My mom's passing
So sad yet somehow relieved. Elizabeth edmunds Boynton born June 5 1924 died this afternoon about 4pm at home peacefully. We were blessed to have Liz Sarah Steven and Adam here the week before she died. I was amazed at my dear Liz putting her 3 kiddos in the car and making the long drive out to be with us. Dave my brother was here all week Cathy Sherman welsh my step sister here a good part of the time and my mom's neighbor Lisa a loving nurse also spent hours w us as she transitioned out of this life. Ash and her babies were in and out a good part of the week as were Jess and crew. Several old friends stopped by. I am hit by the wonderful smell of my mom when I enter her room. I forget that I can't call and chat with her. I keep meaning to do so. I am so sad and grey. Lots to live for. But tonight I am quite blue.

Christmas 2013
What a strange season it is this year. My mom is 89 and has had health problems over the past many years. This fall she was struggling with a combination of physical problems and emotional problems as well. She went into a psych facility to hopefully get her meds on track. It worked and she came home a week later a new woman. It was great to see her happy and feeling good. Soon after though she went downhill and went back into the hospital. We brought her home end of last week and transitioned to hospice care. Liz and kiddos came out which was wonderful. Now we are trying to keep her comfortable. She's resting now next to me. Becca is expecting and I hope and pray for her safety. Dougie Allison Sarah and Adam have all been sick. Such an odd and sad time really. I feel pretty awful these days.

I am thankful
Liz and gang left today. I am thankful for skiing w Angelina Sarah mike Liz and Doug. I am thankful that Adam loves me. I appreciate Stevens love of his mother. It is awe inspiring and sweet. I loved riding up the chair w Sarah and hearing about many forgotten Harry potter details. I love watching Angelina's love of her cousin. I found notes she had written to Sarah in several spots. I loved finding dirty kiddo socks and knowing they had been worn just a few short hours before. I love having a warm body because Jessica made me a gorgeous hat. I love that my church talk is over. I loved having lunch with Rebecca and a delicious dinner with ash and her babies. I loved listening to Sarah and Angelina sing "I feel my savior's love" and several other songs. I love the way Isabel says "grandma" when she wants my attention. I love that Alison reached for me. I love that Tyler laughs at me. What an angel. I love that Steven and tony play so well together. I love that my daughters make sacrifices to build our family relationships. What fine women. I'm grateful Mike drove all the way to colorado to hang out with his mother in law. (Ok so maybe that is a little bit of an exaggeration, but I have wonderful sons in law) It's been a few good days I'd say.

July 4th 2013
We are in breck and our condo is on Main Street. The bike race And parade have started out the day. We are watching from our porch. Cool !
I'm actually sitting on the trail waiting for dog to go back to the car and retrieve Jackson's backpack. He carries all the dog food and his may and blanket. He's such a good guy.
We've left our camp on the gore trail below the ecc pass. It's about a 4 hour hike in. We've brought enough grub for another 4 days.
July 3, 2013 backpacking in eagle nest wilderness again
We've had such fun. Plenty of room in the tent for all four of us. As usual it's a lazy dog afternoon...morning.
Later on the evening of the fourth, Doug and I have arrived back at the condo from our backpacking trip. Well, we are sort of back. Doug's boots fell apart. The soles came right off.
He now has new boots, we have much more food, and are heading back out in the morning.
Tonight we went to the symphony here in Breck. It was wonderful. The composer of one of the symphonies attended and introduced his piece which was inspired by Georgia o'keefe paintings completed while she was young and teaching math and art at a college in Texas.
