Behind on the Blogging....

I have been told by several people that my blog has been suffering for some time now. Well, can I give you some of my best excuses? First, its the HOLIDAYS...enough said. Second, the appraisal business is CRAZY right now. If you didn't know--interest rates are super low and everyone and their dog are refinancing/buying houses right now. I am definately not complaining--seeing how SLOW we have been for almost a year now. We make hay while the sun shines (that means work hard while you have work to do) because who know when the nutty Feds will raise those rates back up again! Third, the pregnancy thing...isn't that the best excuse? So forgive me for slacking, I will try to make it up to you soon. We have been busy little elves around our house--I just haven't taken any pictures!

Only 16 more "crafting" days until Christmas!!

Who knew I could be "crafty"? Thanks to Libs (my dearest neighbor/friend) she lent me all sorts of goodies to get my afore-mentioned (previous post) homemade gifts in the works. She lent me her freshest copy of Martha Stewart Living magazine (hopefully I didn't smudge too many pages) and some great advice and also some darling office supplies to complete my items. Thanks to you Lib, my gifties are darling! I never knew making lip gloss could be so fun! Yes--I really made lip gloss in my very own kitchen. The flavors I concocted were Tangerine/Grapefruit and Cinnamon/Vanilla. Ask Libby to let you smell her lips--she owns the very first pot of Kelly's Christmas Gloss!! I am not going into any more details about what other items were made--I'm afraid to spill the beans--as my sis-in-law MIGHT read this blog post. As for my bachelor brother, I do have an idea moving along for him--but he can rest assured it is not from good ol' Martha!

The Mueller family has opted to make a homemade gift this year for our sibling gift exchange. I NEED ideas ASAP! The lucky siblings are a 24 year old outdoorsy bachelor brother and a almost 30 year old domestic diva sister-in law. We are not to spend over $20 for the supplies. Does anyone have any good ideas for me? I would like to get started pretty soon, being that I am not considered a "crafty" person--this may take some time. But I am willing to put in alot of effort if I think the results will be grand!! I am also willing to try new skills--as long as they are on about a 6th grade level. Please leave comments a plenty. Thanks for your help.

Meet Jack... Jack O' Lantern

The Mueller family has a tradition to get together the Monday night before Halloween to carve pumpkins. In years past, we did this at our house. But the year my Dad decided to bring a drill and spray pumpkin all over my kitchen--I decided enough was enough. We have since moved the party to my parent's garage (which by the way--it clean enough to eat off the floor.) My Mom made delicious dinner-sloppy joes, veggie, witches brew (root beer) and all sorts of goodies. Zak is a pretty intense pumpkin carver--always trying to outdo himself from the year before. He made Brutus the Buckeye (Ohio State Mascot) this year. He free handed it himself, very impressive.The kids love scooping the "guts" and running around being crazy! My Mom changed things up abit this year--wearing her DARLING witch costume and being in character all night long! Thanks family for the fun memories and perfect-o pumpkins!

Halloween Happenings...

So, I guess I've got to start somewhere...so we'll go ahead with last weekend. On Friday we had an adult party with some friends. We had dinner, a video scavenger hunt around the town and games and treat at our house afterwards. Costumes were mandatory!! We had a fun time and thanks to all the friends for helping out and making this party such fun. Unfortunately, I did not get to take a picture of our yummy eats--including my darling cupcakes--these people were ravishingly hungry!Here are some pictures of the crew. A little under the weather....

I have been feeling pretty crumby since the weekend. I came down with a nasty cold and sore throat. Not sleeping to well either....so forgive me if I don't post for awhile. I'll get back to you as soon as I feel sunnier! I've got lots of fun festive things to tell you about!

Arrrgh! A whole bunch of darling gals (aka my bestest pals) got together yesterday for some sheer Halloween pandamonium!! 11 crazy ladies acting like Martha Stewart and 12 even crazier kids in costumes playing to their hearts content! We had fun--I was frosting cupcakes in a fury--trying to get enough done for another party I'm having on Friday night. Let's hope that I don't eat all my tasty treats before their big debut. I have the best gal pals anyone could ask for. I love you all and love spending time together. Linds--thanks for you cupcake tutorial. Veronica--thanks for letting our kids use and abuse your house and thank you for taking pictures of all the cute kiddos--even on your day off!! And to the rest of you ladies--thanks for the great laughs and good times! Veronica is the BEST photographer ever--you should call her if you need any kind of pictures taken. (I have a link to her blog on my side bar.) By the way--he came up with that name all by himself. Here is a DARLING picture of my little "scallywagger" named Captain No Beard. So last week, we took our annual trip to "Maddie's Pumpkin Patch" over at the local Cochran's Produce stand near our house. The Cochrans are also in our ward--they are such a darling family and we love going to see their store! So Landon decides he wants to choose 5 pumpkins this year (like the song he learned at school)--so being the sucker that I am, he did! We also picked up so cool green gourds and little white ghostie pumpkins too. One of our choices is all warty and I need some good ideas about how to carve that one...

Coming at you LIVE from Rio Tinto Stadium!

I surprised Zak with tickets to the opening game for Real Soccer at their new stadium--Rio Tinto down in Sandy. I must admit that I am pretty spoiled. I don't like to go to sporting events unless my seats are pretty prime! I was able to score some GREAT seats at the half field line on row 4! We could see really well. I do like to look at all the cute soccer players. (Hee!Hee!) The game was on Thursday night--the eve before the big storm came into town. By the end of the night, I was pretty frosty. I was wearing 3 coats and a scarf too! We had a blast! Can I just say that I LOVE date night....thanks to Grammy Kim and Grampa Don for tending so we could have a "kid free" night! The stadium is cool--very state of the art and the game was pretty good. Real ended up tying with a score of 1 to 1. But that beats a loss any day if you ask Zak! I think a tie is like not playing a game at all--who is the winner?

