does anyway. My haircut turned out fine though (I think.) I told him to keep it as long as possible which he did. I took pictures of it which I will send with this letter. But no, they don't wash your hair. They don't even use scissors and it took him like 5 minutes to cut it and I think his eyes were closed. haha. And yes, my facial hair is starting to come in. I have to shave at least every day. Its quite annoying. Sounds like Makenna is quite the dare devil. That rocks. And holy cow your baby boy is getting HUGE! He seriously is a chunk and a half. I was laughing so hard when I saw those pictures (which by the way were really cute) But yeah, patience is one thing I really will have when I get back (hopefully) That was Elder Fleuwellen playing all of the cereal and salsa. Your child learns the strangest words. Where does she learn all of them? But yeah, I have made pretty good friends with one of the elders. His name is Elder STeele. His is going to Donesk though so that sucks. It will be way sweet though because when we get back we are going to party! He lives in Preston Idaho. Oh it was so sweet. Holy Fetch and I seriously just forgot what I was going to say. That sucks. Dang it. Oh well. I have no idea what it was but it was cool. Well I can't remember anything right now. So I'll talk to you later.

Last Two Weeks in MTC

Today we finally get to go to the temple after it has been closed for the past two weeks. But i guess i should be grateful since i wont be able to go for 22 months. So now it is 100% russian from here on out. I am really not going to try to speak English for the next 22 months of my life except when i have to. That should be exciting eh? I hear your grammer is screwed up when you get back because Russian is seriously the crazy language. Its fun though talking in 100% Russian but at the same time is pretty frustrating. I dont want to be like the last district though and just give up because it is hard. On Sunday me and Elder Steele got together and told all of our good stories and about our lives. Haha since we cant talk in English any more we just got it all out. It was pretty funny. It is strange though how close you come to people who you have only know for 10 weeks. Even though i am with them 24 hours a day of my life!! Yesterday i was on LDS.org listening to conference talks when i came across Uncle Dons from 2004. Its is a pretty awesome talk and we listened to it for companionship study and then discussed it (In Russian). But yea it was a really good talk. My companion Elder Taylor really enjoyed it and gave it to his friend who is struggling to decide to go on a mission. I wish i could write comments in the pictures so you knew who everyone was. That Blonde Sister was a Russian who was in the last Zone. She was just going around taking pictures with everybody so yea. But hopefully i remember all of their names so when i get back i can tell you about them. Elder Steele though is the Elder with Brown hair. Haha i dont know if that helps but yea thats him. We got our Russian name tags last friday so that was pretty exciting to see that thing. Our last name is sweet looking. I should be getting my flight plans this friday so i will be able to tell you next week when i can call. But it would probably just be helpful to call one place so yea i dont know what you would want to do about that.
I went to choir last week with my companions, they forced me into going so i said i would only go once. But i got onto the little TV little and the jumbo tron screens they have here so that was a good accomplish ment. Haha so i am not going back since i made it on to it. Happy Birthday Pop! Haha i hope you got my letter yesterday. I cant believe that you are 50 and still Wakeboard and do all of that other crazy stuff. Everyone in my Districts says Happy Birthday as well.
Speaking of Gavin he is getting HUGE. Haha he seriously looks like Curly from the 3 Stooges. When i got those pictures from Lynsdi i was laughing for about 5 straight minutes. Its fetching awesome. He looks so tight. I love that kid and Makenna. Who all went out there? I cant believe Grandpa Skied and at he is 72. So everything here is going fine. The temple was closed again today so pretty much i have all day to do whatever i want to. It gets quite boring though. We got 3 Natives from Russia last week into our zone and they are way sweet. I like them more than the last Natives we had. Its pretty cool because i can kind of have a little conversation with them but then they just go off and completely lose me. Haha they speak decent English so we can have a conversation in Russian/English. Speaking of them there is an Article in the New Era about ukraine and the Sasha kid that there is a picture of was in my Zone. He is a pretty funny kid.
So we set a district goal last week to only speak Russian until Dinner. It is pretty tough but at least next week when we have to go all russian it wont be such a shock to my system. 3 weeks left and i am out of here. Haha that is still forever away and it sucks because Derek and Chris leave next week and i talk to them alot so it sucks that i wouldnt be able to see them anymore. But that just means it is getting closer for me to get out of here. Yesterday in class i had to teach about the ressurection and compare it to a Fan. It was pretty funny and difficult at the same time. You should have heard it. My teacher gave me a pretty sweet compliment afterwards. I cant remember what it was but it had to do with St. George and being laid back. It was sweet.
You guys should read the book our search for happiness. Its really good. And even get a Preach my Gospel and read through that. Those are really good books. Well i love you all and hope you have a great day. Tell everyone that i say hi.

July 2 Letter from Tyler

I am sory but thisl etter might be pretty short. I have things I need to do but I just want to give a quick run down.

Tonight we taught the first lesson all in Russian again. We got worked over by the person we taught since she was a native Russian and asked hard questions that I have no words for her questions. But it was a very humbling experience that I will learn from. It wasn't horrible but definitely tough.

