More Gatlinburg

On our way out we stopped by a little stream for a photo op and then stopped in Pigeon Forge to ride go-carts. We paid for 3 rides each on 3 different tracks but the first one was sooo bumpy! I was a little sick but really sore from it so I sat out the next track but Erik looked like he had so much fun I wanted to do it after he got done and then he rode the last one by himself which he said that one was the best. I think go-carts is a guy thing...I mean its fun but its still just driving around in circles...I really don't get it

Gatlinburg

This wasn't a planned trip but it was the best! We drove the SHORT drive from Knoxville but it was still like midnight. We stopped at Walgreens and got essentials for the night and then went on the hunt for a room. We found one at the Days Inn in Gatlinburg. Today we woke up and put on the same clothes we had wore yesterday (at least we stunk together) and hung out in Gatlinburg. We rode the incline up to the lookout, shopped, and rode around Gatlinburg. And guess what I bought??? Real cowboy boots! They are so cute! Being in TN for so many days put me in the mood for them :)

I learned something new this football game...apparently its a tradition to smoke a cigar after the AL/TN game if we win...how have I not heard this before? Well Erik forgot his but found one in Gatlinburg!

This along with Gatlinburg was a very last minute trip but those are usually the best! Erik called me on my way to Nashville and asked if I wanted to go luckily Michelle wanted to get home early on saturday too so it was no big deal for us to leave kinda early.

I'm not sure what Bama was doing the first half it was kinda uneventful but they sure made up for it in the 2nd half. And we held on to our #2 spot!

I think TN got a little confused and thought they were in Auburn...before the game they flew an eagle around the field...cool but not in the right place!

Nashville

I didn't take many pics cause I went to classes during the day but when we got there on Wed we were so tired we went straight to bed. On Thurs after a few classes we went to eat dinner at a place called The Treehouse and had drinks there too. On Friday we had the dinner at the hotel and then went downtown to Roberts...Michelle's fave bar! I didnt take my camera to the dinner cause my purse was too tiny but hopefully the others from Bama will email me the pics and I'll post them cause we were all dressed up in our cocktail attire!

Busy Busy Weekend

Whew...what a busy few days! But thats how I like it to be! On Wednesday night me and Michelle left for Nashville for a organ donation and transplant conference which honored Childrens for an award for performing a certain number of organ donations. The Alabama Organ Center paid for 2 employees to go and I volunteered to be one of them...Michelle went along as my date. The conference was at the Opryland Hotel. I went to a few classes and then on Friday night there was an awards ceremony and dinner. It was fabulous! And of course me and Michelle shopped, went to bars, and had a blast!

Saturday we left Nashville and drove back to Bham, I dropped Michelle off met Erik at my house literally ran in and changed clothes and then we drove to Knoxville for the game! What a game! There is nothing better that beating Fat Phil especially there! And I got to see my bestest Mandy for the first time in FOREVER!!! Her whole family was staying in Gatlinburg...and she said it was only 30 min away sooo...

after the game me and Erik drove to Gatlinburg, found a motel room and stayed for the night and hung out in Gatlinburg today. We had so much fun and it was gorgeous! This is the perfect time to go!!!

Babysitting

Monday I babysat for Amorrion again. We went shopping for dresses and to Walmart. I got him his first Alabama shirt and taught him to say Roll Tide! Yesterday I ate lunch with Laura and then played with Dylan. Off now to Nashville for a conference...be back on Saturday just in time for Tenn game

Just a little update...

sorry no pics. I thought I'd write a little update about this past off week but I still didn't take any pictures.

Monday I babysat for a co-worker of mine's little boy. He's 2 and I realized my house is so not child proof. I thought I'd put everything up BEFORE I got him but I still followed him around just taking stuff from him and putting it up high. He's the sweetest child though and I hope I get to do it again!

Tuesday me and Laura had our weekly lunch and went to test drive her a new car. We had a little scare with the police after but luckily we got out of it :) That night Laura Popwell came back into town and we all had dinner. I miss her so much!!!!

