My Second Flash Game

Everyone in my 350 class has dabbled a little bit in video game making. I didn't exactly make a video game, but it is a game, and still took lots of programming, so it counts too. While working on it in the lab, a friend leaned over and inquired about my obsession with chess. I wouldn't recomend an obsession with chess, even for myself, but I do admit that many of my projects have a chess theme streak. Even if the pawn lamp turned out really cool, I have to admit that it worries me.

Click on the logo to go and play the 8 Queens game. Having done some research (other people do the work, not me) I found out that there are 92 different solutions to this puzzle, so it shouldn't be hard should it?

There is a small possiblity that I'm going to renovate the project with cool fade ins and outs when a Queen dies, or marking squares were a Queen has line of sight. Its kind of bare bones right now. Maybe if I'm really bored one of these days.

And...I'm back. No, I didn't go anywhere, I just haven't been on blogger for a very long time. Let me explain.

The first hurricane that his was called Flash. We were supposed to spend about 20-25 hours on it, I spent well over 40, and the movie isn't even that great. I'll post something about animation principles in the future, none of them are in my movie, which I'm disappointed about, but don't want to spend the hours fixing it for numerous reasons. Another disclaimer- I made this for my major, and it was very well received, but it is one inside joke after another, so you probably don't think its funny at all. (click on the logo)

Then another hurricane hit, and I still don't know what it was, but I got really sick, and then I went to the doctor and I started getting better. Funny how that works, huh?

By the end of this week I will have another flash assignment up- this one - a GAME! I'll keep you in suspense of what its going to be, but you probably aren't going to like it. However it is significantly more fun than the last flash game I made, which is still accessible through this blog.

Last but not least, I'm am involved in a filming project. I have to use some discretion of where I talk about it and who with, because its not technically me but an alter myself that is officially involved. BUT we are having a Premier party this Friday. If you are in or around the Provo area, you are invited to come, contact me if you want to come. I can promise that you'll laugh, at least a little bit.

I want to duplicate something that I saw elsewhere. I think its very appropriate for my Feb 14 post.

Pixie: I'm not sure many people have been as close as Pixie has been to me. Always understanding, very sweet, sensitive, and yet always fun and engaging. We have has so many fun, interesting conversations. I can talk to you about important things and I know I trust you, and I'd do the same for you anytime. I don't talk to you nearly enough as I ought to.

Ocsi: Is probably the coolest person that I know. He spends his time doing the coolest things, has the worst judgment, and thinks like an economist. You have a lot of my respect and admiration, even if you are better at everything than I.

Scottie: For motivating me to keep my room clean, for never being superficial and to always care and show interest. Now matter how crappy my day might be, even just a few words can change the whole world. You know whats important and whats not. And you know how to make people laugh. I wish you did come in pocket size version, so we could all carry one of you around.

Aaron: We've been roommates or neighbors for a long time. We both come from very different backgrounds and are two very different people. I still love the late night conversations, I still chuckle at the loud music at three in the morning, and I always admire your pure intentions.

Matt: Is the kind of person that adheres strictly to a code of honor, and I really love that. The thing is he doesn’t just live it, he lives his life, very fully, part of his code I’m sure, but I love that too.

Robbie: I love that you call and invite me to things even if you don’t know if I can go or not, (I’m usually free). I love how you’re creative, and you know I’ve loved your blog(s). I love the strong commitment that you give to things.

Burley: I just love you. You’ve taken the sad baggage of being the last child gracefully and still walk around just fine. You involve yourself in so many good things, I think its incredible.

Chad: I don’t think he has a jaded bone in his body, he’s always happy, or close enough to count. I love how you’re not afraid of anything, and have the willpower to do whatever it is you think you need to do.

Steph: You’ve shown me that I can be whoever I want. You are always fun to hang out with, and you put up with others’ quirkiness. I also love that you haven’t given up your OCD love for cleanliness.

My Classmates: I don’t know if they are ever going to read this, but that was the nicest thing anyone has done in a decade or two, thank you so much, and I love you all.
