It has been MONTHS since I've blogged...I forgot all about our blog in the maylay of our army life. Moving here and there, packing, unpacking, constant phone calls. But we are now settled! So. Here's what has been going on! We are now in Fort Campbell KY. Well Clarksville TN right on the border. Enoch has been enjoying 101st Airborne so far. Just lots of busy work right now. After a
YEAR apart we are finally living together as a family under one roof. Things are super tight since we've moved in. But we are rich in love. Ashlyn is so happy to finally have her dad around. She has to cuddle with mom and dad before she goes to sleep every night and read her books to us. She is a much happier toddler now that her daddy is around. And Enoch is loving having his little girl back.
Ashlyn loves her ice cream. This was in March in Idaho. Cold cold cold outside. And she had to had her ice cream and for some reason she gave me this look after I said smile. I think it was because mine was 5 times the size of hers,
Fun spaghetti adventures when it was snowy and cold outside in Rexburg.
The family went bowling. We were there for 30 seconds and I hadn't even taken my shoes off and I turned around and she had picked up a 10lb bowling ball and was attempting to carry it to the lane and she was so top heavy she fell forward, dropped the ball and it bounced off the tile floor and split her chin open. We went to the ER and she somehow managed to smile even when she was bleeding all over. She was very good while we waited and even fell asleep. She got her chin glued back together and now has her first scar. What a tough cookie.
We went to visit dad in Fort Bragg in April for a week and it was the best time. Somehow I managed to travel from Idaho to NC pregnant and chasing a toddler around and survived in one piece. We didn't get into Raleigh until 11pm and had to drive an hour south to Fayetteville after traveling all day. Ashlyn did not have a good first night. But the next day she was all smiles with daddy.
It was so good to have my family back together for a week. We hadn't seen for 4 months, Christmas time. And we didn't know in just 2 months we'd be living together again.
I called Enoch when I was at my ultrasound so we could find out the sex together. Skyping wasn't working on his phone.
IT'S A BOY!!!!! Enoch picked out his name, Conrad Enoch Bowler.
After the Fort Bragg trip, it was Easter time and Ashlyn and her cousin had a blast finding easter eggs. Chesca just wanted the candy. Ashlyn just wanted the eggs...
We had so many fun days tearing up the mall.
Our almost daily trip when the weather was warmer was the play ground. Ashlyn just had to go and had zero fear.
I had my baby shower a week before Enoch arrived. We were so excited when we bought his ticket for May 30th. And to celebrate, 5 of us ate the entire cake in less than a day.
The day Enoch flew in, Ashlyn was perfectly happy to help him clean up his motorcycle,
She loved playing on dad as much as she could after he got to Idaho. She just couldn't get enough. And I was happy to let him handle her.
The day before we left for Fort Campbell. Ashlyn thought the truck was the coolest thing. All she wanted to do was hang out in it. It was a tight fit up there with the 3 of us. But we got all situated and off we went. We hit mid Nebraska the first day and St. Louis the 2nd day. I missed the Arch so bad!!!! Now we are only 4 hours away! Just like a trip to SLC.
Our first night in the apartment and I think Ashlyn settled in just fine. She thought sitting on the cooler was the best thing. It was her chair, her stool and her table so I just let her go with it.
She thought it was the funnest thing to put as many flowers in her hair as she could. She will never keep in pigtailes, ponytailes, bows, clips unless she is the one that decides she wants them...
Here I am, 31 wks 5 days measuring at 28 weeks. My new doctor is a bit concerened since I only grew 2 weeks in 6 weeks. Although my medical care is now free and it doesn't matter how many appointments I go to, it's still complicated and drawn out. Make an appointment to do paperwork. Make an appointment to see the doctor. Make an appointment in Radiology. Make a lab appointment for bloodwork. So much running around. The next ultrasound we have is on Saturday so I hope everything is going alright. I haven't had one since I was 18 weeks and we have no idea, doctor included how things are going in there with the little man.
We FINALLY got a 2nd vehicle after a month sharing 1 car. It was a nightmare to share and a nightmare to find one we could afford that would eat up the snow in the winter. Winters at Fort Campbell are like they are in St. Louis. Wet and icy and you need a heavy 4x4 to get around. We have been trying to sell the Harley since we moved here and have had no luck...we are getting frustrated.
Ashlyn is a water baby for sure. She loves swimming and is very good at it. She's not even 2 and can swim all around the pool, with the the help of a floaty swimsuit of course. We love our pool and are in it almost every day. It feels good on the preggo belly, too.
Ashlyn uses silverwear but usually moves to her hands, then scarfs off the plate like a dog. As funny as it is, I hope she grows out of it.
She turns 2 next month and I can't believe it's been 2 years already. Then a month later, Conrad will be here. Then we have our 4th anniversary. Then 2 weeks after that I turn 26. Then we have Halloween to prepare for. And Enoch's 28th birthday and the holidays come next. Ashlyn's birthday will always kick off a super busy fall and it will fly by but we are loving being together and time will fly by.