We had alot of fun--our only complaint is the food. I mean, if you are going to spend over 10 million dollars on a new place to play--you might want to make sure the food tastes good and that you don't run out of hot cocoa before half time!!

"M.V.H" Award--Most Valuable Hubby

So I've been meaning to do this post for quite some time now, and I'm finally getting around to it! My Hubby is the BEST. I don't care what you other wives say, mine takes the top award for Most Valuable Husband! While I was away playing in good ol' Seattle with the gals, Zak was a very busy guy. Not only did he take 2 days off work to be with Landon, but he accomplished more around the house in 3 days than I could do in 3 months! No joke. He was a good daddy and had fun with Landon, he canned about 30 quarts of stewed tomatoes, he painted and hung all of the doors for our basement, he cleaned the ENTIRE house and even scrubbed the bathrooms.! So now I feel even more guilty for leaving him to play! Oh well. I love him dearly and think he is the best hubby ever! I wish I had some grand prize or gift to give him, but I don't. So this blog post in his honor will have to suffice. Thanks again Babe for letting me go play! You are truly my Hero and I love you the MOST!

BITE ME...

So I had no clue that preschool could be hazardous to your child's health. Seems that Landon and some unnamed ghul (how Landon says girl) had a slight confrontation on the playground today! I went to pick him up after school and his teacher pulls me aside and says, "There was a slight problem between Landon and a little girl today." So it turns out that the two were fighting over a toy and the teacher didn't get to them in time before the little girl sinks her teeth right into Landon's arm. Yeah, she even broke the skin! Yikes. So in defense, Landon bites her right back. Luckily the teacher is there by this time and breaks up the fight. When she told me this, I basically started laughing! I wanted to make sure the little girl was ok--I guess she doesn't even have a mark on her arm. But Landon definately has a "war wound" from that battle. I really am just relieved that Landon wasn't the one who started the fight...he has been known to be a playground bully. Thus another great reason to send your kid to preschool, they get to learn how to share! And if they don't learn, then they get bitten!

It's a Potty MIRACLE!!

FINALLY. He is ready. Something just clicked....I don't know when or why but it happened.

Landon has been wearing underware since last Thursday with no accidents yet! (cross you fingers on that one) He will only go pee staning up--which can be messy--but at least its a

step in the right direction. He still wears a diaper at night and hasn't gone poop in the toilet yet, but we are working on both those things!

He even wore big boy underware to church with no problems!

Yeah for Landon! We are so proud of you!

I NOW know what people mean when they say you just have to wait for you child to be ready.

Girls Trip....Anybody Jealous???

So here we are back from a fun-filled weekend in the super city of Seattle! (Try saying that 5 times fast!) We had a great time. Stacey was an awesome tour guide. She knows that city like the back of her hand. I was so impressed at her skills--of which she has many, including singing with the band, driving, parallel parking, shopping, feeding hungry girls, laughing, joke telling, parking again, driving some more, sharing her house, being a slum lord, etc, etc, etc. Thanks again Stace for letting us crash at your pad! You are so darling! To the other grabbernabber members of the Board of Trustees for the great town of Brownsville--hope you are all readjusting to like back in Mommy World. Thanks for the good laughs and great memories!! Here is a photo-montage for you ALL to enjoy!

I'm a BIG kid now!

Tuesday was Landon's First Day of Preschool! Are you sick of reading first day of school posts? Well, too bad! I'm doing one too. Landon is going to preschool at Critchlow's Little Red School House. How many of you attended this same school? It is close to my parents house, so it is really convenient for me and my work schedule! Landon looked so cute, his shirt makes me laugh, "Whiz Kid"--hopefully his teachers didn't take me serious! I was a teeny bet sad when I dropped him off, he is getting too big, too fast. He was so excited for school to start, his teacher let him be the "big helper" and ring the bell so the kids would clean up and get ready for school to start/end. They learned all about the color red. He brought home a big red balloon. We can't wait for Thursday so we can do it all over again. Yeah for Preschool! Hopefully school teaches Landon how to communicate and share with others. We are also hoping that seeing the other kids use the potty--will help Landon want to use it too.

We had a "fair"ly good time!

Okay, so the Weber County Fair was about a month ago--but I am a little slow on getting this post up! We went with our fun friends the Zezula's--its sort of a tradition for us to go together. We saw the animals which Landon thought were "dumb and stinky." He kept asking why they were all just lying there. I guess even cows and goats and pigs think that 100 degrees is way too hot! Then we had some refreshments and played kiddie games like the fish pond and ring toss. We won some totally awesome prizes. Next it was time to ride the carnival rides! That night the special was that if you rode--then a friend got to ride for free! So as you can tell by the photos, Jace and Landon had a swell time on the rides. One of the "carny" ladies asked me if I wanted to ride in the car with Landon but I told her there was no way I could fit. She just laughed and told me that "she had seen women 3 times my size squeeze in them dam cars to ride with their kids!" I told her I'd sit this one out and just watch from the sidelines! Wished I would've busted out the camera earlier in the night so you could see all the great "white-trash" that we cam across. I must be a "red-neck" at heart because I love hanging out at the fair!!