The second thing is that all the new Elders we were suppose to get didn't come. All the Russian Elders that were suppose to come in today were all re-assigned. They aren't calling anymore Americans to Russia. They all found out last night that there call had been changed! I think I would freak out. But a mission is a mission. So we don't get any new ones yet. I am ok with it though, it doesn't really effect me. (hopefully). So we are waiting to see what will happen with the Russian missionaries already here.

Well I love you guys. Everything is going good here, just striving for perfection. Oh yeat, I just remembered, I got a haircut yesterday and all my blonde is gone. That sucks way bad. Oh well,

Letter to Lyndsi

Hey Sista! Sorry that I haven't written you back. Haha. I am glad that you haven't given up on me yet. ITs easy though for you to write because you get to use a computer and I only have 30 minutes on the computer. ANyways, nothing too exciting is happening here. Just sitting here in the laundry room sweating.
Thats way funny you guys went camping. I can't believe you took the tent trailer out. I'll have you know the only reason we have that thing is because of me. :) Your daughter is out of control and your son will soon be going crazy. Mom said he looks like a Grandpa Hukill little balded chubby man.
I will be staying with my two companions for the rest of the time. They are way weird/funny. They argue so much wit heach other over the stupidest things. It's quite hilarious and annoying at the same time. But by the time you get this the new missionaries will have been here for a day, so hopefully they aren't weird or anything like that. Oh well. Almost down to one month. Time is slow/fast here. Some days its fast and others super slow.
I do sit-ups as well as everything else every night. I seriously don't know where all of the weight is going (he has gained 15 pounds he says) because I haven't had to change my belt or anything like that. Who knows. My facial hair is also coming in better since I shaave so often. Oh, and I am getting a hair cut today and am way scared for it. I haven't had a stranger cut my hair in forever. So I will send pictures after I get it cut.

PS. Our last name in Russian sounds perfect. It will be nice to not have that slaughtered.

Five weeks down

Hows it going down there? Well its another P-Day and i get to send a lovely email out. So everything here is pretty much the same. The older elders left today at about 5 in the morning which is freaking awesome for them. Its crazy our residence hall is going to be so empty until next week when we get new Elders. Supposedly now time is really suppose to fly by that they are gone but we will see.
For our service project that we do each week i got to clean windows. I am glad that my long career of cleaning windows came in handy up here at the MTC. It is crazy how much the church saves a year by having the Elders do service and clean the bathrooms and stuff like that. I think they said that the church saves over $800,000 a year by having us do it. Its so smart.
The other night i had the strangest dream and i think i was sleeping talking. It was so strange because i think it was Russian that i was trying to say. Tomorrow is the first time that i will get to teach the full first lesson in russian. Haha so we will see how that goes. Its quite fun trying to speak the language but it is fetching hard. Not only do you have to conjugate the verbs correctly but the following words have to be in the correct case or is throws the whole sentence off. Oh well though. Its good times and i am understanding it pretty well.
Last night we had a little "party" in a room. We had chips and salsa, cereal, popcorn, banana bread and skittles. Haha oh and the music we had was MO TAB. It was pretty funny. I came up with a new way to work out. Every night i have been doing push ups and pull ups and its nice to get a little sweaty every once in a while. But now when i do pull ups i put on my back pack so I weigh more and its hard. I thought it was a pretty smart idea. :) I havent weighed myself lately but i still think i have gained a solid 10 pounds. Everything else is going well up here. I sleep well and eat well and work hard.

Family, Well its P-day again and so i get to email so i have most of the Dear Elders that i havent responded back to you guys for so i am going to try to answer as many questions as i can. Anyways, the food here is still pretty good. I am enjoying it well enough. I probably have some sort of chicken and fries every day as well as some orange soda. That stuff is seriously heavenly. I have it for every meal except breakfast. But that orange juice experiment was nasty. It messed up our entire distict. I have never smelt anything as bad as the next few hours as i did. It was pretty gross. And especially because i dont even like orange juice in the first place. I am way mad about what happened to the Penguins. I seriously hate the Red Wings. I was at that RC place the other day and called someone from Pittsburg and i was talking to them about it. It was pretty funny. The person sounded pretty up set with it. Oh well. Its so weird to me that everything is still moving on out in the real world.
Everything here is still pretty much the same thing. We just eat sleep and go to class. Marshall left here today. He came into my room last night at like 4 in the morning to tell me bye. He woke me up by taking pictures of my face with his flash. Oh well he is going to rock out there and hopefully he wont get to fat. His face was looking pretty chunky. I sat by him at the fireside on sunday which was pretty sweet, we just laughed the whole time because the speaker was going off about child birth. It was pretty awkward.
Learning Russian has seriously messed with my spelling. Its crazy. We memorized the entire first vision in russian in TWO days. It was probably the hardest thing that i have every done. Most elders dont do it until like the 5th week but we did it for a gift for one of my teachers. It was way sweet though. Its amazing what you can do with the spirit.

