I had a fun time in Salt Lake…wish more of you could have been there, but I had fun with Aunt Penny, Uncle Gary, David, Emily, Adam & the girls!!

Hello Everyone and Greetings from home! Not long after I posted my Seven Peaks Waterpark pictures, I ended up going to the ER to get my foot and ankle X-Rayed and for some medication for the pain. It doesn’t appear that my ankle is broken, but badly sprained and possibly torn ligaments. I’ll go back to my doctor this week to get it re-checked. Here are a couple pictures my mother took of me (& Alex) waiting in my room at the hospital.

I was supposed to fly home on Friday evening, but because of my ankle I wasn’t able to so I got to got to see Emily, Adam, and their adorable girls Katelyn (4) and Hailey (2) in addition to Aunt Penny and David again. Friday evening we went up to the Canyon for dinner…Thanks Alex for taking pictures because I was a bit drugged and out of it!

Hailey has the most expressive faces! Alex and Hailey were BFF’s the could days we spent with the Wankier’s. So that’s why there are a TON of picture of Hailey!

Cutie-patootie Katelyn! This little girl has serious attitude! She is a teenager in a 4-year-olds body!

What a blast we had in Salt Lake this past week! It was great to re-connect with our family and made lots of memories! I also was able to find out that Hutchison’s, Kylee, and Jessicaall have blogs that I can now follow! Hopefully we don’t go this long again without talking and seeing each other!

Station Fire

The Los Angeles Station Fire is hitting pretty close to home! Mandatory evacuations are in place in northwest Pasadena...luckily, we are in northeast Pasadena so we are pretty far removed from immediate danger. Dave and I just got back from driving around taking pictures, and it's pretty crazy outside. It's 2:00am, but the sky is lighter from the fire and there are huge plumes of smoke rising into the air.

Hello Again Hutchison Family!

I figured, I’d add one more post to your guys’ blog, of course because your mom, dad and brother are in it…or maybe it’s because its ALL ABOUT ME…not sure which one!!

I’m bummed Aunt Penny is leaving in the morning for Dallas, but I am hopeful that Emily, Katelyn, Hailey and her will be back before I leave!  Everyone else, I want to get together with all of you soon!!  Miss you all!!

It’s my favorite day of the year…the day of my birth!  Not only is it my birthday it’s my special (or golden) birthday, I’m 24 on the 24th!  I’ve waited 24 years for this day!!

Kelly, Alex, Dad, Grandma & I went up to Park City today.  We shopped and had lunch up there.  It was a beautiful day but freezing!  The girls & I found adorable (but matching oh well!) zip-up sweatshirts at Quiksilver.  We also ate lunch at The Eating Establishment, an original name isn’t it!  The food wasn’t fantastic, but good!

This afternoon Grandma took Alex & I to get pedicures, I also got a fill.  Thank you, Grandma!!

This evening we had my birthday dinner back at Grandma’s.  Dad made us tacos, my favorite!  We also had birthday pie (thanks Aunt Penny & Uncle Gary for buying them) for dessert.  Since my mom is still up at her Aunt Beverly’s, that left my dad in charge of the party planning…and *SHOCKER* he forgot to buy candles!  But Aunt Penny came to the rescue and found toothpicks!  Kinda ghetto, but very funny!!  She said Kelly can Photoshop flames on the top of them!

I had a great birthday today, and I’m excited that it will continue on Wednesday when we go to Lagoon!  Not to mention the three I have when I get home!!  Yay for my birthday!!

Aunt Penny is flying down to Dallas tomorrow to help Emily drive back to Utah with her girls.  They are supposed to be back on Friday…I’m hoping EARLY Friday, since I fly home Friday evening!  EMILY…think early Friday, or even better Thursday night!!

Temple Square

Hello Hutchison Family-

It’s all your favorite cousin, doing a guest post since all of you are missing all the fun here at Grandma’s!!  We had a fun and memorable day today down at Temple Square, and wanted to share the post I posted on my blog (http://corisbigmouth.blogspot.com – yes a plug for myself!) with you guys!!  We’re having a great time and wish all of you were here with us!!

Do today to the dedication of the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple there was no church, so Grandma wanted to take us all down to Temple Square to see the new Joseph Smith movie.  My mom, Aunt Penny & Aunt Cindy all went up to Idaho to help their Aunt Beverly, so they were gone for the day leaving my dad, sisters, Uncle Gary & David to go with Grandma. 

We only had one car, so we took 2 shifts and went to the closest UTA Trax station and road the train down to temple square.  Here are a couple of pictures that we took on the train!

We made it to Temple Square and wandered around the grounds… and of course took some pictures!

Anyway….like I said….the whole reason we went down to Temple Square was to see the Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration movie.  Well, we went to the theater and we had just missed the movie, so we went to lunch and came back to see the 3pm showing.  The missionaries at the front told us it was playing in the downstairs theater, so down we went.  We made it to the theater 15 minutes early (and in Flemmer Family time that’s amazing!) and just waited in the theater for the movie to start. 

The sister missionaries came in to do their introduction and welcome to the movie the Testament.  Grandma immediately puts her hands on her cheeks and says loudly “WHAT” jumps up (as the lights are going down) and storms out of the theater. 

We hear a lot of “blah blah blah blah blah JOSEPH SMITH MOVIE”  loudly!  The whole theater hears (we all cringe) then she comes back in the theater and tells us all loudly “GET UP we’re leaving”.  The rest of us just sit their looking at each other like “maybe if we just sit here she’ll disappear”.  Guess we forgot who we were with….next thing we know she yells “GRAB MY PURSE LETS GO”.  The rest of us hang our heads and start walking out of the theater in shame. 

The poor missionaries were so confused and we heard them say to each other “we lost them already and the movie hasn’t even started yet”.  Poor them!  We did run upstairs and were able to catch the Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration Movie.  It was good, but turns out that most of us had seen it already…oh well.

After the movie ended we headed back to the Trax and home.  Since we only had David’s car to shuttle us between the Trax station and home we once again had to take two trips.  Uncle Gary and Grandma stayed behind and the rest of us went in the first car load.  David drove and we were off…only problem none of really knew how to get back to Grandma’s house.  We all agreed that there was only 2 turns (2.5 miles – Uncle Gary measured it) and figured we could find out way home…umm…yeah…we ended up in Midvale about 7 miles from Grandma’s house. 

Alex remembered that we had a GPS in the car, but we didn’t know Grandma’s address.  Kelly then had the idea to just search the Sandy Library…and wah-lah we made it back.  About the time we got home Grandma was calling to see where we were, she and Gary thought it was hilarious we couldn’t make it 2 turns and 2.5 miles without getting lost.  We thought it was funny that Uncle Gary was stuck with Grandma for more than a half an hour in the blazing sun!!  In typical Cori fashion, a few pictures!

What a fun day we had!  We definitely made a lot of memories and have plenty of funny stories to share!!
