Is this game still a soft reboot/direct-sequel to MI2? Guybrush seems to retain his Tales of Monkey Island design here, making it a proper MI5 sequel..? Wait and sea (ha!),

EDIT: Update - Alright, stop everything! I see references to Curse, Escape and Tales in the gameplay trailer! So everything's canon? It's really Monkey Island 6 and not a direct sequel to MI2 finally???

I hadn't posted the "Monkey Island 6" trailer over here YET, but I gotta I'm hyped!

Devolver Digital makes great games. Ron Rilbert is back to helm the series. It's another classic 2D point and click again, which is a nice return to form even though I love Escape and Tales. And it's appartently already coming this year!!

Even though the game is a mystery, we also know Michael Land is back on music duty and Dominic Armato as well as Guybrush.

So I recently received this beautiful collector Anthology Collection from Limited Run. The Monkey Island Anthology!

I remember pre-ordering this a whole full year ago.. but it was worth the wait. (Except for a little weird  error, more on that below..)

Yeah, so I already had the entire Monkey Island series on PC.. but now I got it twice!

Anyways, the collector is also a huge excuse to get all these little awesome goodies, long time fans will recognize all these references.

Numbered LRG edition, signed by Ron Gilbert!

This book is awesome, full of behind the scenes stuff and details!

They made the funny missing floppy for real?? Plus the content's also on the USB key.

I wasn't expecting much from this Guybrush figure, but he looks fantastic!

Best frame ever.

My only complaint? A weird error in the listing of the games on the side... I mean, didn't anyone check this before it went to print??

I like to recognize some action pieces from the games mushed into this film together. I still think Mark Wahlberg could have played a proper Nathan Drake.. (or just get Nathan Fillion..)

I'm not sold on this super-young adventure-thingie. And give Mark a moustache if he gets to play Sully!! 

Remember proper actual serials? Which inspired Indiana Jones? Which then inspired Tomb Raider, and later on Uncharted? You used to drop on the lives of these 40+ years old adventurers, who felt like they had this whole life of experiences and adventure, in the middle of the lastest one. I just feel like this obsession Hollywood has for origin stories work the adventure film genre.. I don't wanna discover how X hero became one. I want to see Y already an hero be tested and use his experience and smarts.. Sigh..

What? A random new Leisure Suit Larry was released, a direct sequel to the modern meta-one that was really not long ago (one year ago?). Wet Dreams Don't Dry. We now have Wet Dreams Dry Twice!

#GamingNEWS Beyond A Steel Sky - Apple Arcade Launch Trailer

So apparently there's a new Beneath A Steel Sky, a sequel to the classic Dave Gibbons-illustrated adventure game.

Titled Beyond A Steel Sky.

In fact it's already out on the console nobody has or heard of, the Apple Arcade. (It's the new Shantae all over again...) But fear not! It's later coming to PC, Mac, iOS and Linux!



It might be 3D but seems to retain its original look and type of gameplay. I can dig it. Let's wait and see..

I learnt about this game the other day, thanks to a Switch news update.

It looks quite lovely. Like a nice mix of action-rpg adventure and sim building. Perfect post-Animal Crossing time waster.

#GamingNEWS Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Announcement Trailer | PS5

Alright, I think this one's a great fun announcement.

There's been a lot of confusions regarding this game since the original announcement, thanks to Sony's twitter PR screwing things up.

It probably came from an idea to remaster the PS4 Spider-Man game. It's a standalone spinoff, not quite Spider-Man 2. It's Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PS5!



They compared it to Uncharted Lost Legacy in terms of spinoff/sequel status/standalone smaller side project. Sounds great.

I can't wait to web-sling across NY once more, this time with Miles! Bring it on!

#MovieNEWS Ghostbusters: Afterlife - Official Trailer - At Cinemas 2020

Alright! Things are looking up.. maybe... let's be optimistic about this whole thing.

Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters is finally revealed to be titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife! And this new trailer does a 180 on the 2016 Answer the Call Ghostbusters reboot/remake... it presents itself as a distant standalone new idea with very little retreating the past/nostalgia, and the tone shows very little to no comedy.

I personally half-enjoyed Answer the Call. I loved the cast, but felt the direction a bit poor and didn't enjoy parts of the plot. And that film first showed itself in a nostalgia-filled first trailer even presenting itself as a direct continuation of the original ("30 years ago..").

Now we have this stranger soft-reboot thing...!



I like the visuals. And Jason Reitman's a talented director. Plus they got me at Paul Rudd, let's be honest. Not sure I dig the kid film approach, way too much Stranger Things vibe.

I guess the next trailer will actually rely more on nostalgia and show the entire returning original cast...

But color me optimistic about this whole thing so far.

Shenmue 3 is real!

Shenmue 3 was finally released....!! After all these years!!

It doesn’t even feel real. Is Half-Life 3 coming next week??!

I still remember buying my Dreamcast brand new. Getting Shenmue 1 a few short months later, spending hours... days.. weeks exploring it!

Then before the end of the Sega era... We did get one last hurrah in the form of Shenmue 2...! Discovering such a bigger adventure.. with only came to an end on that darn’ annoying cliffhanger...!
And now.. finally...

SHENMUE 3 is here! Ryo is back!!!

The game does look pretty decent actually, better than what I feared.

But good..

Or bad...

It just feels so odd to actually play it after so many years!!! (Even wilder and stranger than when Duke Nukem Forever finally came out, if you ask me..)

I just can’t process this...!!!

It’s like coming back home. Things aren’t exactly as you remember them. You see stuff in a new life. You notice the passage of time. But all in all, it feels like home.

#MovieNEWS Dora and the Lost City of Gold - Official Trailer - Paramount Pictures

I never thought I'd be hyped for a "Dora the Explorer" movie, but there we are.

They basically made an Indiana Jones film and made it seriously. I mean, like a teen Tomb Raider, if you will. And they got Eva Longoria and Michael Peña as Dora's parents. They even got Benicio Del Toro and Danny Trejo doing some voices!

I am absolutely not familiar with Dora, aside from pop culture references to it. This show's way after my time. But this does look... better than the recent Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider films. So... ehhh, why not.

I mean, they got me at Michael Peña. Who am I kiddin...