second email

Hello down there in the great city of St. George, Wow i didnt realize how much i liked St. George until i got locked up here at the orphanage. Haha just kidding this place isnt to bad. The food is pretty good and i eat alot. I dont know if i have gained weight though or not because they dont have a scale here. But i play basketball and do push ups everyday so hopefully some of the fat is being made into muscle. So yea my companion is still way weird and such. He sort of reminds me of Josh Mangold because he tells stories that are so unbelievable they are ridiculous. Everyone just laughs at his stories because they are so stupid.
So we started going to this place called the RC where you get to call people and take calls. I talked to this guy for about 15 minutes about the church and answered his questions. At the end of the conversation i testified to him about the church and stuff. So he is going to get the Book of Mormon and the missionaries are going to his house. It was pretty sweet. When i was telling him about what we believed he like totally thought it made sense. It was pretty sweet. But then you get those stupid people who call in and try to prank you. This one kid called and i answered and he was being stupid and it luckily that i am on a mission or he would have being getting alot more crap then i already gave him. The Russian is coming along just fine i guess. Its still way hard but some of the words are becoming familiar and i can also testify and have a little conversation. Dad this is my schedule everyday. Wake up Breakfast Classroom Lunch Gym Classroom Dinner Classroom again. Haha so its not to exciting. We do different things though at night so its just not all classroom which is nice. Sundays are also way relaxing except for all of the meetings we have. (Chris Cunnigham says Hi and that you are gay) Thanks for all of your guys support that you are giving me. And for all the letters that you guys send. They are really awesome and i love hearing from you guys. I hope everything is going well down there. Love you Guys. Another Letter---Yea!!!

Tyler wrote us again, I never knew a handwritten letter could be so exciting!!! I will just summarize what he wrote, or try to hit the highlights of the letter. He has been able to play a little basketball and volleyball, and is looking forward to playing some soccer in the next little bit- he didn't mention football, so maybe they don't let the missionaries play that at the MTC!!!!
He says his days are full of studying and eating and that is about it, there are not any scales so he has not been able to weigh, I think he is a little concerned about gaining a lot of weight! Tyler is also learning patience as he learns to adjust to his companion, I'm sure that will get better as time goes on. The language is coming along and he can introduce himself now and I think bear his testimony, he says his district is coming along pretty well with the language also. He is enjoying being the District Leader as he gets to serve his district missionaries and work with the Branch Presidency and really likes them a lot. He gets to see Marshall (Chin) or maybe we should call him Cheeks now as Tyler says he has put a little weight on!!!!! He also eats most of his meals with Chris and D.O. He said President Monson's daughter came and gave a talk about President Monson as a father, not just as a prophet. He was very impressed with what she had to say. I think that is it. He will be emailing us on Tuesday, or he better anyway. For those of you who read this he really appreciates any letters sent to him whether through the mail or through the Dear Elder.com. FIRST LETTER!

Mom and Dad,

Hows it going down south? It has been pretty much raining the entire time. So it goes from 100 to 40 degrees, its pretty cold. But Wednesday was probably the longest day of my life. It seriously was forever long and today wasn't bad until after dinner, then it was so long. But I haven't had much time to do anything for myself. Our days are pretty much planned out for us. My companion is pretty cool, his name is Elder Bickley and is from Washington. He is kind of different but thats alright he is a great guy. I saw Chin the first day that I was here so that was pretty awesome. I went from being pretty sad to happy right as soon as I saw him. He is in the same building as me so I went and visited him tonight. I also see Chris and Derek quite a bit and I saw my roommate Aaron today for the first time. He gets to already leave to S.C., lucky English speakers.

We started our classes today and we learned the alphabet and how to read the scriptures. It is pretty tough stuff and sometimes you remember the words and other times you have no idea. But my teachers are great and the missionaries who have been here for a while helps us out quite a bit. My hall is all missionaries going to Ukraine and the Russians are downstairs and the spanish speakers are upstairs. They have this place pretty well organized. The food is decent and you do get to eat a lot of cereal. One of the missionaries in my district has 4 a meal. But I am the district leader. There are 10 missionaries including myself in there. So that is pretty cool I guess but I am grateful for the chance that I have to serve the missionaries in my district. Pray for them and me please when it comes to learning the language. Its tough and exciting at the same time. The Branch President just asked me on Wednesday after meeting him and the counselors to be the DL.

I am doing great thought and I slept pretty well the first night since I was so exhausted from everything.

But I love you guys and I did get those Dear Elder things. So spread the word about those. I can e-mail on Tuesdays. I love you guys and hope everything is going great.

He's GONE!

We dropped Elder Hukill off at the MTC today at 12:00. He was extremely nervous and didn't eat all day so hopefully he got a snack or something before dinner. He ran into Brant Parker before he went in and he calmed his nerves a little bit I think. He also had Chris Cunningham to hold hands with as he went into the "missionary exit" door. It was a bittersweet day and we are now counting down the days until he comes home! It will be an unreal experience for him.

PS. I just found out if you go to dearelder.com you can send letters for free to the MTC and they get there the same day if you send it before noon or the next day after noon. Its easy to get an account and then you just type in his Mailbox number and thats about it!