Friday me and Erik had a "real" date. He told me not go out of town this weekend so he could take me on a real date...he's so sweet :) We ended up going to eat and then to Atrox (the haunted house in Leeds). Its so scary! I was fixin to cry if we would've had to stay in there much longer! But it was fun...he's ready to go to Sloss now but I told him I wasn't ready for that yet.

Saturday I went home for the first time in about 2 months! We had our family football party and watched LSU get their butts kicked and watched Auburn get their butts kicked on the computer (it wasn't on tv). Alabama did great (not even playing) and kept their #2 spot...ROLL TIDE!!!

Tonight I finally let Erik meet my parents...they came down to Trussville and we all went out to eat. Him and my Daddy are now BFF...maybe in a little bit he'll be ready to meet the rest of the fam! We'll see...

Did anybody hear about that blackout in Georgia...

it was so bad that Alabama power had to go in and help! HAHAHAHAHA!!! Jimmy sent me that message after the football game on Sat and I thought it was the funniest thing ever! I actually found a bunch of Alabama fans in Hawaii and watched the game with them at the resort! I was really expecting GA to win...in fact I've been saying they would win it all but after the way they've been playing and then the way we've been playing I knew it would be a good game and it was awesome!!!! ROLLLLLL TIDE ROLLLLL!!!

Sarah REALLY wanted chocolate strawberries!

Our last night Sarah kept craving chocolate covered strawberries. We saw some man carrying a plate of them but we couldn't find them anywhere. We were walking back to the room and saw the plate the man was carrying sitting on top of the garbage with 2 strawberries left! Kam grabbed the plate and we carried them back to the room where Sarah got to eat her chocolate covered strawberries!

Big Circle Island Tour

On Friday we did another island tour but this one covered more stuff. We started by going around Diamond Head and then to Hanauma Bay which is supposedly a great snorkeling spot. We didn't get to do that though but it was gorgeous! The water was so clear I could zoom in with my camera and see the coral under the water. Then we went to Pali Lookout which looks over the eastern side of the island. Then to North Shore again, then to Dole Pinapple Plantation again...where we got to spend more time. We rode their train through the farm and got to shop more. After the tour we had sushi for dinner and then just wondered the resort one more time.

Funniest Videos You Will Ever See

Our dinner cruise was filled with a bunch of Japanese people. When they all started dancing I thought I was going to pee my pants...I caught a few of them on camera. We were all in a circle dancing and this one REALLy old Japanese guy got in the middle and started doing the chicken dance. He was almost all the way on the ground! I was about to die! This first video is of the girls doing the hula dancing stuff...I wish I could do this!

Sunset Dinner Cruise

Thursday I spent the day at the beach and Sarah and Kam went shopping. For dinner that night we went on a dinner cruise. It was very fun after we got over the motion sickness of the waves...Kam never really got over it...he later puked his guts up. There was a mini luau on the cruise. And the funniest thing you'll ever see...Japanese people dancing! I took tons of video...I'll try to get them on tonight!

I fell in love while in Hawaii...with red coral! Its illegal to dive for it now so its very rare and pretty pricey but like Kam says...its an investment :)

Circle Island Tour

We took a tour around the Oahu island and spent most of the day at the Polynesian Culture Center which is where there are different sections made up of all the different people that started the Hawaiian Islands (kinda like Epcot at Disney). Then we went on around to North Shore (where all the BIG waves come). There were no big waves at this time of year though...they usually start around november and then went to Dole Pineapple Plantation. We had dinner this night at a little coffee shop across from our resort.

After getting back from Chinatown we got all decked out in our floral attire...we had all bought new hawaiian clothes this day...put out leis on and the flowers in our hair. While me and Kam were waiting on Sarah to get ready we started hula dancing and taking pics of ourself. We ate at an Italian restaurant in our resort that was fantastic!

City Tour and Chinatown

After visiting Pearl Harbor we went on this city tour thing that took us around to the old supreme court building and the king's palace. We left our tour after that and walked to Chinatown where there were no tourists. Me and Sarah were the only white people! We did ALOT of shopping here and ate lunch at this Chinese food court where there were all kinds of weird fruits and food.
This is business attire in Hawaii...nobody wears suits and ties. I love it!

this was one of Kam's favorite fruit as a kid in Malaysia...it was pretty good
