Decorating the Tree

As you can see, the pictures aren't in order, but they both enjoyed getting to deorate the tree. They have both also enjoyed undecorating the tree daily.

Date Night

Dustin and I had a few days without the kids after Thanksgiving. I had to work, but after I got off we went to a Razorback Basketball Game. We didn't win, but we enjoyed just being kidless for the night.

Big sister, Little Brother?

As many people know I am asked everytime I venture to Walmart or Target if my children are twins. The Doctor confirmed today that they should have been. We had our annual well check-up appointments with Dr. John.

Sam: 32 ponds 3foot 2in. 10th percentile- moving up he was in the 6th percentile last yr.

Sofia: 29pounds 2foot 10in. 50th percentile in weight and height, 75th in head(She's just big brained)

Age difference: 27 months

Happy Birthday Birdie!!

Sofia had a good time with the jump house but ended up watching her friends jump more then jumping herself. Here she is watching the other kids. One of the only still pics I could get of her. My digital camera is broken so I had to use my dads, Thanks pappy!

The Minnie Mouse cake that my friend Liesl and I made. I thought is was great if I say so myself.

She even blew out the candle by herself this year, what a big girl.

This picture was supposed to be second, but she opened the colors and coloring book first and started coloring, she could care less about the other presents, so daddy sat with her and helped her open the rest of the gifts.

All she wanted to do was color in her new Scooby-Doo coloring book.

After the gifts were open she got into her new toys. She got a kitchen fully stocked with dishes and baby-doll with a furniture and a cute ducky that talks. Her Sofia is feeding her new babies from something she cooked in her new kitchen. What a sweet momma she is!

Halloween 2009

As you can see they both enjoyed going trick-or-treating. We went door to door in our neighborhood with our friends from across the street.


Boo did not like to keep her head on, so she mainly wore it behind her. She was super-cute in that costume.

Buzz was tired and tried to trick Cinderella into carrying his candy bucket, she did it a few times until his mom got on to him for treating ladies like that.

A few days before Halloween:

Sam loved his costume, but it wasn't until his friend Woody showed up to the Halloween play date that he wanted to keep his costume on.

Pig tails!

The sweetest things in life are pig tails Look how cute this curly pig tail is! I am just now able to pull up two ponytails. Her curly hair is so cute when it is made into pig tails.

She has blossomed into the

cutest toddler with plenty of spunk and sweetness.

I just can eat them up. Nothing comes close to how fun it is to fix her hair and hear her say "hair bows!" She loves to get her hair fixed.

Oatmeal raisin cookies

1.) Mix the dry ingredients, then slowly add the wet ingredients, add the raisins last.

2.) Place by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet

3.) Place in the oven at 350 for only 8 mins. (this step is the most important)

4.) Take out of the oven and place on wire rack to cool immediately. This keeps them moist and chewy.

Recipe

1 cup of crisco or butter, I use butter 1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup of sugar 4 cups of oatmeal

1 cup of brown sugar 1 tsp of salt

2 tbls of water 1 1/2 to 2 cups of raisins ( or chocolate chips)

2 eggs

1 tsp baking soda

Thanks memaw for this lovely recipe. I remember being a small child helping you make these cookies on the built in mixer. I think we ate more cookie dough than cookies, but the memories are wonderful. I love you!

New Addition

No, I'm not pregnant, just a new cat mom. During a frantic day at work Dustin was distracted and tricked into bringing home a kitten. It all started when the TV station got a phone call about a baby bobcat on a lady's front porch. She swore that nobody would come help her. Dustin, reporter and an intern headed to Weddington Woods to investigate upon arrival they discover a furious(see picture above) 1lb kitten on the porch meowing frantically. "It's been screaming like that for two days" the lady says. Trying not to laugh, they ask her if she has watered or fed the wild animal. The lady replies, "No, I'm not getting near that thing!" So just to be sure Dustin calls Game and Fish, sends pictures through his phone..the phone rings. "Yes, this is the Game and Fish Office in Little Rock what you have there is a common house cat." "BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE A TAIL," the lady says "Ok, a common house cat without a tail" the voice says, laughing.

The reporter feels sad about this wild animal not getting food or water, so they pick up the kitten and head back to the station. Not until they all have on their seatbelts and driving down the road does the reporter and intern both state that neither one of them can keep the poor animal. After a phone call to me at work during am rounds, he takes the kitten to get checked out and given shots by our vet.

$130 we have Bobby the cat a.k.a Robert Louis Rogers the third, offcially.

He's not famous, he never even made the news.

Sam loves his cat and the cat loves Sam. And the boy was happy.

Sofia Loves to strangle the cat. And the cat runs in terror.

Dustin is about to let Sofia strangle the cat because he spreads liter all through the laundry room.

Happy Birthday, Catfish?!

We have been playing softball with some friends and Dustin has acquired the nickname catfish, apparently from some way he catches the ball or something in that manner.

I usually just go buy a cake, but I have decided that I really like to bake and went for the granddaddy of all cakes, my memaws triple layer german chocolate cake. The last time I made a cake it fell in and was awful, the taste was good, but the look was bad.

