Sidewalk Paint

Image
We have been working inside quite a bit this week getting ready for Pesach but at least Froggy got outside today.  I made her a batch of sidewalk paint using the easiest recipe ever.  It is simply equal parts corn starch and water.    We colored ours with the default set of 4 food coloring colors you can get at the grocery store.  We mixed colors to get purple and orange. Then I took the paint outside and turned Froggy loose.  Here is her masterpiece

We Play - Zombie Barf

Image
Froggy's cousin, DaBean, came over for the day.  It was such a joy having him spend the day.  He is the only child other than Froggy who makes me laugh by just being himself. Even children who play well and creatively together sometimes need a focus for their play.  So we made Zombie Barf.  DaBean had been gifted with a Zombie Lab for the winter holiday.  :He had already tried some of the experiments but not the Zombie Barf. Rule #1 of Parenthood to remember - Kids like Gross. They were so excited just from the word "barf."  I insisted we take the activity outside not so much as a concern about mess but because it was too beautiful a day to be trapped inside. One of the neighbor girls joined us and everyone took turns creating the barf. This is the Zombie that comes with the kit.   And this is Zombie Barf.  It was very authentic with gelatinous bits and a different color liquid.     And since it is supposed to be candy.  ...

Visiting the Fairies

Image
Last Fall we cleared out this bed in preparation for creating a Fairy Garden.  We haven't planted anything yet.  But we did finally get a few homes moved in.  And right away some fairies came to play. :)  Froggy played for ages with her new friends.   She introduced them to each other and played hostess showing them the houses.  And this is my house number And look Ima there is even one in the tree.   She was sad to tuck them away for the night and eager to go visit them the next day.