Then to make it worse, I wanted to make a coconut cream pie for a get together we were having with some friends. I thought that I had all the right stuff, right recipes but the pie ended up being coconut soup with meringue. The friends of ours were nice enough to understand but I decided to try again and remembered, thanks to that friend, to use corn starch instead of flour to thicken. Sam loved it and called it "creamy pie." He still asks for creamy pie.

Dustin was pretty nervous about me making the cake, he keep hinting that I should just go to Rick's, but with only one phone call to my memaw I did it and it tasted great, not as good as hers, but pretty close.

My fireman

Sam love firetrucks. As many of you know by his room. We have seen local firemen at the local grocery store pull-in in their truck, Sam's eyes huge and his mouth open. They always say come by anytime, so one morning we decided to go by and let Sam see the trucks and question the local firemen. Thanks Fire station #3.


The smallest one drives. He was funny to watch, him try to turn that steering wheel, which is bigger than his head

He loved putting the hat on.

The coat was to his ankles and about 20 pound heavier than he is.

This poor fireman got about 20 questions and then Sam told him he need to put his hat on.

Sofia wasn't as impressed as Sam She liked the lights but she could care less about a big red truck. I think Sam was more excited to watch them have a drill behind the station and to also learn that the firemen had a basketball goal.

Family summer favorites

Sam gets to pick tomatoes about every other night with Mr. Joe a.k.a. papaw from next door. He has always had a huge garden and every year Sam asks about his tomatoes. This year Mr. Joe planted a cherry tomato plant that is just Sam's. He takes his pail over and fills it up. We all enjoy just popping them in like candy. What a treat.

YUMMY! Our family eats this about 3 times a week.

We also get his big tomatoes too. We always slice a few with each meal.

Cowgirl Bird!

Now that's a focused cowgirl.

She enjoys riding Clyde the horse, which is her brother's but he shares.

That sweet face that I just want to kiss all over. We found a roll of film we "lost" or just didn't get developed until now, it was Sam's 3rd birthday, he will be 4 in 2 months. There was a pic of Fia that was so old, she was so fat and had a big round baby face, she has grown so much this year. I better eat up those cheeks now before I look back and there is no baby fat left.

Long Weekend

We went to see Memaw this weekend and pick Sam up from Pap and Gi's. We went down on Friday and came home on Saturday night. On the way down we got a flat in Russellville, which held us up an hour and an half and almost ruined Sofia's green dress. She was playing in the tire shop and sat in a used tire before we could stop her, so never the less I had to really scrub to get that out. We stopped to see the new addition to the Pachlhofer's in Conway, Congrats!

We then meet Gi in NLR to get Sam who insisted that we "lost" him for the week. he said, "Mom, you lost me at pappy's house," over and over. He got to stay a whole week and swim everyday.
We headed to Pine Bluff and stayed at memaw's house which was a nice change. Sofia ate her oatmeal all by herself Saturday morning, which made memaw get the vacuum out she was so messy.
All of my cousins came out with their kids and had lunch together. The boys are all with in a year of each other, and so it was very loud. We enjoyed getting to meet all the second cousins and having the opportunity to catch up with my cousins. Thanks Memaw.

Kids Update

These are some new pics of the kids after church.

Sam has some new sayings that we thought that we would share with everyone

1.) When he wants to fight, instead of saying you want a piece of me, he says,"You want a piece of meat?"

2.) He has strep throat and a fever, his eyes are runny and he says to me," Momma, my eyes are broke."

3.) The other morning I was cooking breakfast and I called Dustin to get Sofia, of course it took 2-3 times to get him to come, but while I was calling Dustin, Sam looks at him and says, " My mom is really freakin' in there."

He really has started to turn into a boy. What a mess. It's so funny to see how they think and how their minds work.

Miss Priss is a wild woman as many know from her uncontrolled hair. She is only about 4 inches shorter than Sam, a few pound lighter but she sure can pack a punch. She wants things to always go her way, she has a little OCD in her I think. She has started saying a few sentences and a few new words.

She always follows her brother and loves him dearly. They are attached to each other even when they are both fighting and tired. He teaches her new words and shows her how to play with his toys.

She loves my dancing fairy music jewelry box. She brings it to me and says, " I want to see.", or "Do it."

St. Louis Trip

We went to the concert, Keith Urban and Sugarland on Thursday evening. We walked to the Scottrade center, about 7 blocks from our hotel. We saw the new Busch stadium and there nice down town park. On Friday we went to Six Flag and rode a lot of the roller coaster and played in the water park. We payed $20 for corn dogs and water, $15 to park, $14 for a locker to keep are swimsuits in, after we payed $42 each to get into the park so we fill like true tourist getting screwed. Never the less, we stayed all day. That night we had our anniversary dinner at Top of the Riverfront restaurant which is revolving. Very worth it!

Saturday we walked to the arch and played around then we headed back to AR. We stopped and Meramac caverns and took the tour, very need and education, and I forget the broken camera in the car but Dustin took so cool pics with his handy cell phone.

We had a great time just being married without the kids. Thanks Angel and Wade for the babysitting!
